LiSa is a staple in anime openings. She also sings for anime like Sword Art Online and Fate/Zero, and those songs are easily just as amazing. She never disappoints

Fun fact that may not be that fun: Homura was actually based on her real life story. She lost someone that was her light and now moving forwards without glancing back like Tanjiro and Rengoku. That’s why she sounded so emotional during her take and that’s what she meant when she said “it reminded me of many things”

When Homura came out in The First Take, it was a hard year for LiSA, compared to how happy she was in Gurenge. Between all the drama and her husband cheating on her. She just channeled all those emotions in her songs. She's really something. Such a strong person.

Actually if you wanted to watch it, Aimer performed the entertainment district op on first take as well, called Zankyosanka. Quite great as well

Lisa is THE GOAT btw, she is so popular in the anime industry, when her husband cheated on her, he got fired from all his voice actor roles. and they were big ones. serves him right!

A few things to note: 1. Anime typically release in 1 of 3 patterns: - Half seasons (this refers to 12/13 episode series/a season). - Full seasons (this refers to 24-26 episode series/seasons). - Constant/undefined (referring to non stop until it finishes, or perhaps a hiatus and return, examples: One Piece has been going for over 1000 weeks lol, Fairy Tail did 175 episodes non stop, took a year or so break, did another 100, took another year then finished with 50ish) 2. Typically I believe Japanese artists are given the general plot of a show, perhaps what the adapting arc is about, the character overlay, and the overall tone, they may then say a theme they wish to be in the song is loss, or overcoming something. Then the artist is usually given creative freedom. To the best of my knowledge LiSa has written all her songs, with maybe a little assistance from staff? But I know she writes her own music for anime a lot of the time as she's dedicated the writing and song to her deceased family and stuff at concerts. 3. She isn't a voice actor, HOWEVER, it's not uncommon AT ALL for voice actors to sing songs in the show or/and to be trained to sing in general. Re Zero has such a song, perhaps the most powerful in its season. Idol culture is huge in Japan, young women (and men, just less commonly) will typically undergo a variety of vocal training courses, they branch out into voice acting, being an idol, a singer, heck a ton now become V-Tubers and make their own music later down the line. Personal note: I've always loved Japanese music, I believe it still holds a value that a lot of western music has lost, don't get me wrong, I love my bops and such too, but outside of some rap and rock music, you often find music is becoming dumbed down or/and less personal. E.g. Rap used to be about expressing pain, hardship, etc. Now half is about doing drugs, crime, and sex... 😅 On the other hand, Japanese music still typically tells a story or has emotion to it. The west still has this, but due to the aforementioned, my playlist is pretty much half Japanese, half rock/metal. Got a few bops in there too I guess.

35:35 The lyrics here was "Set your heart ablaze" which was the same sentence Rengoku said to Tanjiro before he died. I don't know why they changed it but that line really got me when I first heard this song.

Actually the 1st Opening Hashira's Shoot/Scene was very, VERY special.. LiSA changed the lyrics just for that one scene! The original lyrics if she sang it EVERYWHERE, even in the 1st take was 'Arigato, kanashimi o' which means, 'I thank you for the sadness', WHILE in that special one Hashira's scene the lyrics was, 'Nando demo tachiagare!' which means, 'No matter how many times, I'll stand up once again!'. Beautiful lyrics and a very fitting one, wasn't it? Just for that Hashira's scene, the ones who will never give up no matter what! I love it very much! And 'Homura', oh... 'Homura' was my all-time favorite! The lyrics OMG... Especially that 'Mirai no tame ni' which means 'fo future's sake', soooo Rengoku-san! Because he chose to sacrifice himself for the future of Demon Slayer Corps, which he entrusted to Tanjiro and co. plus his remaining fellow Hashira!

Lisa sang OP2 Akeboshi on The First Take and it was released yesterday, and Aimer also sang OP3 Zankyosanka on The First Take too. Hope you guys make a video reaction about it ^^

You know, I've been watching your videos on and off for over a year now. I don't watch all of them, but the ones that I do, I really really like. There's something special about you two. The fact that you remember things from the show you watch. Your technical inputs. The back and forth. All of it. You're just so different from other reactors that I know of. I'm sorry for not being subscribed for so long. I have subscribed now and will probably check your Patreon later as well. I really feel like you're one of those channels that will be more successful in the future, and I want to be there when you do it.

