This is one of the best music videos ever created - Tyler always had confidence he would make it but filming 12 people and now allowing people to see that footage is incredible - most artists wouldn't want to show that - they'd want people to think they were always big Tyler's tattoos in this video are all real- they all mean something to him but he won't tell people unless they ask him in person The last portion is live - good ear - they sound exactly the same live and you'll get suggestions for live performances because they're all so good- I've been to tons of concerts and theirs are by far the best I've ever been to The song itself isn't one of their most popular musically wise but it's perfect for this video and a great way to learn about their story- the lyrics are actually really deep but you're so into the video it's hard to catch - the entire last verse is about his struggles with his faith and how he feels like he denies God in his music- it's all buried in metaphors and he's rapping quick so hard to catch on one listen I'd recommend Migraine Lane Boy
“Migraine”- “Holding on to you”- “Chlorine “-“Heavy Dirty Soul”- “Lane Boy”- “My Blood”-“Fairly Local”& my personal favorites….”Cut My Lip” & “Kitchen Sink”. Fun fact: This was one of Chester Bennington’s favorite bands and there’s a video of him singing “Heavy Dirty Soul” on RU-vid.
That is a great live performance. I saw them live on the Bandito Tour and was amazed by so much of the show including that they sound Bette than the studio versions. Also, the fact that the audience knows ever word to every song including 300 word per minute fast raps. They truly consider the fans part if “Twenty One Pilots” and not merely spectators. How Tyler can run from one end of the arena to the other, climb to uppers levels and sing with fans in the balcony that are grabbing all over him without being out of breath is unnaturally great. You almost need to have two Tylers
Pretty much anything from the Fox Theater is amazing. I saw them on there Emotional Roadshow tour and it was an experience that I will never forget. I'm dying to go see them again. They just don't make bad music. It's different and they try new things all the time. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it hits a little less but it never misses. They are amazing. I am in awe of them, big time!
I get so emotional watching others discovering twenty one pilots. Great reaction and you did a good job on picking up on so much. Going more in-depth with the lyrics with them can be rewarding too. I’m really hoping you check out lots more from them, you may want to check out Lane Boy from them next.
If you get a lot of the Clique coming in to see the TOP journey you will learn so much about how committed these guy are to their art. Especially when you get to the more cinematic videos and into the Twenty Pilots lore which requires a lot of study, research, and figuring out hidden clues in secret websites to follow the story. Once you get through “Vessel”, the last three albums are a concept albums which go together to tell a story. The Skeleton Clique are the Twenty One Pilots fans and are the most dedicated fans in music. By the way “Heathens” is part of the Lore about the fans that jump on board because of the hype of Blurryface and take the journey you are now on and slowly become part of the Clique.
I don't know of any other band that would not only think to record a show with 12 people, but to record that show so they could use it in a music video when they got big. Absolutely frickin awesome!
I haven't had the honour of seeing TOP live, but almost everyone I've seen who has says it's one of if not the best live music experience they've had. Even people who've been going to concerts for decades tout TOP as one of the greatest
Yep. Over 100 concerts in the past 30+ years. Never had a favorite just a top ten faves. The first & 2nd time I saw them, firmly 1st & 2nd of all time.
