Because he kept the x pipe

He’s not losing any power because he kept the H pipe. But headers would be a first choice, then muffler delete

And it would have been loud as well.

That all he really had to do was buy headers and didn’t have to touch anything else

Definitely needs an x pipe, and long tubes. He should just get Corsa extreme instead of the sport ones.

I rode in one with heads and a cam among other mods. Had 650 flywheel hp.

Calling this straight piped is inaccurate considering it still had cats and stock manifolds. Headers alone would truly wake it up.

Yes, I agree. I see a lot of C6s in bad condition or either been modified to the point sometimes where they couldn't drive properly anymore. When I go to the car shows a lot in the Midwest I see many of them modified or either a half assed project car.

I would do few mods here and there such as drilled and slotted rotors, better brake pads such as Brembo or WilWood, K&N Air Filter, (not the cold air intake) exhaust system, ceramic dark tinted windows, ceramic dark windshield stripe, better brake fluid such as Brembo or Wilwood, better suspension system

@@CB12345 Imagine if they made a Vortec Truck motor version of this 7.0. This and the 8.1 Vortec would be beast gassers. They’re slower in the trucks I know, but the power to pull trailers with. I’d go with a 7.0 gasser over the Duramax anyday if they made a 7.0 Vortec Truck motor.

How do we know the Heads haven't been addressed? I imagine anyone with the potentially troubled C6 7.0 has rectified the problem rather than risk catastrophic failure.

Why do people need starter sports cars

@@user-zd8vg1nl5g For those who want something different and better performance. I would not make this a first car, but a second one for real driving experience. Usually Corvettes, Miatas, S2000s, Solstices, and maybe an BRZ/FRS would make good starter sporty vehicles as a few examples.

I have the same on my car. It's pretty mellow at idle, but sounds a lot louder off idle!

It's because it's not truly straight piped. He didn't mention headers and still had the cats on. To me, a true straight piped Vette has long tube headers and then the pipe ALL the way through the tips. It would have been way, way louder than this.

That's what happens when a certain demographic gets a loan for a car like this...

But to your actual question yes, there will be a nice difference. It won't be loud though.

Federally illegal for the exhaust shop to remove the cats. Owner could install a set of headers if he is capable but no shop will do it for you. Some performance shops will if you purchase a high flow cat setup but if you do any deletes you won't find a shop that will agree to it.

That's how Corsa built those tips. I don't like that look either.

I have the same, it sounds great.

The owner wanted it louder. It was still super quiet with the Corsa. I'd have probably removed that system and resold it, but they cut if off and will probably send the mufflers to the recycle center.

@@Long-nd8bq Yeah get I get the owner wanted it "louder." Just do it right and put an off-road or high flow x-pipe on it and it'll be plenty loud. This is the ghetto way of doing things and it's blasphemy to do it to such a nice car and a nice exhaust. The quality of work this shop does is laughable and it'll be a rusty mess in no time... I wouldn't let these hacks anywhere near my car. Yeah, send a $2,500 exhaust to the recycle center. Sounds smart...

​@@sidefx996yep ... agreed.. I couldn't justify chopping off an aftermarket muffler like Corsa or Borla just to replace it with a freakin straight pipe just for a barely louder sound

If it does, it will have nothing to do with removing the mufflers, lol!
