It is best to drink alkaline waters anything closer to 7 or more so that the body does not have to spend energy to maintain its pH balance of 7.3. Our body naturally maintains our pH through breathing, through our kidneys and other metabolic processes. The less we force it to correct itself, the more it can spend that energy on keeping our body in optimal shape. If you drink soda beverages, eat pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers and other fast food that is very acidifying for our body, the less it can maintain our other systems in optimal condition because of it having to spend that energy balancing the terrible diet. Do Olympic athletes consume these before their events? Never... They know exactly how these foods are processed by the body and how much it will affect them metabolically. Alkaline water may be beneficial for your health as long as you have a healthy balanced diet. However, if you are a strict vegan and only consume alkaline foods and also drink alkaline water, then perhaps you may be overdoing it with alkalinity. We should consume 80% alkaline foods and 20% slightly acid foods. Life and health are about balance...

If it gives you a headache, clearly stop drinking it. However, it may also be interesting to test its pH using a $10 pH test strip kit as I did in the video. I had never heard of that water until now. Upon reading up on it, it looks like a good solid water, however it is from Reverse Osmosis purification and this purification system often leaves the water deficient in the right mix of minerals to provide an optimal response from the body. RO systems remove 92-99% of minerals from water, including beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium. This can leave water with an acidic pH and may require alternative dietary sources for minerals. Perhaps simply taking an additional multivitamin can solve your issue if you still want to consume that water. Please update us if that resolves your headaches... :)

The first 2 images showing Kirkland's pH at 6.6 are the correct readings and images. The 3rd image showing it with a pH of 7.0 is a typo. Thank you for pointing this out to us and we apologize for the mixup.

It is ok that it has sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), it is the most effective way to alkalinize water. There are other methods, but this tends to be the least expensive vs expensive machines that cost thousands of dollars.

It’s not misleading. You’re exactly right, they do become acidic in the stomach. Drinking alkaline water neutralizes the acidity in the stomach which help to keep a regular ph balance. But drinking acidic water adds up to the acid in your stomach which makes it more concentrated and therefore the body struggles to maintain a balance ph.

Yes Alkaline water is a gimmick. Alkaline water is worthless unless you have a strictly all Alkaline only diet… and yes everything that hits your stomach immediately turns acidic.
