It took him 20 minutes to write the song.. At first, Keith refused to record the song and only sang it live at his concerts for the troops. Thanks to the Commandant James L. Jones telling Toby Keith it was his duty as an American citizen to record the song. "It's your job as an entertainer to lift the morale of the troops," Jones said to Toby Keith. "If you want to serve, that is what you can do."
@@SpotownProductions You should do Toby Keith's Cryin for me (Wayman's song) , It's a tribute song for tribute song for Wayman Tisdale. Him and Toby Keith were close friends. I'll fill you in under the song if you react to it.
I got chills watching this, not from the song but from the reaction. The patriotism of Shawn and Mel was so inspiring to see! May God bless the two of them and anyone reading this now.
I get that weird feeling in my chest every single time I hear this song even all these years later. We have a national anthem and thanks to Toby we have an American anthem.
I lost my husband in Iraq in 2009 on his3rd tour .. he was my Navajo warrior … my boots to the ground marine the never quit till the job is done never leave a man behind , fight With all he had marine … Rest In Peace my warrior ❤️❤️ A’HO ❤️❤️
I'm so sorry. I see this was 2 years ago now. I pray you have found complete peace. It's beautiful you used so many wonderful words and the native at the end. Im part Cherokee. Thank you for your husband's service and ultimately his life to protect strangers like us. Bless you both ❤
Love your reaction. The first time I heard this song I cried because I am proud of all of our veterans. I have many in my family and I love our country as well.
My husband see him twice serving in Iraq he said he was a very talkative person that took a lot time talking with the troops! He is so very missed R.I.P
I'm a 72 year old USAF Veteran and this song is one of the best patriotic songs ever. Ever since we won our freedom in 1776, this country has been helping other countries and fighting for freedom. Messing with the USA is not something that should be on anyone's agenda. War is fought in the trenches, in the sky and at home. Every Veteran who has ever put on a uniform or who has or has not fought, took an oath to protect the United States from enemies both domestic and foreign. My Dad fought in World War II, my brother in Vietnam and me post Vietnam (Looking for POW camps). I am proud to have served and to this day would be happy to re-enlist to serve again to protect my country and family. I love your reaction to this video. I certainly hit home to you folks. Keep up the good work. Love your Patriotism. God Bless America.
I remember when this came out. Right after 911. We were so pissed off!!! This song made me cry. I was in my thirties. So upsetting that happened in our lifetime. Love this song ❤️❤️
My grandfather fought in three wars. He taught me to respect the flag and to respect the uniform. After 9/11, patriotism skyrocketed. I am grateful to the musical artists who have written and sang songs about our country. I’m grateful for all of the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces. I’m grateful that they put their lives on the line every day for us. My nephew is currently serving in the United States Air Force. He has decided to make the Air Force his career. God Bless our Armed Forces!!! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
Loved your reaction, I'm an Immigrant love this country🇺🇸❤ Freedom comes first. CANNOT loose that above all🤟 Today we have to fight for it Again, every generation against the elite and other regimes.
Thank you for this reaction! My husband was there in Bosnia when this video was filmed on the SFOR 11 peacekeeping mission with the US Army Infantry Battalion 150 :)
This is one of those times to remind us Americans what a damn privilege it is to be here and the lowest 5 percent (I am) is easily better than the damn probably 98% of rest of the world. So God bless all my Americans in here and your heritage and families and traditions!!!
My dad's a Vietnam vet and when someone thanks him for his service, he says it's bittersweet because, on one hand, he was proud to serve but, on the other, he's reminded of the boys who didn't make it home, including his friends. There's a song that really tears my dad up and that's Ray Charles' version of "America the Beautiful." You should really check that song out. The soul and pride in his version will move you to tears as well.
It’s been 20 years since 9/11 and I still get that overwhelming feeling when I hear this song or Alan Jackson’s Where We’re You When the World Stopped Turning
Keep in mind this man is multi-millionaire who could have stayed home and enjoyed his night on comfy couch in his mansion but instead he choose to fly into Afghanistan/Iraq and perform for our troops. He is also currently battling cancer so I wish him the best and respect.
I absolutely love the patriotism y'all have. Love our country! We live next to Fort Rucker, Alabama and we have a strong support for our army aviation men and women here.
Thank you for a wonderful reaction video. I have my Dad's flag that draped his casket. He was in Korea and died when I was 10 years old. He would have had a lot of respect for Toby Keith
This song has meant so much to so many people including myself. I served 11 years in the army and deployed twice. I actually missed the first 2 years of my youngest son's life because of my deployments. It was very difficult to get through. It makes me so happy to see people still being respectful to our veterans in the world we live in today. Great reaction to a great song.
Wow. What a wonderful patriotic reaction. So nice to see younger people confess their love and gratitude for America!!!! I would like to tell you a little about Toby. He is from Moore Oklahoma about 20 minutes south of me. I was friends with Toby's Dad. The one he references and shows in the video. I never met Toby but his dad was so proud of him. His Dad was tragically killed in a head on collision by a drunk driver a few months before 9/11. Toby wrote and dedicated this song to honor HK and our military. God bless America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hell yeah, we know the cost, and i am glad your are spreading the message...God Bless America the last of the truly free people...Let's keep it that way for all of us Americans.
It is sooo wonderful to see and hear patriotism from young people today! This was after 911. I remember the first time I heard this song on the radio, I remember the exact place I was at!
This is by far my favorite reaction of y’all’s and is making y’all my fav reaction channel. I love anyone who is proud and loves this amazing country and isn’t ashamed to say it. It’s so sad how these people these days treat our country, our vets, and go out and burn our flag.
