We try to recreate some scenes from the original TOP GUN in one day! Is it even possible??? Are we crazy????? Yes we are. Check out FLUX laser cutters on this link: aff.flux3dp.com/sliceoflife
Amazing. You guys never cease to amaze with your ingenuity. Truly a testament to what one can do with a good idea and some determination, funding be damned. And all using traditional film techniques on top of that!
Your videos continue to be beyond inspiring! So much valuable information here that I can't wait to use for the bigger projects I have planned. Keep it up and thank you!
You’re gonna have Tom Cruise knocking at your door in no time. Loved this guys, highly entertaining. Some shots of the planes flying where you mount the camera and plane together, so the plane stays stationary and the background spins around might have looked cool. Nolan does it in Interstellar a few times with the camera mounted on parts of their ship. Makes for a cool sort of point of view shot.
Yes, these shots are cool indeed. We managed to do only one when the enemy plane appears behind the hero plane. Didnt have time to experiment more with it.
I like how you solve problems using film techniques such as backdrop projection. The color is gorgeous, you are great. I won't say that there is a reflection on the glasses, I only say it out of jealousy because I would never be able to make such a thing!!
4:44 Brothers, those are the handles for the ejection seat mechanisms (for if and when the pilots experience extreme problems in the jet). You're very much welcome!
The other day we went to see new Top Gun - Maverick, and at one point Tom Cruise explains it to Miles Teller, and we were all like: Ohhhhhhhh, that's what it's for! Hahahaha. but wait, come to think, shouldn't Miles know that? He's a top gun pilot for Christ's sake.... Ah... movies.. haha
Absolute legends! I would love to see how you guys would tackle the space genre like "The Expanse" as that would be a good fit for your talents. I am still awestruck at your Bladerunner tribute.
You captured the essence of Top Gun so perfectly! Brilliant stuff. BTW : Slice of Life movie is the best fan made movie ever made! Thank you for doing this. Stay practical!
This is fantastic! The making-of bit is fantastic. Top Fun is just great-well acted, artful filmmaking, and hilarious! Just discovered this channel and I am obsessed. You guys make me want to do what you do.
That was just so AWESOME! Best thing I've seen in ages. Loved it so much. I noticed some models in the display cabinets too ;) And oh boy, seeing you clean shaven again, that's been a while.
Hi guys love your vids - I have a top modelling tip for you, covering plastic “glass” with clear gloss model varnish will make it look like real glass. (More for your miniature projects - cockpit windows, car windscreens etc. makes a huge difference imo) PS the yellow and black things on the back of the headrest are the eject handles/triggers 😂 PPS - Love the Alien/Aliens badges and emblems featured throughout! I love both of those films - my favourite films in-fact. I counted 3 different badges / emblems. Plus the classic computer bleep sounds from Alien 😂
Brilliant guys! Your casualness and fun you have shooting all of this belies the actual skill and knowledge you have obviously amassed over the years, especially from creating Slice of Life! As with all artists who know their craft pretty intimately, you make it look easy! Great to see you creating, working, and all the joy your enthusiasm brings with it.
Glad someone caught how lazy we were! :D We could have covered that part of room with black sheets. We thought about it for a second. Then decided against it. ;)
This is sooo good - even though it's just a fun video made within a couple days - imagine if you gave yourselves a week or two with more resources, it'll be even more amazing! Well done 👍👍 I'm subbing for sure!!
Where did you get the sky simulation backgrounds? And what are they called? This is the most amazing thing I have ever watched. Thank you so much, it made my day!!
crazy, I spend the whole day working on my film and when I get home in the evening I watch a video of two guys making a film... (which was pretty funny by the way)
It's already been said but all the ingenuity is so inspiring. It never fails to impress me how you are able to get such great production value out of what you have!
Love this. Wish you had taken one extra day to dress up the miniatures better with more weathering and detail though so they looked a little less like toys. I know you could've made them look sick with just a little more work. Love the project overall though. More stuff like this please!
This was the best. My favorite shot is the cigar with cake all over the mouth. #socinematic Set unrealistic goals, shoot for the moon and land close. Well done to the whole crew.
An idea: you boys can make TOP GOON 3, with a real Thom Cruuze: make a cardboard image, in real size, glue it to the side of a plastic bucket. Just make holes for eyes and - soo you'll have a Thom Cruuze lookalike! One touch yet: a scientology booklet in his breast pocket- "How to come a scientologist - one easy lesson".
