We got a new archer in the house! I met this power couple at TAC Utah last year, Audrey didn't own a bow and wanted to get one in 2024... I offered to host them for a weekend and help them get connected with MFJJ at Spokane Valley Archery for a bow build. They flew up and the rest is history. It was fun weekend and it's always exciting to see somebody dive into the deep end of archery!
It takes people like you being open and inviting to continue to grow the sport of archery and hunting. The more shooters and hunters there are the more voices there will be to protect the sport we love🙂. Thank you Dan👍
Can you make a video of your complete tac setup like what you would wear, equipment ( harness, how you hold your arrows, backpack) literally everything you would take on you for a tac event, it’s my first year and I don’t know what to bring as extras. Drinks snacks or how to carry stuff
This was by far your most genuine video you have done to date. Inviting the couple up to the shop was awesome ... and getting them set-up and ready to go for a 3D archery shoot the following day was lights out. Looking forward to part 2 😜👍👊🇺🇸
This video was incredible!!!!! I watched every second and never lost interest you should definitely start making more of these buy build and shoot videos
She came so, So very close to choosing the better bow! hahahaha- No matter the choice, welcome to being a bowhunter and an archer! Its nothing short of life changing
Loved this video. It was cool to watch the progression and then seeing you guys interact was great. I also like that you took the time to correct the issues that you saw. He was a good shot already so I can imagine that he will get better now that you have his bow fitted properly for him. Audrey is definitely going to be a great competitor. You can see it in the practice run. Looking forward to the next vid.
@@DanBrando 12:29 Dan refers to Spokane as "Spokompton" because the actual city portion is kinda run down. Its not really that bad of a place, it's just how the locals refer to it jokingly.
Sweet detailed video. I just went through this with my wife. Narrowed it down to the Prima and Image and she chose the Image hands down. Great choice for ladies with more moderate draw weights.
I’m excited just ordered like $600 worth of stuff from podium archery, I also ordered a modsaw cause, cause of you Tim and mfjj I’m really focusing on building my own arrows and getting better at becoming a better archer, and hoping to eventually have my own home shop to do everything myself
Doug has been awesome (probably overworked, too). I've had the pleasure of dealing with him via emails & he gets things done! Tell Josh to get another batch of his draw boards made, i missed out on the first run 🤬🙃
Man i was looking forward to hear the price.😢 would love to be able to come up there and get set up and shoot the 3-D course! Hopefully someday in the future!
She was a good sport ! Cute as a heck ... and shot well for a beginner . I've decided you should have more female guests as it adds a new dynamic to the content .. There are a growing number of female archers !! MFJJ was glowing the whole time lol
I agree with mfjj she does look like eva and I do believe dan had some influence of her getting a Mathew’s and I think dan and Tim should both spend a day at the range and help mfjj repair a lot of the targets hashtag gilt Tim and dan into making mfjj range great again lol god bless you guys and keep up the great content
This was good info on draw length also, so here is what I just went through... Too bad you are a 2 day drive away and a different country. I think all the varying "methods" from the shops setting you up and giving advice has the potential to be very damaging to ones form. The reason I mention this is I recently purchased a new bow and the draw length now is where it feels it should be, the previous set up I was drawing too far thus creating issues for me, especially when developing a form and habits and I could not get any consistency( i'm talking 20 yard consistently missed vital zones)thinking I simply didn't have the ability to shoot properly or bow hunt so I was almost ready to put the old bow up for sale and stick to black powder and rifle. So thankfully giving it one last try with the correct staff did save me abandoning the hobby but I'm still confused about the drawing with sight/eyes on target and see even pros doing it and if you can't you have too much draw weight. I'm not an archer, just a hunter who wanted to hunt in non -20 C conditions and get out more. Excellent channel and info.
I tried to love the Lift when I shot it this past week at my local shop. I ended up with the RX-8 Ultra. Glad she got what she wanted, though I am not convinced Dan didnt sway her. 😂 J/k Dan
I bought a brand new Hoyt torrex couple years ago n can’t find anyone around where I live to help get it tuned where it needs to be , my local shop is bunch of young dudes n absolutely no help. They’ve charged me 3 different times for doing nothing. And I’ve tried everything I can to do it myself and just can’t get it right . I’ve got really bad arrow wobble I’ve tried different spine arrows. Adjusting rest n timing . My release Everything I could . N can’t get it out.
Great video really enjoyed it! Hard to believe Audrey is a beginner! Are you sure you guys didn't set her sight tape off a little. So, she wouldn't show everyone up? Lol
Hmmm Lift vs PSE as the final choices… Wasn’t there another slightly less fit guy who narrowed down the bows to those two, settling on the lift, last Nov on MFJJs channel!?! 😂 Nicely done Audrey
Mathew's modules work good if you know your draw length and your buying them to adjust draw weight. However I know my draw weight and am over buying modules to get my correct draw length. I say this because I know my draw with an index release but as I transition to my UV button I once again have to buy more modules.... I've already bought 2 sets of modules for 60$ each to get my index length set close and I cant get it precise bc mathew's are 1/2" while other manufacturers offer 1/4". Elite and hoyt are so much easier to switch draw length and letoff I have no reason to buy multiple modules from mathew's. It could be that 3 of my local shops said my DL was right and after shooting 5k+arrows I decided where my DL needed to be and I'd bet mfjj could have helped me better in the firs place.
I have a dream where I get a bow setup from MFJJ and you film me punch my trigger and in walks Joel Turner and we just fix all the stuff that is wrong with me and my setup and everything is well and right in the world. Then I wake up and I realize I’m just gonna keep second guessing my tune and keep trying not to punch the trigger lol. One of these days imma save up the money. Drive out there and get a full bow setup from SVA, but that day is long away.
Mathews shooters be like 🧚 just kidding great episode Dan and gang. Audrey does look some like Eva and seems to be a very competitive person , welcome to the world of archery cheers