OP3 is so subtle and the way it's visuals are put together is brilliant and the song itself suits Tengen perfectly. Flashy, but the lyrics have "Never Give Up" energy. Lisa's "Gurenge" is still my favourite, that song and it's lyrics are Demon Slayer.

My favourite opening was Gurenge, to the point where it was my most listened song on spotify for 2021😂

There's something I hadn't noticed before about the openings until now. In the Mugen Train opening, Rengoku and Tanjiro pop up and then go in different directions for the action shot. In the Entertainment District opening, Tengen and Tanjiro op up the same way and then go in the same direction(the same direction as Tanjiro went in the Mugen Train opening) for the action shot. I can't help but wonder if this is an allusion to the fate of the two Hashira. Rengoku goes in a different direction(after crossing paths with Tanjiro) perhaps foreshadowing his death and his inspiring Tanjiro but remaining in the past. Tengen goes in the same direction(and stands behind Tanjiro) perhaps foreshadowing that he will not die and will support Tanjiro as he moves forward or that Tanjiro will surpass him. The second part of each of those could be a stretch but I think the first part makes sense.

The third OP is my favorite. The vibes, the music and its flow, the animation felt like they were constantly moving towards the final fight. It's so great

Great reactions guys! But u all missed out the song in Episode 19. It’s called Tanjiro No Uta (in English called Tanjiro’s song). Literally it’s the main character song. The full song with lyrics is amazing! It tells u how Tanjiro actually felt up to that point of time! The lyrics and bridge n climax are beautiful yet meaningful❤

The second intro was the one with Big spoilers, because is not made for the movie, is made for the episode version of the arc, for people who already watched the movie

Really enjoying the nice combo of one being able to pick up the musical side of things and the other just crying the whole time 🤣 It's a really nice balance.

The interesting part is their music album of Demon Slayer especially the soundtrack, the instrumentals, and orchestral soundtrack. It gives a wholesome and capricious just by listening to it.

In fact Japanese singers are very talented, Lisa is one of them, she's amazing, she's unique, but the great thing is that Japanese singers... each one of them has a style and talent that feels authentic. I recommend you enter the musical world of Japan because it is very good. My favorite singer is Minami and her voice is spectacular :). Love 4 you 2 :D

LiSa is just great. Like, the show itself may have dubious writing (Looking at you, Sword Art Online) but you know the opening is going to be amazing if she's the one singing it. And those first takes... You don't get there with hard work alone. You don't get there with talent alone. She's got both and that's how she got there.

When I was on furlough from my job during the pandemic, I bought a ticket to watch LiSA in concert online & it was breathtaking.

The lirics, that's what you'll find in most of Japanese song, they are like poem with deep meaning and message. Many are uplifting, some others are sad and depressing, some has different interpretation due to Japanese language itself sometimes has different meaning regarding the context. Hope you react to other J-Rocs/Pops either from Anime or not.

All ops and eds of demon Slayer are done by the same music composer Yuki kajiura (she did multiple songs for Lisa and aimer as well) she's one of the best composers around and she sometimes does OSTs for ds too but majority of the OST's are done by the main composer Go Shinna Yuki kajira written all the songs Lisa contributed too I heard that akeboshi was inspired from the edge (E1) and homura and the lyrics are connected as well it seems idk that for sure cuz I dont know Japanese but It was mentioned officially....

Actually theres a documental of LIsa in netflix (the first of a j-pop singer) when you can saw that she is watching demon slayer

In japanese there are no 'letters' like in english, they have 'characters' that represents sounds/syllables. There are the vowels that are each represented by a character, and the rest are a combination of a consonant and a vowel - "Ka, ki, ku, ke, ko", "ga, gi, gu, ge, go"...etc. When written, you pronounce all the syllables distinctly. So it's not 'gurenje' like you pronounced it, it's "Gu ren ge" (guren 'gey')

But there's a movie that I think you won't be able to hold yourself: Grave of the Fireflies (1988). It's a really sad and beautiful animation movie by Studio Ghibli, based on a true story.
