I’m so happy to see more black DMB fans!! We’re out there but not as many there should be! They’re awesome and put on just chill and fun shows!! Usually my hubby and I go yearly but we had to miss it this year. Hope to see y’all next year!
Fun fact: Watchtower is actually a Bob Dylan original, and Hendrix’s version is a cover. DMB does my personal favorite version though. But I’m biased because DMB is my favorite band of all time. I’m glad you noticed that Carter (the drummer) is always smiling. He’s so fun and so so talented. He also always throws his sticks out at the end of the shows and after the encore. One year, I had a sign that said “Carter! STICK it to me!” And he laughed and threw me his sticks! One of the best moments of my life. He also will always give his sticks to kids in the crowd if he sees any close enough. The keyboardist is Buddy Strong who recently joined the band after the violinist left due to some pretty disturbing allegations. While the keyboard doesn’t replace the strings, Buddy is so talented and he has such great chemistry with the guys. If you liked Tim Reynolds, he and Dave usually do their own tour most years. It’s not that wild electric feeling like the full band show is- it’s more quiet and subdued but… it’s pretty freaking magical. They both play acoustic and Timmy sounds like he’s playing 3 guitars at once. It’s also a lot more intimate, and in my experience, Dave talks to the crowd more. And lastly, yes. Dave is super freaky. 🤣🤭
I never really cared about Dave until I got dragged to one of their concerts.. been a huge fan and watch them every time since I couldn't believe how well everybody does with the instruments they play those five six minutes solos just are amazing
Many I have met at shows have said that, My sister went to one with me never cared for them and after was a huge fan. I seen them 50 times, going this year for 1st time on years.
There are quite a few bands that I didn't like, but then heard them live and loved them. Still don't like their cd's, but if they are playing live, I'll go see them.
Long time lover of the band. My first experience is alive recording from golden gate park in 94, on cassette. It's in the tape deck of my f150, the 6 disc CD changer is all Dave with another 6 in the visor. When I need to get my groove on, I jump in my retired truck and go for a jam session. I'm glad you found them, as they are my absolute favorite band. I got Luther college while back packing around the world for a year, as I was leaving Australia. Found a boom box on the roof of my hostel in Jerusalem 4 countries and a couple months later. After all the calls to church went out over the loud speakers, I played a concert over the entire Christian quarter. The police tower was across the street, and these dudes in full battle gear were having an absolute blast. I had to wait 4 months after purchase, because I was on a budget, and didn't have funds or room to carry a CD player. Magical time, and I'll rock to Dave for life.
Awesome vlog. I'm sooooo glad that you guys had a good time watching the show. Although it was hot, sweaty and my singing wasn't on point, the experience of the show was amazing and you two were so fun, funny and just good hearted people. I'm looking forward to the next Asia and BJ experience. 😀✌️♥️
I love the openness to experiencing new things. This band has been a staple in my life for last 20 years and I couldn't imagine my life without them or the friends I've made along the way. Many people travel for them. If you ever feel compelled to do so I recommend Noblesville, Indiana or the Gorge in Washington. Hope to see yall out there.
I'm so pleased you enjoyed your experience, but i knew you would. 🙂I've seen them several times and they're never anything short of awesome. They have such a passion for performing, and the crowd loyalty sends out such positive loving energy.
❤❤ I'm so glad y'all enjoyed it. DMB is a favorite of mine for a very long time now and it's awesome seeing people new to their sound appreciate their talent!! Love you guys, love the channel. 💛
My favorite band. Ive seen Dave Matthew's Band 85 times. Never seen a bad show, and never seen any two of the same show. They keep it fresh. They're amazing, best live band ever IMO.
We saw you there! You were three rows in front and when you turn the camera around you could see us. Glad you liked the concert, Dave put on a great show that night.
glad you all liked the show. these are incredible musicians. the mainstream, that just hears their records, need to see them live. they are a LIVE band for sure.
