or Gordon. He's literally a living breathing LW who's blisteringly quick, and would always frighten the life out of defenders trying to beat them and get to the byline constantly. Any of these 3 players right now would make much more of an impact than Foden
Who does he think he’s proving wrong, England have been a woeful watch this tournament, we’ve been very lucky to still be in the tournament, and with an easy side of the draw. Also why are England player’s obsessed with criticism , Kane, Bellingham, rice and Foden have all made comments saying people need to stop criticising, but they don’t seem to realise is people are criticising you because we expect much better from you. We all rate you as players, go a prove us wrong on the pitch, not with your gobs in interviews.
@@goldenduck854have you been watching us, just because we’ve just about been getting the job done, doesn’t mean we’ve been entertaining or enjoyable to watch. If we get beat playing like this, don’t be surprised, but if we win the tournament playing like this, I couldn’t care less how we play.
@@goldenduck854 You can't think critically. Winning from a last minute overhead kick after losing to Slovakia has nothing to do with the team but a 1 in a million occurrence, luck basically.
The irony Foden is proving to people the England shirt is too heavy. The media protect him saying it’s the system. Then why is that same system you get individual performances form Jude, Kane, Sterling, Saka, Rashford, Guehi, Shaw etc playing THE SAME system for years under Southgate
@@clipped6963 we just want england to do well. What's all this protection rubbish. It's about encouraging the players to do well so they are more likely to
Foden should be embarrassed saying that, he’s been 2/10 every game and should have been dropped 3 games ago, Cole Palmer is different class and should be starting !
Foden is so protected. They interviewed Saka and they were proding and poking making him feel so uncomfortable. The Foden and Saka debate is ruining this team. Saka is better and because Southgate doesn't want to hurt Foden's feelings or his huge fan base if Saka stays in the pitch then Foden has to. Plus we have the drop Kane issue. Plus they both bottled the pens yet are lauded as World class ans England's best players. Foden is sheltered like Biden. Nice simple and happy questions despite playing so poorly. Palmer can win us the tournament in Foden's spot. Phil gets the ball and passes it to someone else; Palmer would do more with the ball and definitely would get some shots off.
Your performances are proving people wrong - they thought you'd be a world class team, sweeping away opposition, not scraping through with poor performances and relying on the lottery of penalties
*It's all relative though, I think they are playing well relative to the global standard today* which is why we keep doing so well in tournaments in recent years. Since 2018 we have finished 4th in one world cup, and reached the quarter finals in the other, and came second in one of the Euro's and our now in the semi finals of this one. *Realistically, I don't think we can keep saying they are playing badly, or aren't playing well, and just putting it down to luck, when they keep getting good results in tournaments* Compared to whom are they playing badly, teams in 00's, yet those teams aren't around any more, so why make that comparison ?
Well done Faith for calling him out on not taking a pen, really don’t like listening to him speak you can hear it in him he’s knows he’s not that guy for the big moments
I wouldn't quite say he was quite 'avoiding' the ball ... in fact you'd be hard pressed to find any England player who was actually 'on the ball' more than he was .... the problem lay in what he actually managed to do with it .... he just played too many 'safe passes', and no really productive ones! For some reason he just isn't playing with the same freedom or gusto that he shows at City .... whether he's being held back by instructions, or playing with a bit of fear, or is in awe, is difficult to determine , only he will know, but we all know that Phil Foden is a far better player than he's been showing since this tournament began ..... this is a guy who enjoyed his best ever scoring season in the Premier League.
If that one shot goes in and we win and go through, who actually cares? If England were winning every group game 4-0 and then lost in the last 16 or Quarters, absolutely everyone would be raging.
@@OhTylerB erm we ain't Greece? Kane, Foden, Bellingham, Watkins, Palmer all coming off the back of 20+ goal seasons🔥 then you've got Gordon and Toney sprinkled in for good measure - and your out here defending that +1 shot on goal, which let me remind you was individual brilliance from Bellingham and Saka! I'm simply dumbfounded, baffled how people think by reaching a semi final 'it's good' it's the equivalent to sipping a pint which is totally watered down - looks the business but once you delve deeper - all is not what it seems
@@goldenduck854 you sound the type to get offended when I said 'baffled how people think, reaching a semi final is good' - don't get literal and take out of context what I meant - use your head I'm talking about how, and being very fortunate
some mad hate in the comments , thought he looked good in the first half the other day . the interviewer is horrible btw she was the same the other day .
