LOVEBITES announced the departure of Miho (bass), the band's founder and leader, and a hiatus in the fall of 2021. Then, after two marriages and births, and one Prizes in a fitness competition, they returned in March 2023 with a young genius bassist, FAMI. Before starting this song, vocalist Asami said. 'We are finally all five of us together.' We are finally reunited with everyone who gathered at the venue." Now is the time for all of us to unite."

Singer Asami. Was an R&B singer and didn't really know what metal was when she was recruited for the band. Also she is a trained ballet dancer. Not sure of her vocal training. Yup, Japanese. Yup metal. Yup inspired by a lot of 80s and 90s metal, eg Maiden, Helloween etc. Yes Asami sings in English but has quite a strong accent. This is one of their more fun fan anthem type songs. Their other songs are generally thrash metal (think Metallica), Power metal, ballads, the very rare bit of 80s cheese, a few that are getting closer to symphonic metal and few that are.... I'm not really sure what they are. If you do go for more Lovebites, a few things. Their lives are almost always, possibly always, best. Music videos are really good and worth looking into, but lives are better. They have a pretty dedicated fan base and seem to, at least from the channels I have seen, pull in a good few subs and comments. There is a whole rabbit hole of Japanese all female metal bands of which Lovebites is one. There are at least another 4 or 5 that are amazing. Then there are a load that are female fronted with male musicians but that are also great and quite different from anything in the west. Kinda like the whole 70s and 80s Western rock going over to Japan in those decades, well now it's happening in reverse and lots of the amazing metal bands are coming from Japan to the west. Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. This epic song it is the anthem of Ladies and Wolfpack. LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. For me, the top female bands in Japan are Band-Maid, Lovebites, and Tident. But there's also Nemophila, Hanabie, and many more. YOu can't go wrong with any of them.

Yes they are one of the best. Liliac is great but they mostly do cover songs and only have a few good original titles. Some are great but most are just so/so. The Warning is a rock band and not in the same genre as Lovebites who plays heavy metal.

These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just 7 years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band, no opera training. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Miho (former bassist and founder of the band) said in an interview that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Their live performances are just outstanding. They have about 60 songs. So far LOVEBITES have released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of DVD/Blu-ray live recordings. Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. The Japanese metal/rock scene is the beat in the world currently. I've been lstenting to metal for 5 decades and Lovebites is the most talented group I'v e heard since the 80's/90's. Elite musicians. The Warning is great and more popular (Rock, not metal), but Lovebites is more taleneted. No offense Liliac is not even close in musicianship. Solid, but not even close. Great track, but they have alot of more trashy tracks as well as power, speed & ballads.
