It’s good that the vet didn’t find anything too horrible. I think it will probably take longer than the 14 days though. As soon as the medicine kicks in and the inflammation goes down she’ll be doing more again & it could become a cycle of medicine, a month or 2 free of pain then back on the meds. It’s still a lot better scenario than it could have been though. A tip for tablet cutting. When you cut the tablet, line the knife up and put a cloth or tea towel over it. That way the pieces will be contained. The animals are all looking superb. 💖

So the pain medication I use for my back is also used for dogs, arf arf 😂

We give credillio for fleas and ticks to our german shep and the belgian malinois. And it's funny, he's just like duhhhh and eats the pill. The Mal, she knows the package! And her mouth starts to run and foam and she pops her mouth. It's hysterical! And she knows your comin and locks her jaw. She knows the pill no matter what it's in. We get it pre ordered on a schedule and she even does the mouth popping to the box when we get it in the mail!

Hello I know you guys get lots of comments but I thought I would again mention that my dog had the same limp as he grew and it has a long name for the problem but essentially it is growing too quickly that causes the pain. I got the same type of medication that you are using to ease the pain and you will see a noticeable difference after the use of that for a few days, but in a few weeks, the pain may come back, and the limp come back another dose of painkiller, and it goes away again. Once my dog was full grown, even though it wasn't supposed to stop the problem, his leg no longer bothers him. our vet indicated it was due to growing too fast and that the puppy food has too many calories for them and so better to put them on regular dog food, this made a huge difference for him. He slowed down his growth a bit and the limp eased. He is now full grown, no issues, and is the size and weight. He is expected to be. Our medication was previcox. Best of luck to Cora. Our dog is a Great Pyrenees.

I'm loaded with arthritis and I'm 64. The Meloxicam helped with my pain. Yes I need to ask Dr. to start me back on that. I forgot about it but it was real good. Worked great!! Will be praying for Kora.

Growing pains like humans? My husband was 6'8" and he used to talk about that. My son is 6'4" and he had knee pain all through high school. I suspected arthritis. My grandson, 16 now is 6'5" and still growing and leg pains, I am only 5"8" and leg pains periodically years ago. Now I am 75 and it is officially arthritis back and hips, lol. Thank you for taking good care of her. I have been concerned watching and was concerned about her hip.

Hey, Cora and I are on the same meds! Hope that works for her and it isn't anything else. Our animals are just like our kids!

Grinding felt with manipulation especially in a young animal is usually a sign of a break or damage to a joint. Next time ask for xray on first visit to save money. If she has a joint issue you might want to reconsider using her for breeding stock as those issues can be pasted on most times.

Next time, buy a pill cutter/splitter from the pharmacy or Amazon. It is usually a plastic box that opens with the bottom having a place to hold the pill and the top having a blade. Place the pill between the rubber on both sides of the lower side of the box. Then lower the lid that cuts it. Voila! It sure beats chasing pills around the kitchen floor.

They are hardy animals. But checking out anything not quite right is the thing to do. Well done and best of luck. No better employees than dogs.

I take meloxicam for my arthritis. Don'tskip a dose or she'll be hurting. My son experienced growing faster than his ligaments. Hot baths and rubbing his muscles, with stretching exercises helped. He outgrew it when he was a teenager, but it was tough for him. Especially when he was sleeping. He'd wake up with horrible pains, and we'd head straight for a hot bath at 3 am.

Kevin and Rachel, you guys should consider getting health insurance for all of your dogs. It may even pay for itself. Some even come with routine checkups, which I think would benefit your homestead, because they are working dogs.

You can break the Meloxicam with your fingers. A ligament or tendon that is inflamed hurts. I have had a few. Hoping this brings Kora relief. Kevin, you da man being able to tote her around.

Glad Cora got checked by the vet is hopefully on the road to a quick recovery. In wondering if maybe leas training along with load up into the vehicle training would be beneficial to man & beast, in the future. If they are accustomed to riding inside a vehicle it would be easier & safer also. My 120 lb Great Pyrenees could easily fit in my mid size car.

I understand about the parasites as we live in the Ozarks of Missouri We are surrounded on three sides by woods and keeping up with the ticks is a constant never ending chore .

Kora is a big girl, I am so glad she had a good visit to the vet, and I was 10 lbs. to light LOL and that may be why her hip is giving her problems is because she got so big so fast. I am still keeping her in my prayers, God bless you all and take care of yourselves