Also, in my opinion, the radio singles are never their best songs so if mainstream listeners aren’t into their singles, they don’t give their full albums a shot. On the other hand, DMB is one of the most successful touring bands of all time, and I’m not sure their style would fit if they mainly had a mainstream audience. They originally got popular because they played college campuses in the early 90s, and people would tape their shows and pass them around to their friends at other schools. Sometimes, by the time the band got to a campus a few states away, people already knew their music and they hadn’t put a record out yet. They are a live band, through and through. Like the Grateful Dead. And while Dave was never a fan of the Dead, and didn’t take much inspiration from them, the fact that both bands shine(d) predominantly as live bands, with not so much mainstream success, is very similar. Speaking of which- you should definitely try to catch a Dead & Co. show if you can. They probably won’t tour for many more years as most of their members are in their late 70s/early 80s, but they still JAM. ☺️
Wife here.." Masterpiece" Ms. Asia..You look so Beautiful and Cool.!!.Awesome.. Loved the intro.!!.This looks so fun the band sounds great!! You both look like you're having a great time..Looove it!!
I just loved watching you really enjoy the concert. Connecting to the lyrics. The Dave Matthews Band does have such a loyal fan base and we are family. Thanks for sharing this experience with everyone. The DMB community is sharing it and talking about it.
Something about this react is very uplifting to me. Music is such a bridge to bringing people together. I’m glad you both had such a good time. Tim Reynolds is amazing. They are a great tight band. Good energies to both of you.
Love to see your comments and reactions to a concert that I have experienced for 26 years! Taking my 20 year old son to his first DMB concert next month. Can't wait.
Sean at 8:20 was feeling it for real! Awesome! Glad you guys had a great time, the vibe of outdoor concerts is a different experience, especially around the sunset. So what concert is next for you guys?! Checking ticketmaster I see Santana is playing Jul 15 in Dallas 🔥
This is amazing. Been a dmb fan since I was 10 years old. Saw my first show when I was 20 and it solidified my admiration for the band. They are all true masters of their crafts. If you have even the slightest appreciation of any type of music, once you see them live, you get it. They never have any set props, or pyrotechnics, or theatrical elements. It’s a stellar band with a stellar stage and light crew with amazing original music along with some great covers here and there. I’ve seen many people who didn’t like the band until they saw them live. I hope y’all go to another show, and hopefully you get treated to a special guest sometime. Warren Haynes is one of my fav’s. Be kind and be blessed.
Asia you looking lovely ...BJ glad yall had fun brother. Nothing like the power of a great concert. Sean G in the house......yall gotta go to some more, there are some fantastic concerts coming yall. Outdoor concerts are the BEST....Seen GnR with Aerosmith at an out venue called Starwood outside Nashville TN....unfortunately been closed down for a long time but fantastic memories there from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Phil Collins
I'm glad you had fun there, Dave Matthew's has been one of my favorite bands for the past 25yrs and in my opinion they are most talented band musicians on the planet.
Just found your channel from your reaction of GenZ not n owing the basics. Dave Matthew’s Band is one of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to. Brings back a ton of great memories. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see more. It’s our generation that needs to be out here waking people up. ♥️
Love that intro! Thanks for taking me on the journey with you. Dave's funky lil strut and Carter's smile are the best. I still have lecture notes from college where I doodled "Sing and dance, la la la hey la la la hey"... such an earworm. Y'all got a great show. So happy for you. Loved seeing Sean G belt out Watchtower.
Wow, ya'lls show had a fantastic set list! Watchtower is not something they play super often! And don't drink the water is an amazing tune! So glad you had fun and enjoyed the Vibes. There's really nothing like a Dave show tbh. And this just made me so excited for when I go in a couple weeks up here in the CLE 😁
Watchtower is my absolute favorite cover they do. I am so happy you had a great time!!! I’ve seen them dozens of times since the 90s and it’s always the best time!!
Hey y’all, great video, we saw DMB in Atlanta at the Lakewood amphitheater, on May 22nd. We’ve seen the DMB like 10 times, next time y’all gotta sit in the lawn, that’s where all the fun is, open seating and tons of fun. Come on out, we party…
I miss what Boyd brought to the band. Having that fiddle added so much to the sound but I understand why he can’t be there anymore. I just miss it so much. I’m going on June 10 @Blossom Music Center. Cannot wait! Hope I have as good a time as y’all did.
