As a cosplayer who has made 9 different genshin costumes i can attest to the rolling on the floor crying alot. And the 500hrs of work. Great work on this
@KamuiCosplay i do not even know how i did it. But i have done : kaeya, rosaria, sucrose, ayaka, sayu, xingling, a male version of yanfei, and noelle kfc version and original version parts. as well as helped with baizhu for a friend. I am pretty sure i cried alot. And whats really crazy is i hand did all the 3d parts from foam as i dont have my 3d printer set up.
Sorry, but I want to ask a question about crafting... You know, I want to make a TF2 Medic's cosplay. And I have everything except backpack. How to make his backpack? I mean standart one, not a Quick-Fix or the Vaccinator ones. Thank you!
I absolutely love Genshin character Designs and so rarely see people actually making a Genshin cosplay themself. You absolutely nailed it! Truely amazing as always and it was really helpful and insipring to make my own Genshin cosplay in the future! ❤
U and other Cosplayers I've seen just makes me have ideas to Cosplay my own original characters, like example,I made my version of my demon,Greek goddess and other female characters. I hope someday in the future (and when I have money and time) I'll be able to make that plan come true.
The whole entire time I’m just amazed and keep just saying wow and so beautiful 😂😂 ur interdisciplinary work is amazing!!! And it’s so cool what u can create!!
Amazing work! And as I said previously, 3D printing is not a craft, since technically the printing work is all done by a mashine, but designing and afterwards refining everything is a craft, and it's definitelly not a cheat. You probably have about the same amount of work, it's just different.
1:08 Join da club, lady! 2:37 I was more concerned on how to make the jacket float. 20:15 Stretch fake leather? That's a thing? 24:28 I was wondering. If Benny was able to sand the surface with finer grits of sand paper like 2000 grit or higher, will it bring back the gloss surface? Yeah, that costume was crazy to make!
this inspires me so much to start making my own cosplays, but I don't have the time and money to do it! 😭 How fun. it's so fascinating watching how much effort is put into a single outfit. this is amazing.
The way you made the vision (With the glitter) and the bracelet (See through) are (In my opinion) not the best, but all together beautiful! Worth the time took.
I don't actually know if she's lying about this being her favorite character because of the sponsor but I absolutely love the commitment to detail I love Genshin's designs and this was very faithful in many aspects, though it does make me realize how handy a laser cutter or a 3d printer can be (I'm blown away by how many uses technology has, even if the average person can't relate to having these machines they're still a nice luxury) the the team behind KamuiCosplay is very talented
An absolutely stunning amount of work. Your standards are so incredibly high! Have you considered creating cosplay for a male character? I've been thinking about a Zhongli costume and would love to see how you'd do it. If not male, then I think I'd like to see a Kokomi costume. All of the Genshin characters are pretty amazing, though.
@@KamuiCosplayIn the final reveal, you had a mission and a hard deadline, i e. this wasn't for giggles... No wonder you had a few meltdowns! But videoing the process as well, you are a true artist team, just like movie creatives. No wonder you have 1m followers. The only way this could be more amazing is filming in stop-motion.... some RU-vidrs do that, they must be... crazy!
I don't understand people who say 3D printing in cheating. If you could have a tool that would make your life easier wouldn't you? And I've seen how 3D printers work, it's not as easy as a regular printer. You really have to think about the material, time, weight, etc. before printing because if you do it wrong it could collapse. And the fact that you guys make your own patterns is really impressive. Good job on this cosplay! Your hard work paid off, it look incredible.
This is probably the coolest and most insightful video I’ve seen this year. Your passion/dedication/talent is admirable and I hope and pray that one day I’ll be able to create an artwork as wonderful as what you’ve accomplished here. All I can say is “well done”, this is stunning.
I am impressed as how much you cherish your husband and wear your wedding ring. I loved Yelan cosplay but I love more how the unspoken things talk. You guys craft a work of art and Its seen that both are contributing to the same goal. Yelan cosplay was insane.
Aww, thank you so much! We are now together for 20 years and got into cosplay the year we met! I‘m so thankful to have Benni’s amazing support for all those years! ❤️
5:30 I can't speak for everyone, but I'd definitely watch that lol I think a good idea for big cosplay projects like this one is to divide the video into parts. That way we get a more detailed look at the process, without scaring away viewers with a single super long video. That's what Sarah Spaceman did for her Strawberry Miku cosplay build -- the total runtime is 2 hours long but it's divided into four 30-minute videos. And honestly with how much work you put into this cosplay you deserve the increased watch time and ad revenue from a multi-video series :)
I would have not thought how difficult this cosplay would turn out to be if I hadn't seen this video. This project was absolute insanity and you pulled it off with grace. I am now regretting a bit that I did not go to the Gamescom this year. I would have loved to see that amazing costume with my own two eyes! Well done. Love your craft for so many years!
