7:19 But she can't relax until she knows that at least one of them can produce another heir - she and George aren't going to live forever and neither are any of their children, the fact the two of them (actually three of them in real life) had already died (two boys died in childhood, Amelia died in her mid twenties re that scene in season 1) is proof of that. They can't just leave it to chance that when one of them dies the other will inherit the throne, sooner or later they'll run out of them and then they'll just have to pass the crown off to the nearest distant relatives they could find and that has generally meant a massive headache for everyone.

Ah so excited for y'all's reactions! QC is def my fav season yet until Benedicts maybe? I do also hope they do a season about Violet Bridgerton, I think that should be the series finale of Bridgerton - seeing how it all started ahh it'd be so cute.

I watched the 1st season of Bridgreton then Queen Charlotte and finally season 2 of Bridgreton. I think that was the best order. Just a little background: King George III was the King during the American Revolution. It is not clear what mental illness he had but eventually it became so bad that George IV, Prince of Wales, became Regent. Although he is not mentioned at all, George IV was Regent at the time of the main series.

Just confirming in case there were any doubts, the man who keeps crying is George the Prince Regent and future King George the Fourth, he's Charlotte and George the Third's eldest son. Here his drinking can be put down to grief but otherwise he was known for his drinking and has generally been seen as something of a joke in history (though not a complete idiot like the George of the tv series 'Blackadder the Third') The woman who just died giving birth to a baby who also died is his daughter (also called Charlotte I think). George and his wife Caroline near famously hated each other (he didn't even invite her to his coronation, apparently he only agreed to marry her because parliament agreed to pay off his debts if he did so - apparently he declared bankruptcy twice during his regency) but apparently he adored their daughter so his grief is very real (I'm guessing him and his wife hating each other is the reason they didn't have other children and why we never see her in this show), and she was a lot more popular with the general public than her father and grandfather so people were genuinely mourning her at her funeral.