Stubbled across your vlog. Very cool! Good job! I’m a big DMB fan. Just saw them in Charlotte and it was probably my 15+ show. True musicians, great meanings/lyrics, thought provoking, full of energy and life. Impossible to give you a favorite song recommendation but definitely check out: Bartender, #41, Say Goodbye( intro drum solo will blow you away) Seek Up, and Two Step!! Left out Don’t Drink The Water because you mentioned it in your video.
Man ive been waiting for this video and i wasnt subbed to this channel so i missed! (Subbed now) But anyway, i love dmb (20yrs +) im so proud of yall for making it out there especially in this heat! My fav guy is carter b, like you said hes always smiling or popping bubbles lol and just the most talented drummer! ✌❤
I used to give my buddy crap about being a DMB fan, then we went to woodstock 99, been a fan ever since. Crazy how much a good live performance can change your perspective
DMB is the best! I'm 37 and have loved them since about age 9. I'm about 13 concerts in...next one is in Detroit in June. I've traveled to Washington and Virgina to seem them. This just maid me even more excited for the upcoming show..taking someone who has never went before!
I have kind of a similar story. I'm 40 years old now and I've loved them since I was 12. I've been to about 25 shows. I live in Washington state so all but 2 of the shows I've been to have been at The Gorge Amphitheater (Heaven's amphitheater they call it). Truly a magical place to watch them play. I couldn't imagine my life without their music. 🤘😊👍
Very nice guys. Happy you had such a great time. There is a recording of Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds Live from Radio City Music Hall. It is literally the best live performance I have ever seen.
Cortez the killer, the stone, a Christmas song and the song that Jane likes. Crash was pop/radio crossover, but an absolute jam for getting funky with your person.
I’ve been to many concerts at that same location, including Dave Matthews Band around 2001! I also saw the following at that venue: Dwight Yoakam Willie Nelson Clint Black Sara Evans Poison Quiet Riot Warrant Dwight Yoakam (again) Back then, it was called the Coca-Cola Starplex Amphitheater, or something like that. Did they do away with grass seating? It looks like it’s all concrete with dedicated seats now, with more of a roof than was there before. I’m glad y’all got to see DMB and hear Watchtower. They are so good live.
I have a soft spot for American artists who live and breathe peace and love and equality and justice and joy. Dave Matthews is one. Bruce Springsteen. Eddie Vedder, Tracy Chapman, and etc. There are many. Hope you had a blast. ❤️
Concerts are so much more than music on a cd. You can feel the bass going through your body. You can feel the energy from the band and the crowd. When the band interacts with the crowd, it just pumps you up. I would love to see ya go to a metal band like korn or Slipknot, it's a whole other level of energy! If you get the same seats as you did for Dave, you won't get into anything crazy like up front. No mosh pits in those seats lol. Had to edit to add this, most important of all, I'm really glad ya had a good time!
Thank you for this video. I have been to about 40ish DMB shows but I haven’t seen the band in the last 10 or so years, I probably burnt myself out. It was nice to hear a newbies fresh take on the experience. You may have motivated me to go back.
Glad you had a good good time. I’ve had a hundred good good times with these guys and suggest you experience the back to back Friday Saturday shows. That’s when the musical magic happens.
Matthews puts interesting change-ups in his music, and that band is made up of musician's musicians. Everyone up there is super-skilled on their instruments. I'm so glad you got to see a band with people that are that talented. I remember Dave was the first concert I'd ever been to that had a sign on the entry that read: you are welcome to record tonight's concert on audio or video. He released so many live albums he made sure those personal recordings could never really do any damage to his career, yet it was really nice for people to have those as mementos.
I have been a die hard Dave fan for about 25+ years. Some of the greatest memories I have are going to Dave concerts!! I was 8 months pregnant with my 2nd child and drove nearly 3 hours to go see him. I was prepared to give birth mid concert if I had to 😂 Their vibe is incredible and always makes me feel joy and peace. I am so happy you both enjoyed it so much! Love your content. ✌🏼 ❤️
I’ve seen them about 6 times live. Carter has been a huge influence for me for years as a drummer. You should check out “listener supported.” Probably one of Dave’s best live albums. Happy for you guys that you got to check ‘em out!
Love Carter Beauford! Always with a huge smile on his face and blowing bubbles with his gum. 🤣 I've seen them live about 15 times, but my favorite show was when Carter gave me a set of drumsticks for my son, who happens to share his first name. 💗
