Coolant in the rear diff. Trans fluids in the brake reservoir, brake fluid in the engine and Mountain Dew for coolant. That would be a fun one also.

Trans fluid would most likely work in the brakes, that stuffs pretty versatile. might not be the best brake feel but it should work for the most part. The rest is up in the air as to how bad or well it would work

Depending on application motor oil and trans fluid will work no problem on brakes. I’ve used gear oil and 30wt many times on older equipment brake and hyd clutch systems because of lack of brake fluid at the time and on clutch systems they were bypassing and not working well. Also motor oil in power steering will work as long as you let it set and warm up at startup to thin the oil

Heaps of 2 strokes run just fine on 50:1 fuel/oil mix. There would have been heaps more oil in the mix than that, just considering what would have remained in the filter and oil passages. My guess is that engine would have run for ages, however the gasoline boiled away fairly quickly, and once below the oil pickup could no longer circulate.

Two strokes run fine on 50:1 mix because they are designed for it. They use needle or ball bearings for conrod and main bearings because they require less lubrication, they also dont have cams to lube, just ports in the block. So even without boiling the gas off it would die quickly.

For science purposes of course, they need to test how many laps a crown vic can go around the track without any oil to see how much the gas actually helped, you know, for science.

I think the gas actually kept the engine lubricated decently! What I think happened is most of the gas turned into vapor from the heat and went out the pcv so eventually it got low enough to starve the engine, it could’ve kept running if the checked the level

You've got to take the motor apart and see how clean it is and how much extra wear there is. I'd like to see you guys try diesel. Should have tossed a transponder in it to see lap times and when it went faster/slower

So my guess is the gas loosened up whatever built up carbon and gunk were inside the motor. That lightly "lubricated" the motor while it ran on Gas. You guys HAVE to open the motor.

So from a mechanics perspective, the raw fuel has a lot of detergents in it so the gas washes out all the oil film from around the rings and effectively lowers compression. This would account for reduced power and poor idle

I'd be interested in seeing the same test with gasoline, but add a bottle of one of the super lubricant additives, like Slick 50, Lucas, Morey's, etc to see if they'll keep a motor alive with pure gasoline.

@@--_DJ_-- environmental regulations are much tighter for commercial entities. Since Cleetus is a business and the racetrack is a business the fines for intentionally mishandling fuel and oil are steep. They start throwing around words like negligence and punitive.

@@retsaoter It was a gallon of gas, you could pour it directly onto the ground and not have to report it, at least where I am from anyways. It wouldn't be the environmental people coming after you for antics with a little gasoline, it would be the workplace health and safety folks. Not a brilliant idea for a video.

anti freeze can burn too, I found out the hard way driving for some rock bands tour bus parking brake was left on and it has a drive shaft parking brake the only liquid sitting around was a jug of 100 % and it will flare up

He's right about it running better before everything goes to shit. Had a 98 Tacoma with the factory blower and when the head gasket was about to totally fail you could feel the power building.

Engine masters did a video about oil levels and lower oil made more power. Just have to find the right mix between power and tearing shit up

Man i need to find an old CVPI for a daily.....things are just minty lol. I had a 94 Grand marquis with the 4.6L and that car was bullet proof engine wise, best winter car ever, so much fun
