We start working on the catamaran with the help of Alex. We have never used epoxy so he gives us a crash course and the push we need to make progress on it. The bows get reinforced so we can walk around up there and we patch some holes with fiberglass and try to seal some leaks.

It's amazing reading the comments after these videos. I never realized so many people were born already knowing everything.

That's what I call a good friend. I had a trailer sailer for 3 years and one of the nicest parts was winter in the DIY boatyard (oh, do you have DIY in the States; hopefully it's not rude:) Like Home Depot) all helping each other fix our boats up for summer; lending tools etc. You guys are charming; keep 'em coming!

Awesome guys adding strength and pligging holes is a awesome start and great help from a good friend and fellow boat owner. Be careful if you take out the compression post that you can still keep at least some way to transfer the loads from mast to hull and not just light cabin roof. Cant wait for more videos and to see you in Florida!

It has taken me 8 years, have about 3 more years to remodel my house doing 90% of work myself, I don’t have credit so i did it when I had extra money, I would buy materials/ parts then when I had extra time I would redo/add/or install the new. I think doing it the way I am has taught me patience perseverance practice and wanting to learn new trades/skills. It also has saved me from going into debt and saved me from rushing projects.... SO I SAY THIS ,GIVE YOURSELF TIME ,DONT RUSH ,AND ENJOY YOUR BOAT PROJECTS,...you really will enjoy seeing it come together and the boat getting better and better. THE WAY YOU WANT IT and know it was done to the spec and quality YOU WANTED( good craftsmanship from your point of view)plus you get to REALLY KNOW THR IN’S AND OUT’S OF YOUR BOAT how it works and what is needed to make it your boat. So don’t rush and enjoy your projects. It’s really self gratifying when you do the work, plus you learn how to do it.

I like your drive. Like a lot of the construction comments. I’ve been building boats for over 50 years so have some thoughts.

Guys please don’t listen to all the naysayers! You are doing great! Many many boats built with plywood. Just make sure to seal all screw holes and openings with epoxy. Check out the West System Fibreglass boat repair manual on line. Good luck and keep at it!
