No lie, I kinda kept watching just for the door part 😭😆 I'm currently screening in a porch with iron post & rails already in place. I gotta figure a way to make a screen door out of a 6ft opening. What you & your wife created really looks! Kudos to the both of you for doing the damn thang
Sorry about the door part of the video, the camera died while putting the door up, when installing the door you have to buy a door framing kit plus the door from home Depot or Lowe's.

I am finally getting around to installing our patio room. I noticed you are building a home. Congratulations. I wish you guys well. I look forward to checking in on your progress. We moved into Edgewater Florida 1.5 years ago from California. I wish will would have done what you did. These newer track houses and HOA's suck. LOL
After we first moved to our house 35 years ago, we installed lattice inside with a top and bottom rail around our screened-in porch, so that our children as they were learning to walk, wouldn't accidentally push through it. 😂
I like seeing average Joe's coming together and doing DIY and it coming out nice. I have to pour a 10'x30' cement pad then put screen frame on, but I will have to do a hard surface roof, since I don't have on like you. Good job. Enjoy
Your door looks great. Right now over in mid Central Florida there's a shortage of doors and door enclosures. Lol it really is terrible. It's funny I remember when I was younger and around 1987 I purchased a purchase a screen door for 15 bucks. Now that same screen door at home Depot cost about $125 not including the enclosure. I think the enclosures another 80 or so at least. I might just go with a screen netting with magnets on the bottom for 15 bucks. Lol.

I used to install stockade fences years ago and building the gates was the hardest part. You guys did a fantastic job on that door it's a lot harder then people think! Looks freaking awesome!
I am thinking about screening in my porch the same way you did it. What are those metal channels that you mount to the floor, ceiling, and porch posts? And the brackets that hold the lower, horizontal channel for the kick panel? Are those channels specifically for mounting screens? Can you include a link to the product pages at Home Depot for the parts you used?

What a wonderful job! It looks amazing! A question: If you had to do it all over again, would you still use the home depot products used to make it? Is it good quality that you feel will hold up? Also, was there a certain type of screen you had to use with the braces that the screen gets pushed into? I have cats and would prefer the heavy duty pet resistant screen they carry, but wonder if that would fit the brace pieces you put them into.
Thanks for the comment, to answer your question the the product seems to be holding up pretty good, so yeah I'll use it again, as for the screen it doesn't matter which one you use, it depends on the railing if it ask for flat spline or round spline for this project the rails are made for flat spline.( just in case spline is what keep the screen in place) hopefully this answer your question.

Depending on your layout, with our layout it ran us about $850 for all the material, the tools we already had, also what help us out was we took a layout and measurement of the back patio to home depot and they were very helpful, telling us what all we will need. Hope this helps

What helped us out the most we found a helpful home Depot personal he pretty much held our hands through it all we gave him our measurements, we did the math he told us everything we needed down to all the screws and which saw blade is best for cutting aluminum, the kick plate and the door frame. I saw your other comment about the table saw I'm not sure I use the miter saw. I hope this was helpful.