@@Lenny-ue8hkI saw them when they went to Wellington a few years ago and it was my top live concert (out of 28) easily. Only been beaten by Stray Kids who I saw this year, but still incredibly close. I really hope you get to see them live at some point, if they came back to NZ, no question I would go again 😅
Recommendation list in order to understand the growth of the band and meaning behind their lyrics (last albums are conceptual): 1st lane : Vessel album - Ode to sleep (music video) + - Car radio (music video) + - holding on to you (music video or live from Fox theater) - guns for hands (music video) - migraine (The live room version) - trees (live from fox theater ! - song with one of the biggest meaning for Tyler , he wrote it a looong time ago in high school ) 2nd line : blurryface album - stressed out (music video, huge song that made them so popular right now) - lane boy (music video) - ride (live from Fox theater) - hometown (lyrics video) - tear in my heart (music video) - the judge (lyrics video) - fairy local (music video) - message man (lyrics video) - goner (live from fox theatre , ending of the album) - Heavydirtysoul ( music video - this one is the connection to the next album, start of storyline) 3rd line : Trench album - jumpsuit ( music video , connected to hvdrtsl) - nico and the niners (music video, next one in saga) - levitate (music video, next one in saga) - chlorine (music video) - the hype (BOTH, album and Berlin session versions ) - my blood (music video) - pet cheetah (lyrics video) - morph (lyrics video, a bit of connection to storyline) - Heathens ( music video, spin off, not from any album but have a lot of small connections to story) - neon gravestones (lyrics video, influence to the story) - legend (lyrics video) - bandito (lyrics video, huge connection in storyline) - leave the city ( lyrics video, ending of era ) 4th line : Scaled and Icy album - Shy away (music video) - Choker (music video) - Saturday (music video) - Outside (music video) - No chances - Redecorate 5th line (extra) - TOP x Mutemath session - stripped down storyteller session by Tyler - kitchen sink (live version) - fall away (feat dr. I found out about Twenty Pilots through my niece almost ten years ago. They have been my favorite musicians ever since. They are the definition of music as an art form
Ode to sleep will always be one of my favourite TØP songs! From the raps to the transitions, to the message. Everything about it is so satisfying! They're honestly amazing😂
This reaction - this is why I love watching people discover TØP- that’s how I felt as their music unfolded to me. Then you see more and it grows exponentially. & then you start learning the lore & the work put in behind the music, the whole world created & your mind is blown again. But for now stuck to the music to learn what they are about & the lore will unfold. Total journey Your reactions are so enthusiastic & great!
They have always kept tickets prices incredibly fair so all their fans can afford to see them live (39 for nose bleeds, 59 and 79 for more premium seats, and 89 for floor). But no matter what you pay, their concerts are worth every penny; they are a life-changing experience. Those boys leave every single thing they have on the stage every single show. O have seen them within the first 3 shows of the tour and again within the last 4 of the tour (which was 15 months long) and they were just as freaking energetic and amazing.
They try to keep ticket prices fair, and then TM goes oh sorry we're calling those "premium seating" and doubling and tripling the price (or more.) I got floor tix for this tour during the fan advance sale... $99 plus fees. An hour later, TM actual price (not resale) $199 + fees.
I had missed a lot of work because of COVID, only had $100 in the bank, I bought tickets to the icy tour 1 hour before they went on because I couldn’t stand the thought of missing them
@@tcphelan23It’s not necessarily TØP’s fault, it’s mainly the scalpers that are reselling tickets at moronically inflated prices. When you think about cost of everything that goes into touring and performance, prices are still relatively fair, the more popular an artist/band are, the higher prices can be expected to rise
Listen my Dudes...I am 51 and LOVE this band. Their live show energy in UNMATCHED! Going with my daughter (25) to our fifth show in the pit (with all the young energetic kiddos) next month. My absolute favorite place to be. Fun fact....started drum lessons three years ago because of this band. Great reaction!
Just turned 50. Even with arthritic knees and sore feet, I've only ever done pit. (I did sit on the floor for awhile until after the opening act was done lol.)
@@lisaperkie7551 due to arthritic knees and foot pain if I stand for too long, I was tempted to borrow my moms walker so I could sit if I needed lol. I am able to do it, just can't jump and dance as much as I'd like.
Im going to hold off on the lore right now. But these guys have created a whole world of lore in real life and their videos. Everything is done with purpose. I would suggested Lane Boy next. It will scratch that rapping itch and is just a cool ass song.
Probably one of the most talanted musicians of all time in terms of creativity and i know how crazy it sounds. And this band is probably the most vital band of the last decade.
Just wait until they find out that they have indepth lore that spans the last 3 album releases (since 2015) and the effort the fandom has put in to understand the lore. So much passion in tøp, I used to be super into them but I haven't been into it for a while now although I will never lose respect for their creativity and work ethic.
Great reaction! Please check out Migraine next. To really follow their album stories, I believe you should react to their music in album order. React to all the music from Vessel first, then Blurryface, etc. It will be much less confusing.
I agree in album order. Some reactors get so confused and thrown off. If you're going on the journey. Start from beginning for sure. We're here for journey
This video inspires me so much as an artist. The fact that 2 men can gives so much for and too a crowd of 12 people and not caring and on top of that just knowing it will work one day is truly inspiring❤
Awesome reaction. These guys are on another level, love them! Check out Lane Boy, Fairy Local (so underrated imo), Ride, even Stressed Out if you’ve already listened to it. The MV is great.
