This is probably the most real, raw, refreshing video that I have seen about pregnancy. I feel like women are compelled to feel 1000% happy and joyful and grateful about pregnancy 24/7. As if there is no room for a woman to feel like a human being who is anxious and nervous and fearful and doubtful when she's bringing another human being into this world. And most of the time women feel guilty and won't be honest about these feelings for fear of being judged and being seen as ungrateful and undeserving. So when you see RU-vid videos about pregnancy, it's all the beautiful and happy and wonderful. But I mean if I tell someone right now that I don't think I'd like to have kids in the future, people will go ballistic. So thank you for bringing this into light. Let's normalize this.

Jenn filming herself crying before taking the test is something SOOO many women go through. Lots of people think pregnancy is nothing but pure joy but fear comes first when it's not something you plan for. I wanted to reach out and hug her. I know things are happier now, but this realness is something I truly appreciate. So happy for you both!

Got pregnant at 19 had my daughter at 20, got pregnant with my 2nd at 22 miscarried, a year later got pregnant with baby number 2 (that's actually healthy so we counted it as number 2). Trust me a lot of girls your age think it's not a concept and it happens

My sister and I have been watching your videos since 2013, we were each 11 and 14. Being Korean American, we grew up following you like you were a big sister to us. You didn't only open our eyes to fashion and makeup, but you also gave us advice on how to be more confident, and just how to be a good person in general. We have already cried many times to your videos(your wedding with Ben, what you have learned in your 20s..), but this made us cry so hard. My sister just screamed my name when she saw the notification, and we ran to the sofa and sat down to hear this beautiful news together. We just want to say that we have faith in you and Ben to be amazing parents. I know this because you literally raised us to be good. Without you and your channel, we wouldn't have become the people we are now. We are so full of emotions that can't be put into words. We love you and your family with all of our hearts. i just found out im pregnant, and i will unfortunately be a single mother, i was a complete mess when i found out because i was in shock that it was even real. i thought my mother would be upset because im graduating college may 15th, still have no job and it was with a guy that i just didnt feel a connection with in the end. but, she is over the moon and said the same thing your mother did "im glad youre having a baby while im still young enough and able to remember" that really helped me relax more and just open up to this new journey.

my mom basically raised me on her own and i wasnt a planned child either. i never knew my biological father, my grandfather is the closest thing i have to a father (love him to bits) but my mom did fantastic on her own, you have your mom with you to im sure help you with anything you need. congrats on graduating and good luck, im sure youll be a great mother!

@@Drake00000010 you are not one to tell someone if they are in the right stage in their life to have a child, she didnt say that? just bc the baby was not planned it does not mean it cant be a good stage to have a child, just bc she was shocked and a mess about it doesnt mean she cant feel good about it after the initial shock has passed. and from experience i can tell that when you have a boss ass bitch mom, youre gonna be fine even if you dont have a father. most likely the child will have other male figures in their life to be there for them anyway. sure abortion is an option if she feels like its the right thing to do, but its not your place to tell someone if they are in the right stage or not. and the child will be absolutely fine even if the father is not in the picture.

I appreciate your honestly because a lot of videos like this just make it seem like it was such an easy decision - but motherhood isn't something that feels so welcoming to some of us. I pray that, though I might not have a family of my own, i will get to have my friends' kids as kind of my own family, and that I will be as much of a part of their kids lives as I hope they are in my life, because i know i will love the little ones just as much as i consider my own friends like my family. As a single 27 y/o man without children, I tend to find it hard to relate to pregnancy announcement videos. But the footage and descriptions in this video are so raw and real that I was actually moved to tears and can somehow envision those fears and doubts you had despite my gender and never being put in that situation. I for one still have no desire for children but if what every one else says is true then I will get more interested as I get into my thirties. This video really was well done and I truly only hope for the best for you three! Congratulations!

That raw clip of you questioning yourself before taking the test and being scared got me to tears. I felt your pain. I’m 37 weeks pregnant and I can relate. I wish you all the best and all the happiness in the world. Do your best girl, you got this!!! I love how real this is. More people need to see the "I'm scared as shit" side of this situation because even if you're someone who has always wanted to be a parent and has meticulously planned a pregnancy, there is still fear for many reasons. And to anyone who needs it: ALL YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID AND NORMAL. Don't beat yourself up and feel guilty for feeling fear, doubt or even wishing you weren't pregnant anymore. And if you've already had a kid, don't feel bad for feeling stressed from being a parent and sometimes wishing your life were different. It happens and doesn't mean you're a bad parent. You are human and being human is complicated. Our moods are always changing and our lives are stressful. And things like pregnancy literally change your body's chemistry both during and after. That complicates things further. Feel what you need to feel. Talk to someone when you need to talk. And no matter what path you take, you're not wrong and your emotions are normal.

