One of the things I take into consideration when looking at sell through rates is the season. For example, if you’re finding great winter coats in July, the STR will be lower due to the season, but it will sell well in the fall. Same thing for Christmas and other holidays.😊

Some items are seasonal. I take that into consideration on sell thru rate.

Something that is deceiving by sell through rate, that i buy frequently is holiday items out of season, but pretty well agree with the rest of everything, i have a weaknesses for hats myself, i love vintage hats, and hats in general, so you just have to be prepared to sit on them until the right buyer comes along. Another great video.

You don't sell if you don't list, list list & the profit is at the purchase price. The sale require good photos, good description, shipping price & good customer service.
@craigwinans1948
@craigwinans1948 5 дней назад
Don't worry about STR. Just check for how many sold in 90 days. Then take 90 divided by the number sold and you will get how many days it takes on average to sell 1. If you are the lowest price, you should sell yours in that many days. If yours doesn't sell and someone else's does, then compare your listing to theirs and see what you need to change in your listing

Not to nitpick, but your STR equation is incorrect. Sold / Active is not how you calculate sell through. The correct equation is Sold + Active = total available in the given time frame. Then you divide sold by total available. Example. 50 sold, 50 active. 50 + 50 = 100. Then 50 ÷ 100 = 0.5 (50%). It's impossible to have a STR greater than 100%, you can't sell more than what was available.
@consignmentwares1433
@consignmentwares1433 5 дней назад
Also NOT the correct formula. You need to account for the items that were listed but did not sell. Items Sold / (Items Sold + Items Still Listed + Unsold Expired Listings)
@robsomething4435
@robsomething4435 5 дней назад
@@consignmentwares1433 that unsold / not listed category on ebay is not a good data point due to all the end and sell similar activity on the platform. It dillutes the numbers too much to be anything close to valid data.

I do discrete comping at sales. I put condition there, typically it's, no noticed wear see images for full condition, and I have it on copy paste. I wouldn't put tape on the design. Put tape the other way.

Pirate Ship: We also ship all off eBay sold items with Pirate Ship Labels, as well as our personal items. Also, since the last USPS changes adding separate fees for 15-15.9 ounces and 16 ounce rates, I use Pirate Ship for items between 15 and 16 ounces. Every time eBay sends me a survey to ask: "how are your last 30 days of sales going" I add a response about how long it's going to take eBay to "fix" the issue on their site and accept decimal weights between 15-16 ounces, the Pirate Ship has responded. It's amazing eBay is still overcharging their sellers in this situation. Our eBay stores are linked to Pirate Ship and the set up on Pirate Ship, to pull in eBay sales was pretty fast. Once it's set up, it's a one click deal to pull in all you sold items on shipping day.

Refunding the Customer: I had one a few months back that went that way. It was an INAD in which corresponding with the buyer resulted in her admitting that she had basically ignored the photos, missed the details in the descriptioin, but felt was all my fault anyway as the seller. Those are the ones I dig my heels in and call eBay. First call, the rep said she'd close the case in my favor, but to call back after the "3rd day". Second call, the rep felt I should give a full refund and pay return shipping so the Buyer had a 'Positive Customer Experience". I got annoyed and told him to consider a Positive Seller Experience too. The first message I got back was that the case was closed in my favor. The second message went on to say that it was closed, but the buyer would also be paid. It's happening that way more and more often, taking several contact attempts to resolve what should be basic Seller support and in the end not liking the final resolution,, since eBay is basically rewardiing admitted bad buyer behavior. When eBay pays both the Seller and the bad Buyer, all Sellers pay for that double expenditure by eBay. The exception for me were the couple times my calls have been forwarded and serviced by the UK call center in Ireland, with is odd since I'm in the US. But in addiction to their wonderful accents, which are a pleasure, they seem to be able to grasp situational details and are empowered to take action with a single phone conversation.

eBay Customer Support continues to decline: eBay Call Back, depending on the day and time called, often loops you around a few times on the web page and dumps you into the Automated Assist. Then you have to type “speak to a rep”, “Customer Service” or even “Talk to a Humane”, to get past the AI. Sometimes you get a choice to have them call back or email and if you chose Call Me Back, it will open the “call me back” link, but sometimes there is only the single option to send an e-mail. Then it’s hit or miss to ever get an eMail response back. I’ve never used eBay for Business, since I don’t Facebook, so what you describe has been my norm for several years now, ever since they did away with the direct 1-800 contact method. If, and it's a big if, you can get past the looping, the AI and get the screen to have them call back, that usually happens quickly. So if that was your first time using the "Help" Page route, you got lucky. I've had days when I never got out of the web page loop, or even get past the Automated help section. Sending them an email is a lot less likely to get a positive result. Their email often comes back with a stock response directing you to a policy section, page which is rarely any help at all. Then, once you get a live person, they are often not empowered to really solve any hard problems. It’s been a steady service decline for years and the loss of eBay for Business is just another example of the decline in support and increased use of automation to deal (or not deal) with a Seller's issues.

CTBids is an auction front end for Caring Transitions. They're a full service "senior relocation" group. They auction whatever doesn't sell at their estate sales. If you don't see Caring Transitions in your local estate sales you're not going to see them pop up locally for CTBids. (Locally where I'm at they're not a quality organization. IMO you're not missing much.)

I use Pirate ship exclusively. We have it linked directly to Pirate Ship. It’s very easy to integrate so I never have to copy over tracking. In most cases, it is cheaper than eBay shipping. On few occasions when the package is large, eBay can be a little cheaper. Very rarely though. Also, if it is going to Porto Rico it’s easier to ship through eBay. Fun video! Love seeing what you guys find in the great white north. 😂

I'm far enough south I don't really have a dead sourcing time. It's why i like commons. This summer was a little too hot and so yard sales were low, but enough estate sales to entertain me. I don't know what happened this summer but last was far better for me. I have one that does ebay or higher, I go the first day to see what they missed and what they have, and the last day cause I know 99% will still be there.

Yeah but where's the scam? It sounds like the man was stressed out and returned the wrong books. He didn't lie, he just got confused. I agree with eBay because it showed some compassion for the man working two jobs and dealing with a sick person in the family too.

Thanks so much for the video. Did eBay supply you with the affidavit or did you have to find one somewhere else and send it to them? Thanks, this is extremely useful information to know. I was scammed on Ebay twice. Once with a New Coat with Tags and the original Garment Bag, It was $200.00 and sold for $50.00 What was returned without the Tags was a filthy Jacket was returned! The next was a new one with Tags. Returned with all the wrapping removed, peeling. The free items, that I usually send were kept!

It’s much easier to list and no selling fees now I have been selling on Mercari for 4 years now and it’s a good selling platform maybe not as good as eBay but still good to make some extra cash and expand your chances of selling your items
