I've noticed the coin world is a bit like the boom stick world. Being a younger guy, some dealers tend to look at me a little sideways for whatever reason, or they talk to me like I have no idea what I'm doing. I just stick to the dealers that have treated me right & have even became friends with a couple.

The problem is when we walk into a coin shop and get treated like garbage. My local coin shop the guy is amazing and wants everyone to come in but I’ve been places and felt like I wasn’t wanted there. I think it’s because sometimes I’ll wear my work clothes, my wife and I own a commercial cleaning and janitorial company and we still work jobs daily and some are very dirty or greasy jobs. And when I walk in I’ll be sweaty and clothing not the greatest because we were just working and we’ll be treated very poorly.

@@michaelheilmansingersongwr8987 I have a lot of nice clothes but we work 7 days a week including birthdays holidays and funerals so once in a great while I’ll dress good at more clean jobs or take clothes with me for special occasion. We’re at the point where we can’t find enough to people to cover everything because no one wants to do manual labor work or only minimum hours so we still work a lot daily.

Sounds like you care about your business like Drew and his brother. Good for you. Unfortunately I totally understand about walking in and not getting respect. It happened to me but your lcs is important for you as a collector. Like Drew mentioned there is no I in team. If you really want to establish a relationship with your lcs then consistently buy from them. Establish a rapport. They will take note and be more respectful. They may not always have what you are looking for but it’s a good resource to have on your side. These guys, Acousha collectables are also a huge asset to have on your side. Beautiful beautiful coins but beyond that they have a high sense of morals and value relationships. Hardly seen anymore in our society.

I just received my 1881 S Morgan from you guys & I was so surprised the coin came in looking PL, it may be because it’s my first San Francisco mint Morgan but this coin is so glossy looking the feeling I got was overwhelmed. One advantage you fellas have is you are young and have the energy and adventurous spirit the typical old dealers no longer have. That’s an angle many other dealers can’t take advantage of. If we can’t come to you with our collection, you’ll come to us. You will have an opportunity to purchase collections no other dealer who is tied to a brick-and-mortar shop will ever see. You are a new type of “gypsy” dealer - constantly moving.
