Most of intelligent mind of India never attempt IAS exam, because exam is purely on memory test and carrier risk is high. We should allow the other people who perform well in their respective filed.
In India not everyone is preparing for upsc. Most of the Intelligent students these days take science and become IITians. Dumb students take arts and attempt UPSC
I Support Lateral Entry....We should use expert knowledge from society...Civil Servants become relaxed over the period of time. They don’t have market exposure...But many talent peoples in our country have far richer knowledge than these BaBu log...secondly we should be more focused on merits than reservations

Instead of lateral entry, they could have made a prerequisite for that student for certain background can only apply for services like an already chartered accountant who has cracked UPSC recruited to IRS for example. The importance of cracking an exam and most importantly the experience and the work pressure to administer complete districts or ministries and a country cannot be well of a sudden understood by anyone who has achieved a position in his small organization who for his life has given himself for only profits. There is a difference between running a country and running a company. Our country is a socialist, secular, democratic, and republic and this scheme is against the norms. Also Civil Servants are given study leave so that they can get expertise degrees in top universities. What is the use of it then?!

And as far as appreciation part comes well if u have heard the debate many of the panelists were in principal agreeing to the step that government took so u can't say that they are not appreciating... There were some genuine concerns and the Government should come clean over it

We already have a deficiency of 1500 post of IAS and this modi govt has been reducing vacancies.... On the other hand there are bringing from corporate... It is important to understand the experience part, there are many good IAS officers with very good in academic record but they are more theoretical and some cannot take bold decisions (or) succumb to their political/ bureaucrat masters, it is time to bring in more sensible players who are very good in administrator to go inside the top post in govt, provide new energy and lead the execution. We have been cribbing about a lot on impl while the policies are good, appoint good senior people at the highest level to see the difference. Not everyone has to pass the IAS examination especially for these top posts mostly the experience matters than academic. And NDTV, please have some courtesy for people who are talking in favor of the policy, don't laugh & mock them down, really bizarre to see the anchor trying to suppress the voice of govt and only make opp talk to serve the political master. After Rahul Gandhi became president NDTV and congress only offering reality comedy show, nothing substantial...

Lateral entry should be limited to certain number and recruitment should be made through written examination... Otherwise it will most doubted recruitment...this is the advertisement to join the RSS...because RSS candidate will be preferred for the post...