I'm so happy you enjoyed this one. FYI a fan got to name this song. They grew so far because so many ppl especially the youth can relate to Tyler. Through his music we "STAY ALIVE" . The lyrics are sad but coaching for us but the music is so uplifting we sometimes don't realize had sad the lyrics really are. This is just the beginning. Thank you for reacting to this for me. Love and appreciate you two
Please do more twenty one pilots!? Love your reactions! I'm subscribing in hope for more twenty one pilots! =D "Lane boy", "Fairly local" and "Message man" are my absolute favorites and I think you would like them to! ^.^ Stay good and healthy! Love from Norway
yes! yes! yes! TOP is pinnacle! this is truly a journey worth taking. Dig down, float above, skip two lanes, reverse, sail away - TOP has it all. You can't go wrong with these two, they're unmatched as artists! Def here to experience more TOP with you!!!! 💛💙💛
Yes they are real tattoos BTW. The is 100 percent real. His music, his love and loyalty he has for his fans. After you react to one of their songs. Pull up lyrics and listen to it again and you will be mind boggled. Do that on your own time. He knows a thing or two about pain and darkness. Through his music we've seen his struggle and in that he gives us hope and really good fucking music. That not everyone gets.
@@Rykerroad for sure, keep going with this guys. I thought the black line around his chest was tape of some sort. I don't remember seeing it under his black tank tops he wore later on. I could be wrong. All the arm ones are real, for sure.
this was the best reaction to Ode to Sleep i’ve seen on youtube. y’all just earned a like and a new sub. Tyler and Josh are crazy talented, super inspirational and you can just see how much they care and love for their fans.
my ex's band played a few local shows with them in Cincinnati (they're from columbus) in 2011 and i still say their show is easily top 3 all time best shows I've EVER seen live. i had never heard of them before that night and it felt like i had listened to them for years by the time their set was over. their energy is unbelievable!
I'm glad that you guys like them! Great reaction! :D The 12 people gig in the video was the first outside Ohio, they were somewhat famous in their own city.
How can you not like this band is the perfect reaction to 21 Pilots. My friend and I took our girls to see them only knowing Stressed Out. By the end of the concert we were hooked and went by ourselves to see them at Firefly in DE. Just found your channel and lovin it 🤘
you say "how could you not like this band?" you have no idea how great and amazing they are. keep it up with their reactions, you will gasp more than once I promise😀😀
I saw them live in 2019, they are INCREDIBLE live! Not only are they INSANELY talented musicians, but they are TRUE PERFORMERS too! Their shows are so pretty, high energy, astounding! Josh playing drums on a palette in the crows really does happen! Coolest show ever!!!!❤❤❤
Heavy dirty soul, jumpsuit, levitate, nico and the nines, morph, migraine, holding onto you, my blood, guns for hands. Any and all live performances, especially at the fox theater. You guys are great reactors. Do their whole library. You'll be massive fans soon enough. You haven't even listened to the tracks that he really flows on or the tracks he screams on.
You havnt yet scratched the surface of the creativity you'll find TOP music! Please keep going! I highly recommend "Lane Boy" and "Trees (live at the fox theater)" in terms of solo videos to watch and enjoy, but you really should do a series going through their Trench album as it was the first of a 3 album story line that tells an underlying story. (The second album in that story was their latest album called "Scaled and Icy". The third has not come out yet!) Much love!
Twenty One Pilots holds a soft spot in my heart because I listened to their albums nonstop when I was in a terrible headspace and very depressed. Really happy y'all are giving 'em a shot!
You have only just begun the TOP journey!! You will not be disappointed with any of their music. Amazing musicians!! Live at the Fox Theatre is a must ❤🔥
I remember watching this the 1st time & thinking the same thing....Tyler giving Freddie Mercury vibes. My son is 6 & this is his favorite 21 Pilots song.
they have a sick show. i saw them at nautica pavilion in 2014 or 15, cant remember. they did the josh crowd surf on the drum kit, tyler did a crowd dive off a 15 foot pole, they did a drum platform crowd surf drum battle with both of them playing and blue man group style effects. so cool
The way he collapsed into the crowd of like 12 ppl and it was shot by reel bear media (mark) who is his best friend and still shoots all their videos to this day
I need more TOP!! Trees and Ride are on my playlist I listen to when I need to escape, de-stress, etc. Just really starting to get into their music... at 56 years old!! LOL, would have said BS if you told me 20 years ago that I would be listening to this style of music in my 50's!!