Like how he said hearing the fans sing his name makes him almost want to do well, the way he plays can see the fans aren’t enough motivation mate he needs daddy sheik to motivate him some more box him up and send him to the desert
You’re not proving anyone wrong. Being ridiculously lucky, scraping through games whilst playing awful football is not proving anyone wrong. These guys need a humbling 😭
He's getting stick but Foden has nobody to play one-twos with in this England team as he does for City. There's no movement and inter-changing which is something his club are all about. Basically he's too good for Gareth Southgate's tactics. But I guarantee you he will suddenly look considerably better having Luke Shaw behind him (hopefully) against the Netherlands, and not a past his best right-back playing at left-back. (Trippier)
Sorry Phil, but England are not playing football like worthy champions, a narrow win against Serbia and all draws against Slovenia , Slovakia and Switzerland. And then winning depending on extra time and penalties on the latter 2 games. Just so unconvincing. You guys are just riding on your luck. I don't see you guys winning against Holland.
This interviewer interviews in the style of a fanboy. It's a hard watch. Also, Foden, it's time to step up mate. The country is waiting for you, the country is with you!
The next step is being stuffed by Netherland. Especially after watching Spain and France. These primadonnas are deluding themselves. Foden himself has been woeful in this competition. Maybe a lot less talk to the media and a bit more focus and commitment on the pitch might help. What an absolute bore fest they've been throughout. Spain for the win.
Never wanted an England side to lose before, but the attitude stinks. You aren't proving anybody wrong there's been one win in 90 minutes and should have lost to Slovakia.
Foden started out as a dynamic player who tried to beat a man and make things happen. That's almost completely gone from his game now, particularly when playing for England, with his first thought now being to pass the ball as soon as he gets it. Shame.
Yep totally agree , I'm a Man City fan and his performances at this tournament have been really poor . At one point I counted , out of 10 passes he received, 9 times out of 10 , he passed it straight back to the same player . What the hells happened to the player who used to take players on ?
These players and Southgate are so misguided, everyone expects them to win; how are they proving us wrong? Just play with a bit of style, is it too much to ask???
Where's all the clowns that said we was never gonna beat Switzerland??? I told you we will step it up we have the easiest route to the final with piss easy teams and world class players we're bringing the euros home
Yikes, look at all of these embarrassing comments. Grown men acting like tribal children. If Foden doesn’t succeed in an England shirt, it’ll be another Scholes situation. Southgate was finally utilizing him in a box-midfield, and he was a standout against Switzerland.
How can he was the standout player against Switzerland when all statistics official sites rate him the 2nd worst England players?? Just Look at whoscored, sofascore, and the wyscout on how bad was Foden is
He only won 5 take-ons (success dribble) until 5 matches. Do you know how many take-ons did Saka and Bellingham won? Yes, morethan 8. He only made 2 big-chances killer pass from 5 matches. Do you know how many Saka and Bellingham did? Yes, morethan 5.
I RATHER SCRAP WINS THAN LOSE SALUTE SOUTHGATE FOR BRINGING ANOTHER SEMI AND A CHANCE TO WIN WHICH NONE OF THESE PUNDITS OR MANAGERS NEVER CAME CLOSE TO DOING BUT CRITICISING SOUTHGATE , BIG UP GARETH DONT LISTEN TO THESE CLOWNS!!!!
Sorry Phil your not proving people wrong...I'd say vast majority of the Country thought or wanted England to win the Euros so hopefully despite the Manager you can do it.
Delusional, proven nobody wrong Foden, in 5 games against minnows of world football, populations 2-5 million, in normal time, won 1, drawn 4, why England will win nothing under Southgate, arrogance
You’ve won one game in 90 minutes of football against Serbia and believe you’re proving us all wrong. It’s actually embarrassing to admit it as an England supporter that we don’t deserve to win the trophy and if we do it won’t be out of respect by the other teams of the past that dominated convincingly like France Spain or even Italy that beat us in our own backyard with an aging team. It’s pathetic to say the least.
@ SimonFlynn-un1ur You haven’t got the right to tell anyone to be quiet I’m just as entitled to my opinion as you are to yours. England have been awful the entire tournament. 1 win in 90 minutes of football a maximum of 1 goal scored in 90 minutes claiming to have the best squad in the world. Maybe our media machine should keep their mouth quiet and it would save us all the embarrassment when we finally come up against a more competent team that takes us to task. The players really do bring it on themselves doing these interviews. Zero self awareness.
@@SimonFlynn-un1ur I’m not just saying. Luke Shaw said his goal against Italy means nothing, he scared in a euro final but winners know unless you take the ultimate prize those moments are worthless. Not going to look back and think remember that time we went to penalties in a quarter final and won then lost the next game
@joshhenry2389 sure but it is too early to beat Southgate and the players. Give them a chance. It's not gareths fault they haven't won it yet!! Criticism is okay when we are knocked out. That's the time to do it
@@SimonFlynn-un1ur the criticism is because the football doesn’t suit the players and isn’t interesting, but people don’t care now because it’s only about winning now and he’s doing the business. Winning silences haters
@joshhenry2389 well it must be interesting because everyone likes to talk about it. I think the problem is people think it is easy. It is a heavy shirt and the players are doing their best. Some of them are so young and have barely played for England . They must be wondering what on earth is going on
