A clarification about this show, it’s called One Day because every episode takes place on July 15 from 1988 to 2008. They fill in the blanks about the rest of the year in each episode. Also, Dex did not send the care package, it was from her mother, her mom just included the postcard that Dex sent to the house. The same way Dex’s parents give him Emma’s letters. I’m guessing they move around too much to mail stuff directly to each other so they send it to their parents’ homes

She was recounting that visit while writing a letter to him in the van, and Dex’s mother also mentioned Emma, saying she liked her better than all the other girls Dex has brought over. Someone already commented before me, but we’ll see Dex and Em every July 15 and they will be filling us in about some of the unseen details of their past year.

@13:50 clarification : Dex would send his mail to her parents, and they would send it to her wherever she would be at the time. But they would also send her job listings and socks, and things about leads because they want her to move back.

I really liked that this show does an awesome job of storytelling and showing how life can be challenging and messy and also so rewarding…I just really liked the rawness of it all.

I love that they’re still connected but apart from one another. That takes effort especially in the 80s.

A thing in a lot of British/irish shows is class and the differences between the working and middle. Both in normal people and this (and countless others), one is working class and one is middle class. So when you said theyre just very different people, her being stressed and him swanning around in Rome, its because money buys you that kind of life. Going to uni as a working class person meant working alongside study, but friends i made there who came from money just went out and didnt worry. Like connel and Marianne, when she said she didn't really think about money and he was bothered when his friends kept referencing that his mam was a cleaner for hers. Class is a big thing in British and irish culture, British (English really) moreso, not just money but class itself as in where you went to school, where were you born, etc. It's more of a topic here than it is for you guys so doesn't always translate as well.

Between One Day and TVD reactions im getting gifted almost every day 🥰 y'all have truly become one of my favorite channels to watch. I feel like were homies each time we watch together lol. Emma and dex meet up or every episode starts with the day they meet but a year later. So the beginning of this episode with the date is the same day when they met at the party but a year later

Emma’s mom was the one sending her the socks and the job ad in Leeds. She forwarded dex’s postcards for Emma too. Dexter is not much a writer so most of the time he would send her postcards with a sentence like Rome’s so cool!!! Or something like that.

Yaay, another reaction vid! Btw, their AKA Dex & Em. Dex called her Emily for banter :) because his mum accidentally said that in episode 1 but they did say bye to each other on the steps in Edinburgh using their right nicknames. Looking forward to see more reactions from you guys on this show.

Random thought but anytime I watch a show set in Britain and they mention a place I know like Wolverhampton and solihull is near where I live I’m like shocked lol anyways yeah I feel like the show is gonna be sad like you guys said but it will certainly be a miracle if zuff “coughs up a tear” lol 😂😂

The package was from Emma’s mum. She literally says it to the Black guy when he asks her . Her mum was just forwarding the posts cards to her from Dex just like his mom was forwarding her letters to him coz they were both on the move.

The package was from em’s mother that’s only glimpse of her family you get while dex get tons more coverage. Episode 4 and 10 are the best. Show stalls in the middle and ending is cheap but last shot of the show is very lovely

This show is a remake from a movie called one day by Anne Hathaway and it's just as heart breaking