A few years ago, I was vaguely familiar with Twenty One Pilots. Liked the few songs I heard but never felt compelled to dive into their discography or even check out a video. I was at Lollapalooza in 2019 while they were playing. I had 20 free minutes before another band I really wanted to see would be playing at the festival, so I figured I'll just watch the beginning of the Twenty One Pilots set before moving on. I stayed and watched the whole thing. I can't even tell you who it was that I thought I wanted to see more than them. They are amazing live performers, their skill and artistic vision and crowd engagement is mesmerizing. I was all in on them from that day forward.
This video is pure genius. It just keeps building up so by the time you get to the “live” part your jacked and ready to go. The song does grow on you. I was in such a “metal” place when I found TØP that it took a little time for me to get into them. Now I have seen them a couple times live and own all their albums. As others have said… best concert I’ve been to. Which says a lot considering I’ve seen Metallica, Godsmack, Pantera, and MANY more. TØP still tops them all. Glad you guys enjoyed this. I know I did. ✌🏻💕😊
“How can you not like this band?” Haha exactly!! And yes, their concerts are unforgettable. Their emphasis from the beginning was their live shows. So that’s why this video is cool, since it showed their progression and commitment to their fans to give them all they got. It’s also why their fan base (the clique) is so insanely loyal. Tyler’s vision is on a whole other level …. And you haven’t even gotten to the Trench era. Buckle up for that journey.
My first concert of theirs was Bandito tour in Canada. I live in Minnesota, but didn't hear about them until Trench, and then missed them in my home state. So, I decided to drive almost 7 hours to see them lol
@@mikey9997 I've driven to Chicago many times for various concerts. Now I know to keep an eye on Winnipeg because it takes about the same time to drive lol.
This song tells everyone who believes a song needs to follow a blueprint of staying down the same lane so to speak, to f*ck off and we’ll do what we want with our art!!! And I freakin love it!!
This is my second time watching this. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE watching you two react to the BØI'S! You guys crack me up! It's awesome watching someone appreciate them for everything they are!
I love your reactions to them. Please keep going down the rabbit hole. I'm here for it. Dive into as much of their library as you can. All the TOP fans will be all in for it. Their lyrics and flow and storytelling are 2nd to none. The vessel album that this is from is great. Blurryface is where they blew up to the masses. The trench album is a masterpiece. Self titled is before vessel with a different feel but the talent is still there.
heavydirtysoul live at the fox theater. You guys gotta check it out! Also I feel like Kyle would really appreciate their song Jumpsuit. For Eric, I would suggest Lane Boy. There’s so much to love about this band and so much variety in their music. I just saw them live on Wednesday, and it was the best concert I’ve ever been to, if you can catch them live, I highly recommend it.
Lane Boy song is perfect for TwentyOne Pilots - their response to people telling them to pick a lane and stay in their lane The Hype is a great song but visually tells the story of their progression as an artist
Hey Kyle!! Its your Big Lots Boss ( IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW ...HA )Just found you here but I gotta tell you the rabbit hole you could go down with 21 pilots is long and deep for sure !! They are from Columbus and truly don't have a bad song. Check out "Lane Boy" and if you like the Tyler rapping for sure the whole "Trench " album.
my 2 most favorite bands when it comes to expression hav to be Twenty One Pilots and NF. their lyrical content alone is just master class in art and expression and their music videos have so much meaning
some things I wanted to list off for future reference -Tyler loves to scream, it'll be in some album tracks, live shows he'll scream, and in session versions of track he WILL scream mans just likes to scream -Both Tyler and Josh love doing cool things during shows to make it interesting (ex. having the crowd hold up a drum set while Josh drummed off of it) - about Car Radio his actual car radio was stolen and he wrote a song about while being emo -and lastly most of there recent albums have a series narrative conceptual projects so there's lore to be found in certain tracks tbh I'd love to see full album reactions but i know that would be hard to film/edit But hey id highly recommend you guys check out Rare Americans they're an indie rock band from Vancouver and they have a plethora of animated music videos (personal favs are Cats, Dogs, and Rats, Brittle Bones Nicky 1&2, and Gas Mask)