It really did i even cried... I understand the pain, fear and anxiety in those few second clips she shared with us. I aborted my baby though because I knew I wasn’t ready nor capable to give it a good life deserving of love and security when I had none. Can you tell me one thing the video title spells "We're Pregnant" but how can "They" be pregnant only she can be pregnant.

@@split5887 "we're expecting" would be the correct form as only the woman can actually get pregnant, but Americans do use that wording meaning that the guy is involved as much as the woman in creating the baby. But it is not factually correct, you are right.

@@split5887 I think It's just an English thing, like says we are going to be parents. they say we are pregnant cause it's their kid even if it's just her pregnant. But I can't be 100% sure, English is not my native language either

She's really showing us the alternate side of pregnancy, one that not many married couples would show publicly. Despite being loved endlessly, [I assume] financially secure, and is at the age, Jenn still shows that pregnancy IS and will always a major life-changing moment. It's not all happiness and laughter, but it's also doubts and fears, yet these are just steps that will eventually be overcome as time passes and thoughts have sunk. This is great for any women who are planning or NOT planning to have a baby. I hope this will help them not feel alone in their journey. Congratulations to both of you, Jenn and Ben. Both of you are gonna be great parents; your baby is very, very lucky

how do you 'not plan' to have a baby? if you use contraception its 99% effective idk I'm confused.

@@georgia1986 yeah I got you, that 99% also comes with 1% of ineffectiveness, although highly unlikely. I was implying that pregnancy tends to be pictured as a smooth ride with a little bit of nausea and cravings, while the truth is your body goes through a roller coaster of hormones and emotions. This type of video may be helpful for ALL women (who want or don't want to have babies) to understand the bigger picture :)

I got pregnant at 32. Married at 30. When I found out I was pregnant by using the test kit, I was alone. My husband was overseas for work. I cried in the bathroom for the longest time. My relationship with my mom was never good. So I questioned myself "Would I be a bad mom?" "Would my kid love me no matter what?" I went to the doc to get a retest because I still didn't believed I was pregnant! My daughter will be 9 this year and I love her to bits! She is the best thing that ever happened to me and being a mum is the most best and rewarding, the most tired and never ending job, the most unappreciated job where you will always be judged, but No Regrets! You will be a great Mom Jenn. Yes, we will doubt ourselves all the time, and think that sometimes we just wanna give up, but Moms are strong! You will rock at it!

Your fear is somehow so inspiring. I think people associate having a baby with happiness but for a few, who thinks far and long about parenthood, having a baby is scary. Wanting to be a good parent, which is your first and foremost worry, is the right direction to go. I wont say dont worry because you should, but as long as you keep striving to be a good parent, you are doing an awesome job.

When you broke down in tears, wondering about whether you would be a good mother or not-- it was almost a mirror-image of what I (and so many others of us) fear. I am tearing, everyone talks about the excitement of having babie. But neglected the negative ones.. society has incepted that everyone should be happy for new member. But neglected mom’s feeling and status change. :’) is ok to be scare, is ok to be emotional.. you got this Jenn! :) love youuuuu!

I related so hard with all of this. The PCOS, hitting 30, the fear, and wishing I was just excited. Made me tear up. We had our first baby last July and now I can't imagine life without her. I cried. I grew up watching you, you were my idol throughout highschool. I felt so insecure and small and unnoticeable growing up in a predominantly white school and not many other asians near me. I felt like I had to fit in, and blend in not be noticed. You were one of the first korean youtubers i ever followed and it changed my life. I felt proud to be korean and you helped me find my style. thank you jenn. You’d be a great mother

ben's reaction brought me to tears. I'm just bawling all over my sheet mask right now. Jenn, you are such a sincere human who is always looking to grow, how can you NOT become an amazing mother? And if you make a mistake, like we all do, you will communicate and learn and grow because that is the type of person you are.
