I actually bought a LTT Screwdriver as a birthday present for my brother. After trying his out, I bought myself one and a couple more as gifts for my tech friends. A few of my gearhead and camping enthusiasts' friends went out and bought their own after trying mine out.

I think we need a LTT x Starforge video.

The idea of a video where Linus and Luke drift with Sammit would be insane. Even though it's off brand for LTT, a once in a blue moon video of an off topic adventure sounds awesome. Like, I think we can say that most people watch for the personality of the crew probably more so than for the info provided. No writers or scripts needed, write off some the trip as a business expense, take whoever would be most fun with or who would appreciate the experience most, and just have an amazing time. The real emotion of it would make for some great videos.

The wife bought me a screwdriver for Christmas, and I've been taking it to work (Manufacturing Automation). My customer picked it up one day and loved it. First time I've ever gotten a comment on a tool. I've got to put an order for 3 of them this week to ship to their team.

StarForge was so right about them testing FPS on CSGO. Still a weird pick to benchmark it in 2023 when it can run on basically everything at this point.

13:00 You need Neon Light Strips in the style of your LTT logo to line the walkways, so you could dim the lights but still have a lit walkway.

You guys should totally hollow out one of your screwdrivers and add some hardware to play doom

That part about using the ratcheting mechanism instead of turning the barrel using the knurling is something I'd switch between depending on the situation. Turning the barrel is fast, real fast, so while the screw turns lightly enough that you can turn the barrel with two fingers that's the fastest way to turn the screw. Once it gets to hard you switch to the handle and use the ratchet as this allows you to exert more force. I work that way even with non ratcheting screwdrivers so it feels natural. By the way here's a tip for anyone building a lot of computers. Get really tall screwdrivers! A barrel of about 12 inches is perfect. That way you have a large grip area on the barrel and can spinn it using two hands which is just that little bit faster than doing it with one hand. Oh and get a Phillips No.1 and No.2, both 10 to 12 inches. Then double up with Pozidriv versions and if you want more then get the corresponding JIS versions. With these six drivers you will have the correct driver for the absolute majority of all crosshead screws you will encounter in computers. If you are going to work on portables or phones you will have to get more drivers for special screw heads and very small versions of Phillips, PZ and JIS. It can be hard to see the difference between Phillips and JIS, but they are not quite the same, and having the right driver can save you from camming out. Usually there is a small dot on the head of the screw if it's JIS. These are surprisingly common once you know what to look for.

If you want to customize the texture look into stippling. People use this to customize plastic textures especially in the competitive gun circuit.

Luke I always use the krnurling to spin the shaft as it's a smaller diameter than the handle. It's faster that way.

Wire EDM, yeah, it's a form of subtractive manufacturing, but really, really fine. Also called "spark erosion" coz that's what it does; literally removes micronic amounts of material at a time by using an electrical charge.

Definitely go to Japan and see Sammit!! He would definitely have you both out there if not just Luke, Linus has tight schedule I'm sure haha . But would be awesome to see as a long to view to both channels.

Starforge recreation was hilarous

He turned the shaft because its faster than turning the whole handle. When there is no force resisting you can just zip it in using the shaft and then tweak it down using the handle.

A pink and green Lambo screwdriver would be wicked.

When I saw their logo on the thumbnail for this video I literally thought it was a phallus. Before this I had never seen it or never heard anyone mention it. So it indeed does look like that.

You can also do a stippeling mod with a soldering iron

I've been using the Snap-On ratcheting screwdriver for over 35 years and my current driver is 30 years old. I'm seriously considcering getting the LTT screwdriver. I have the 3 screwdriver set with the plastic case which is kinda nice but bulky so a nice simple single screwdriver would be nice since I'm not fixing aircraft or vehicles anymore. I'm still a tool junkey.

For the handle texture, why not just have an rubber overmold. Just dip the handle in rubber.

A grip sleeve could also resolve it without changing the product. Like a bicycle grip. Different grips for different applications. For PC building you're not going to face the issue of grip.

I find I use my ltt screwdriver for most of my rc cars aswell. I rarely ever use any other driver when working on my rcs now.

the driver shaft needs to be just a bit longer. thats my one criticism from a copier tech who bought one. I use a screwdriver literally all day everyday. the handle hits a lot trying to reach some deeper screws, some im forced to grab a second driver. that would be the one thing I would change. I love everything else.

Linus and Luke, please go to japan to ride on SAMMIT's cars, I'm sure that would be so much fun =D

With Jake being a car guy, I feel like he is punching air after having heard Sammit invite Linus to go drifting with him. I am a mechanic myself and bought the LTT screwdriver to use at work. Once I got it and felt the finish of the plastic, I decided not to use it at work since I felt it would either degrade when exposed to different automotive fluids, or become hard to use/slippery when exposed to fluids. HOWEVER, I started using it on interior bits and pretty much anything that doesn't involve being exposed to chemicals/fluids and I absolutely LOVE the screwdriver. The backforce, the fell in the hand, the built in bit storage (as well as the fact it accepts bits from other manufacturers), and I am very glad I bought this. I have been wanting a ratcheting screwdriver for years, but couldn't justify the price that Snap-On and other manufacturers were selling them at. Plus I really like orange, so the orange and black is a plus as well!

You can ADD material to a part pretty easily by REMOVING material from the mold... So they could add a knurling texture easy enough but he's right that it's a one-way decision.

honestly, i think the texture could be a bit rougher, but also, i was able to wrench on it hard enough under my car to twist the large flat head, so prob good enough