I absolutely love your cosplay you made of Yelan. You are such a talented and resourceful cosplayer. Amazes me every time. You got a paw of approval from me 😸
Simply breathtaking work and dedication, 20 years of experience is definitely showing and even through the pain, sweat, and tears you make it look easy. Thank you for sharing your process, challenges, breakdowns and all!
You guys always make such amazing things. Thank you so much for what you do and share. And, as an aside, I really enjoyed your little dance with the back flappy thing. Made me chuckle.
How you solved the challenges of making cosplay is part of the joy of watching your videos. Ignore the naysayers or backseat drivers! Woot .. all done.
Krystl looking like a cyborg with her arm, was an interesting thing to see. Guessing it's an arm brace? Hope she'll recover soon if that's the case. Seriously looooove how this looked in the end! The struggles, oh wow the struggles. I hope you know you did a seriously beautiful job! Benny also did an amazing job with the 3D prints! Would love to see more of his work, maybe in separate videos too. Much love, and hope adjusting to the new country is going smoothly! ❤️
Im so jealous of your creativity and determination i would give up at the start 😅i really wish to see your raiden cosplay it will be such as beautiful as your every cosplay i know it!
Your Yelan cosplay is really really AMAZING (p≧w≦q) but I wish I could see you do lunafreya's cosplay from the movie of FFXV that is Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, her outfit when she met the king is really gorgeous and I really want to see you make it cuz I feel the way of you making cosplays are understandable and it's easy for me to follow your instruction. So I hope one day I see you make her outfit and wish you a happy life. (✿◡‿◡)
You guys are very talented and thank you very much for sharing step by step how to bring Yelan to life. And the result was amazing! Congratulations 🎉 I hope you can cosplay my favorite character "Raiden Shogun" in the future ❤
Great video as always. I would recommend you to buy a "transgender breastplate" if you ever need to increase your chest size for future cosplay costumes. Keep up the great work!
Monte Gardens were one of my favourite places in the Island growing up! I love that there’s a Yelan doing a photoshoot there now 🥺🥰 the cosplay is absolutely stunning!
@@KamuiCosplayHehe i know. I was just replying to a comment you had about how you had to cut back from all the content you had recorded for this project. If you released a 1-hour video I think everyone would sit down and watch it from beginning to end too!
Ah, I see now! Well, according to our RU-vid analytics shorter videos perform much better and the average view time is actually only 30% of the full length of the video. So, putting more work into longer videos would probably result in even less watching time! 😬
So according to her own valued hourly fees that costume could be sold for over $40k. On her video about the TRUTH about commission works she states that she considers herself a professional and hence she can charge 50$/h for her work. That is just $25k from labour according to her math on this project. If we add materials and her "brand" on top of it, $40k should be reasonable? OFC NO. I wonder what kind of costume I could get from a chinese sweatshop if I give them the materials and just $5k. I bet I get the same costume with some minor details that could be fixed if I add $1~2k on top of my $5k. I love her work, but she shouldnt be sewing or doing labour. Hire someone and teach them! Your 500h work would be sooooooo much faster and cheaper. Be there to correct mistakes or supervise. You could be working on multiple projects if you hire people to do tedious but easy tasks.
There is one mistake in your calculations: I don’t do commissions and don’t create stuff for others in general. I made this costume for myself, even though the time spent is surely an interesting number. So, no extra fee for my brand or anything. Plenty of artists work under minimum wage though, while professionals in the movie and costume design industry charge far more. Someone mentioned they charge 200 $/h! And that’s why I uploaded the video you mentioned. Here I was hired to create social media content just like this RU-vid video, so your comment is a little bit weird. Hoyoverse asked me to show you how to make a Genshin costume and hopefully it will help and inspire others with their own projects.
I understand why you dread sewing. I'm the same. I'm decent enough at it once I get going, but always dread it. You are doing an amazing job though. The seams look even and straight and your sewing skill is far beyond mine, but I do have one tip I can share. When I got married, I sewed me and my husbands clothes and I had help from a seamstress who taught me a lot of neat tricks. One, to avoid a lot of pins, is to hand sew the pieces together with a simple stitch. No back stitching at all, just a straight stitch to hold it together and once it's been sewn on the machine, you can pull out the thread. It keeps the fabric more stabile and you don't risk ruining the fabric with pins.
Thanks so much! I‘m okay with sewing, but it’s indeed mentally very exhausting! 😬 And thanks a lot for the tip, but I‘ll keep on working with pins since I literally don’t have time for this extra step, ha ha!
@@KamuiCosplay It does take more time, yes. I won't deny that. Although if you work with slippy fabric like silk, this trick is a must. Pins just won't do it.
Such an intense projet ! The end result is so stunning ! Awesome job through the mental crisis haha I think you leveled up your sewing game with this one !
Thank you for making such videos!! It inspired me to start cosplaying and I had a lot of fun! Hope to get to sew a cosplay from scratch like you in the future!!
Oh no, we forgot to include it! It’s shown in the Yelan story highlights on IG though! The jacket is attached with hooks on the back at the neck area of the dress and has invisible straps as well!
