I sent the wrong package to a buyer not once, but twice. I triple check all my addresses, before sealing packages now.

I don't know that " not good at this" is very accurate. I worked for a retailer who had problems like this with corporate suppliers. The fact that you handle this without going corporate on those deals is a testament to your dedication to quality, service, and detail. I'd be honored to say you taught me how to weather these mistakes.

Back in the day I have had others steel my photos and it would make me mad because I put in the time and effort to do the work and someone else just took it... ebay used to ask them to remove the photos, I guess they don't anymore, but I don't even look at the competition anymore once I list an item

Years ago I had a new seller accuse me of copying their title and they were "contacting" eBay to report me. I sent them back a note that says how many words can you really use to sell a small antique medical bottle. There are going to be similarities among many of the same words selected for a similar listing. Then I mentioned that eBay not only allows it, they have a button called "Sell Similar" to make the process even faster to make drafts from existing listings made by others.

I was "ticked" because another vendor on Amazon used my pictures of our "handmade" product and the customer contacted us for sending INAD. It was not our product and it was not our label...I contact Amazon and there responses that the photos we posted became their property and available for all vendors to use at will....even when the product was not as described. I don't know Ebay's policy but it could be the same. As for the customer, I told them it was not our product and they needed to contact the company they bought it from...We are talking food items...controlled by in our case Ohio Dept of Ag and FDA...Theirs was not.

Tracy and I have had the similar issues with estates sales, Tracy asked the person how much something cost and was told $1.00. Then she brought the items up to pay for and they said "oh those are more," Tracy just dropped everything on the table and said called the person "bleep" and walked out. Another time this happened at a yard sale and Tracy was trying to buy something asked how much and the person said the price varies, ok no problem with that, Tracy said, how much for all of them? The response was well I have to look them up on ebay first, again she puts everything down and walks away. As she passes me, me holding a bunch of stuff, I hear "I am done with this (Bleeping) Yard Sale. My cue to put down everything I had and walk away. So we would walk away from the sale you talked about.

According to eBay policy, the pictures belong to eBay and anyone can use them.

At one time, eBay had a product catalog, with photos taken from various places that a seller could use. I can't find this now, and you can't just help yourself to somebody else's pictures.

Once someone loads pictures on eBay the pictures are available for anyone. They are no longer the property of only the poster.

@@barbaramelone1043 you have no copyright on pictures used in a eBay listing. They don't always enforce it but watermarks are not allowed just because of that.

Never a picture but a listing has been copied from my store. Found it funny because they left my bin location when I didnt know about the custom SKU location.

I've had exactly one person steal my pictures in like 3-4 years. It was a buyer who noticed it and let me know. I let them know they somehow ended up with my pictures because they weren't even selling the same product. (And I may have thanked them for thinking my bad photography was good enough to use for themselves. I take it as a compliment.)

I would walk away. I agree people with a emotional attachment should not be involved. I feel bad for the guy but at this point its just crap. It needs to go he can''t take it with him. This is why I am getting rid of stuff. I am not emotionally attached to anything unless its living. As for the photos I had something happen like this. It was so bizarre I just let it go, some people are so paranoid. Use my photos who cares because Ebay owns them once you post them. If its used you are not supposed to . On poshmark they can reposh and I let them use my photos. No biggy happy for the sale.

I sold a book to someone in Canada through eBay and she was asked for additional $ before it would be delivered. She was positive I was an international fraudster intent on stealing her $29 but I had messed with the WRONG buyer this time! Anyway, after a few days of genuinely trying to help this person the bottom line is that the buyer has to complain to eBay. There is a button at the end of the listing for their purchase where they can ask for eBay help. Even if you really, really, really want to help them (in the event they were crazy and helpless, for example) it is not possible - there is no vehicle through which you can be involved, informed, anything. Hope this helps.

You shouldn't throw away a watch, simply cause you broke the crystal. Crystals aren't difficult to replace. You probably could've gotten $20-$25 for that $40-$60 watch, even with no crystal.

I would have said keep your junk! I worked for a retirement community for years that was full of people like that. Most people in my area hate them. When I used to drink liquor the people that worked at the liquor store would ask how many of those assholes had died this week. They did so in front of many of them. I used to let eBay use the stock photo eBay had because most of my store is media related after a few really angry customers that thought an item was better quality because of that I just decided to take pictures for everything.

Agreed, who really gives a crap about the picture thing? If you're that worked up about it, put a watermark on them, but that's also a huge waste of time & effort.

I would have probably tried to save the deal at 1st, buu after about the 2nd item, i would have said, just refund me and if you decide what's for sale, lmk, maybe we can make a deal. EIS to Canada takes forever, not only in Canada, but from the hub, i got a neutral feedback because it was 3 weeks past what ebay gave them for a delivery date. And well, shipping snafus happen to everyone, so you can only learn and move on. Idk who has the time to look through all listings to see if someone is stealing your pictures, seems like a weird hobby, watch some tv and relax Karen 😂
