Our last moments aboard Seawind. The boat we built and that's been a part of our lives for a decade. We are sad to see her go, but happy to have found the people we did to take over caring for this beautiful vessel.
Who are they?? You won't believe where they traveled from to buy their first blue water sailboat! Warning..The raw emotions in this video might make you tear up! I know we have been while editing the video... Oh and that April 21 2023 waterspout that made the news at Hollywood beach in Florida? We were there...literally! Come along for the last video you will ever see Seawind in under our ownership 🙃
Enjoy! #digitalnomad #boatlife #lifestyle #epidemicsound #sonyalpha #travelvlog

Parker, Knowing you for a better part of your life....seeing this was an emotional rollercoaster even for me. I've seen, at least through this channel, the amount of blood, sweat, and tears you and Katy have put into this boat. You both are phenomenal people (we'll need to get everyone together at some point when you're all home so Kim and I can meet her!) and I'm just happy that others around the world get to see how awesome you both really are! This journey for you both has only begun that's for sure and although the end of this chapter is a bittersweet one, the next chapter is going to be even better! I definitely look forward to seeing the progress of the journey for both of you with Boundless but even beyond that, I don't doubt at all that the new owners of Seawind will carry the torch of all the hard work that was invested into her. Beyond happy to see where life is taking you guys and can't wait to see the adventures that come next!

Wow, that was a touching video. Congratulations on the sale of Seawind - congratulations on the purchase of boundless. Tbh I also would have struggled to let Seawind go. Okay, I'm going to leave a comment, too. I've watched almost all of your videos on . I'm sure that producing them has been much more work than I would have been willing to do. You've done yeoman's work in that endeavor. I'm a transplanted Yankee myself in my seventieth year of life, so you'll have to forgive me when I say that the emotional tone of this last installment of S.S. was a little too much for my tastes. Having said that, I know just how you both feel - especially you, Parker, when you hand over your boat to a new owner. That vessel that you see in the thumbnail circle by my name is , twice winner of the Sydney-to-Hobart all the way back in 1953 and 1954. She spent sixty years here in Hawai'i and I was the proud owner of that well-known wooden racer for her last decade stateside. When I bought her in Honolulu in 2007, she was a chalky white mess with a suspicious leak in the rudder post and a BMW engine that wouldn't run. I poured thousands of my dollars and years of my life into her. I stripped the decks and reglassed them. I painted the decks and the hull. I treated all of the interior planking with expensive Smith's penetrating epoxy. My two regrets are that I didn't sail her as often as I should have - she sailed so well! - and that the new Aussie owner undid many of my modifications after he shipped her home. He returned her to her original Halvorsen design brief, as one might expect for a boat like that. Recently she was the oldest boat to enter the Hobart. After all of the energies that I had spent on , I was sad to see her go, but I am glad that I was the owner who facilitated her return to her home port of Sydney after such a long life away from the Land of Oz. You two have done an absolutely incredible - I would say professional - job of refitting . You're fortunate that with our day's advanced videographic possibilities you have been able to document some of the process of the refit. And, you have shared with us lots of footage of under sail for a landlubber's vicarious participation. Although not enough. You're young and I understand, but a little less drama and a little more raw cruising footage would be just fine with me. I encourage you to just let the camera roll as you take over the horizon. Compared to my meager efforts on the quantity and quality of your work on is lightyears ahead. The new owners from Alaska had better be up to the task of maintaining the boat in the Bristol condition in which you have handed her over to them. You have sold for almost three times what you bought her for, but I am certain that you have lost money in the process because I see the high quality of the materials that you have used for the refit. And, of course, that doesn't even include the sweat equity that you put into her! is worth every penny of the purchase price. The new owners are lucky people. A long comment has turned into a tome. Please excuse me, but I have one last thing to say. Speaking as a father of three and a grandfather of seven who has been married for 45 years, I will say this: You and Katie are a charming couple who are obviously madly in love with each other. You should get married soon and have children on . That Katie of yours is one of the cutest, most vivacious women I have ever gotten to know - in her case, vicariously through this medium, of course. She's easy on the eyes and has a unique way of expressing herself with delightfully playful gestures. Don't let her get away from you! Many women don't like to sail or are afraid of the ocean. You are fortunate that Katie is so eager and ready to sail the world with you, Parker. Now, I'm looking forward to seeing lots of sailing footage from your future adventures on the exquisite vessel, .

Thank you so much for sharing all of that! What an incredible story of your vessel! And thank you for your kind words about Seawind and Katy and me. It is a bittersweet time but we are excited at what the future holds, on all fronts! We are excited to continue making these videos and are glad that you enjoy them 😃

I TOTALLY know how you feel. Selling a boat you’ve poured your soul into is tough. Signing the title over is the ultimate experience of ambivalence; yes, certainly feels like the proverbial “second best day”, but also like your child has left for college and will never come back. It doesn’t get any easier even if you sell over list price.

Good video, Parker. Well-done. Making these quality videos is a lot more work than most viewers realize. You probably already know this, but you should marry this woman if she will have you. It changes everything for the better. Steve Schroeder

Hey Parker, my name is John. I’m sure you get asked a lot of questions so I hope this is not too much of a bother. But I just purchased an allied Seawind mk II sloop. And I want to equip it with an auto pilot. There is the wheel steering option by ramarine, and there is also the one you had on your old boat that went below deck. Do you know if the wheel pilot is compatible with the allied seawind? Was that why you went with the other option?

.... change is black and white if you are talking about the interiors of the cars you used in this vid ..... A lot of people are afraid of change even if that means not getting where they want to be. It was pointed out to me, that afraid of change is about their willingness to give up what the known and are comfortable with. .... laughing .. the dilemma of choosing the right tea .. I find this particularly challenging in restaurants, the choices on the menu are boundless and you make a selection, done, oh no not a chance! The server has a litany of questions, yes to customize your order to enhance your dining experience, and they seem to always have one more question ... story time .. there was a restaurant that I would frequent in a different town when there for work and on this particular occasion I walked through the door and this young server I would guess not even twenty stood there hand on hip and other arm kinked at the elbow so hand holding menu was shoulder height. With a movement of her head her hair flicks from one side to the other all the while shifting weight from one leg to the other. So! Are you having the porkchops or do need to have a look at the menu. Puzzled I asked why do you say this? You always have pork chops she says matter of factly. I deny it and she retorts with why do you think that when we see you coming, we say here comes porkchops. I was a bit put back that I was so predictable. To prove that I was not, I opted for the menu and after scrutinizing the menu it came time to order I ordered porkchops as nothing else on the menu caught my eye. All the waitress said, was, surprise surprise. After this I took note that restaurants I frequented each had one had a selection I had every time I stopped in there, and consequently no need for a menu... this opened my eyes as to how ritual we can become in many avenues in our lives and consequently can miss out on many life experiences even though we look at ourselves as being open to change. ..... definitely exciting times ahead for you two .... so, did everything fit in the car for the trip north .... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans ...
