Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It has been since I was a child . Both of my parents died close to Christmas ,the 21st and the 27th , that pretty much ruined Christmas for me . Thanksgiving is the only holiday that I have good memories of as a child , so I still love it. My only family is my dog Jackson , I cook us a traditional dinner and we chow down. Blessings. 💖💖

@@Gail_Garcia I do like the Thanksgiving food now, but as I kid I didn't. So it was a whole day of sitting around in a dress waiting for a meal I didn't like while there was football on tv. I know, first world problems!

You have my sympathy on the loss of your parents. I lost my mom November 17th, 1966, 9 days before my 6th birthday. My birthday sometimes falls on Thanksgiving, so My favorite holiday is also Thanksgiving 😊

66¢ is first class postage in the USA. My mother use to buy forever stamps and then when there was a postage increase she would add the increase amount to the forever stamps. I know, I know .....my mother missed the entire concept of the forever stamps. After she passed away last year I found 1¢, 2¢, 3¢ and 5¢ stamps in her desk drawer....the make-up stamp amounts. I kept them and added them onto any of denomination stamps she also had to have the correct postage amount on the last bill envelopes I had to mail to close out her affairs. Of course the envelopes looked weird with the # of stamps used BUT none were ever returned by USPS either. Keep all those stamps Amy as you never know when they will come in handy. Just a side wink, wink... I got a particular joy in putting numerous stamps on her final tax returns to her home state and especially the IRS. You know like the tax man taking the last pennies from a little old 94 year old lady. My mother would be so proud! LoL! 😂

Stamp prices have gone up, of course, but even if you bought the Forever stamps back in 2007 for 41 cents apiece, you can still mail a one ounce first class letter using one of those stamps. This year, Forever stamps cost 66 cents each. Other stamps (2 cents, 3 cents) are "make up" stamps, and are valid for the total postage required. Amy, that's exactly the way the Post Office wants us to use the old stamps. "A penny saved..." and all that. 😀

Next year make holloween lawn steaks posters. Take two cards, tack them onto steaks, much like you would when you make petition signs. Then steak them into the ground , and watch the fun.

A few years ago, I lost my husband one week before mothers day. 👩 When my daughters were little we would gather the whole family from both sides mine and his, shove them all in the Vans, and head on over to Detroit for the Thanksgiving parade on Woodward Avenue. I miss that...😊

Gosh you got a lot of items from that Dumpster Frugal Mummy and Daddy, and they'll all go away and come in for next year, and save a lot of money. But I can't comment on thanks giving, cause here in England we don't have it. But if I've ever been watching T, V. Thanks giving has always seemed to be a lovely get together happy occasion, where the family gets together, and shares a beautiful meal, I can't see what there isn't to like. But it's everyone to there own, and what ever makes you Happy, I'm a firm believer in That. But our next Holiday season is Christmas and Mummy I Love Christmas. See you both later. The Halloween cards could be donated to a school, Pre-K, daycare, church, or senior citizens' center, to use for crafting projects next year. The dollar stores have those plastic ornaments, and the characters on the cards, could be cut out, to be glued inside. Add some black and orange ribbon around the top, and hang them on a tree branch, collected from your yard, for a "Halloween tree"!.

Interesting haul. I actually love Thanksgiving and hate Halloween. Thanksgiving has been “my” holiday and it’s easier for our family to get days off together. There’s way less pressure than Christmas and it’s all about the food, togetherness and thankfulness.

You can also use crushed up pork rinds as breading. I mixed mine with equal parts flour and cornmeal and breaded eggplant. It was yummy!

If I wasn’t today old, I would head to my dollar tree to dive. I do cards for soldiers and these would be wonderful to send to deployed troops next year. We send them with the intent that they then send them back to their friends and families. They have no access to greeting cards. They are so grateful.

FM..my son worked at a dollar store in high school. They would chuck out tons of card envelopes. I donated them to nearby elementary school. When i was a TA, the Kids loved to make cards n pictures for their parents and the envelopes were so very much appreciated😊

If every discarded, unused card was distributed it would wreck the industry, 75% of us would just scarf them up at a thrift store and you know that's no lie. We DO when we can find them! Some friends of ours found a box of vintage Christmas cards at an estate sale! SO much cooler than current ones. I would gladly send out Halloween cards! No one is expecting them. Thanksgiving as well. We celebrate a harvest festival. We had squash, pumpins, apples, and a big fish. Jar, pickled eggs? Fill them and show off your stash! Russell Stover makes decent sugar free candy. It tastes better than sadness. A few handle that urge to indulge. Don't knock it, LOL our coven actually did a costume party on Halloween and dressed as cartoon/movie wiches! We decorated with plastic skeletons, etc. We handed out TONS of candy; as many of the coven were also people who worked at the local school, church, and shelter, who all advertised the event. We had a LOT of fun with that. OPEN HOUSE with games, pie, and cider. Hey, let's own it!

Oh FM you are really that soft person deep down too....we know. And haaa with the broccoli bites. i am sure FD does not mind they get all eaten. That is a huge compliment :) You light up and hackle...that is me too. Anyone that LOVES ANIMALS so much like you and FD do, well you are the bestest people all kinks (that you think you have) aside. omg ham right now is insane priced and those packs look amazing. Wow. Ok this has been a hoot for me. I love you both all the time. But honestly that witch does not look like you, although I would say the same about me haa, and FD getting that ball which probably was supposed to light up to work, well kudos. Manufacturing defect. I'm so excited about your card haul cause I love to send cards out and people love getting them. My aunt called me the card Queen. I went to a rummage sale once and they had a pile of cards mother's Day mainly or birthday cards, Hallmark. I paid $40 for the whole pile. This is such a fun video but usually every one of your videos are fun. Love you guys❤❤❤. Love to see what you find when you look in the garbage 😊.

Yes! Any stamps are always worth money. You can put ancient stamps and they are valid because ancient money was used to buy them. The forever stamps are always good to mail an envelope no matter what the current price of a stamp is.

We collect and use pine cones to use as fire starters in our wood stove. Every year I buy the poinsettia silk flowers to decorate my black Christmas tree

Amy, take whatever time to mourn. I’ve lost my husband and now my daughter in the past few years. I’m still not sure how I feel from day to day, especially about my daughter. I donated much of her belongings to a food pantry/ clothing shop for the community. The remainder went to community members through a community buy nothing group. I tried to avoid goodwill as many can’t even afford to shop there. I did bring some things with me to keep as those things meant a lot to her and thus me.

Those little glue tubes are basically a one time use, so use it before it dries up and you can’t use it.

All the stores do is display the cards…a rep from the card company comes in and takes one season out and puts the next season in and it’s up to them to take care of what they remove…so they toss them….I asked a rep once when they were exchanging seasons…
