On a trip around Israelite Bay, WA. Pat & the crew came across young Willis who had broken down hundreds of kilometers from civilization and with no means to get help. Luckily for him, the crew happened to include Ford's chief engineer Ian Foston & a diesel mechanic.

I like the fact they didn’t pepper him with “why didn’t you do this? Why didn’t you have this ?” Just got stuck in and potentially saved a young fulla perishing

Maybe the fool will learn Rule No. 1 - never leave your vehicle. And rule no 2 - don't drive through a muddy puddle unless you walk it first. But he will still need to rebuild or relace that toasted engine. And he still had to go through that much deeper and longer puddle.

@@einfelder8262 Not sure how much rule number 1 applies when it's the only track in and out, it's super legible and bloody hard to lose the track, he didn't have any water in the car and at the end of that track, there's 1,000 times the amount of traffic as there is on it.

You never leave your vehicle. This young man is incredibly lucky. People head off in to remote places in WA not realizing how serious the risks are. As venture tourism grows this is an issue that will tragically claim more lives. People must try and understand help can be days away. Even in known popular places it can take you all day to get out of there and if your injured it can quickly become dire, especially in the heat. Good on the crew for helping him out, it was his lucky day.

Hi Pat. That recovery cover you talked about. You should have a hard look at if it includes caravan towing. Some will only tow your van 200kms. Some less. And you may only get towed to a secured yard. Not caravan park. Just something to think about😉.

Never seen such contrived bullshit in my entire life! As if people in 4x4’s or 4x4 clubs, Or people deliberately making vids for their youtube stream actually give a rats backside for anything other than their nice little free holiday four wheel driving! You can ponce around pretending you did a good thing all you bloody like - you disguise bushbashing through areas “training” and “rescue” and you’re on a frigging holiday, making a movie, and no doubt being paid! Sod off with the bullshit!