Fun Fact. Back when he first appeared on the morning shows to sing this he was asked to remove the word "ass" from the lyrics and he told them NO!. He still sang this version. Not once has he changed it.
You did uplift me...appreciate ya. My hubs is a retired veteran...my dad was a viet nam vet...died from the affects of agent orange...thank you for honoring our precious military. If ya get a chance please react to country singer Craig Morgan songs "This aint nothin'" or "What I love about Sunday" or "Tough"...these songs will touch your heart...Bless you two. Love your voice my Sister...saaannnngggg :)))))))))))))))))))
Toby Keith is freaking phenomenal! I've seen him in concert 5 times! Please dive into some Toby Keith music! One especially is called " I'll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again"!
I love this song, I love Toby’s Patriotism, his care for our troops and our country. This land is your land and this is our land, together, we are all AMERICANS, not Hyphenated Americans, but simply ALL AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check out Toby Keith's, AMERICAN SOLDIER. Also an awesome song. Thanx for posting. I was in the U.S. Army for 10 years, with service in Iraq. I realized that every time I put on that uniform that I was risking my life to keep old Glory flying! Love you guys! 😍😘🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
BEST reaction I’ve ever seen to this song. The pride and love for our beautiful country was so obvious it made me emotional. Thank you for this. This Army wife is proud.
Lol. Toby Keith y'all. Keith is his last name This gives me chills.i am so grateful my Dad, Father in Law, brothers, nephews and husband all made it home safe from their tours of duty. 🙏 Praying no more families have to lose anyone ever again.
Not an easy thing to talk about anymore. My great grandpa served in WW2, my grandpa in Vietnam, Dad didn't serve, then I came around and did two tours in Afghanistan. For those of you who are anti war, please know that the group of people who are way more anti war than you, are the soldiers. I don't wanna speak on my experiences overseas but it's not easy. Even when it does seem easy to most. That's always someone's son in your crosshairs. It's not an easy job to do. But I'd do it again 10 times out of 10. We don't always agree with our leaders but we have a responsibility to respect the chain of command and defend our nation. Much love to everyone, and happy holidays.
I always said, no one wants peace more than a soldier. Just because we are WILLING to put our lives on the line, doesn't mean we WANT to die or kill. My sister and I served. My uncles served. My grandpa and great grandpa served. Many American families have this tradition of service and it makes me very proud!
My grandfather was Thomas claw a marine in the first marine division .. one of the original 29 code talkers .. We lost him in 2009 he only joined to protect his family his Navajo nation , he was happy to serve everyday if that was his service did
I still can't believe that he's gone. I like all different kinds of music but he was one of my favorite country singers. About 30 years ago I had a really good friend who committed suicide and his favorite song was I should have been a cowboy we played this at his funeral every time I hear Toby Keith I think of him. He was only 17 and it was about a girl who he accidentally got pregnant and her family was making his life miserable and they only lived a couple of houses away from each other. Miss you Charlie.
Loved this!!! Gotta love America and you gotta love that we lay differences when we have things like 9/11 and pull together. I watched a thing were one of the terrorist leaders said he couldn’t believe how we pulled together considering the way we fight with each other in this country but we will always pull together in tragedy and we will always bounce back. People don’t understand our tenacity to survive in this country and to stay free.
Appreciate your guys patriotism, so many times I feel forgotten and feel lost as if I shouldn’t have sacrificed. Take care guys thank you this means a lot to see people who are proud
I have to say....you two are my favorite reactors now. Your love for our country and your reaction to this video made me cry. In times when our nation is so divided, it's so great to see proud Americans. 🇺🇸 I'm sharing this with everyone I know!
Toby wrote this right after 9/11 and performed it shortly after in New York. He was a true patriot. He toured with the USO every spring to our troops deployed over seas. He was a wonderful man with a HUGE heart. Sadly, he passed away last night. Please honor him by reacting to his song, "Made in America" which truly embodies the spirit of this legend. His family, his fans, and country music has lost a giant.
Nothing wrong with loving our country and countrymen. Great reaction. =) This song meant a lot to me when it came out after 9/11. We needed a fighting spirit song at that time.
Thank You for your reaction to Toby Keith's song. This was an important song and I come from a military family and all of those who have served in our armed forces and still serve Thank You for keeping us safe and free. We Love you.
As a construction worker and bartender. There’s millions of Americans like me who get goosebumps when we hear this song, the ungrateful ignorant snowflakes we see on democrat controlled colleges are just a tiny fraction of American society. It’s important to keep that in mind
I've listened to this song 100 times and every time it pumps me up! Makes me so proud! I'm so blessed to be an American and it makes me so happy to see others who appreciate what we have and love our country! God Bless America and God bless you guys! ❤️🇺🇲❤
Toby Keith has some great songs so whether you need to hear something heartfelt, patriotic, romantic, sad, melancholy, inspiring, thoughtful, or just plain funny, yeah especially funny, then Toby’s got what you need. My favorite songs by Toby Keith are Who’s That Man; Wish I Didn’t Know Now; You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like That; He Ain’t Worth Missing; We Were In Love; Upstairs Downtown; How Do You Like Me Now; I Wanna Talk About Me; American Soldier; Trailerhood; A Little Too Late; A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action; and of course Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue.
Those fellas that are in the army are good people but when you see them come back they are not the same people but as long as you get them the help they need when they come home and love them every day of your life stay strong and stay safe stick together
