Seeing the two of you working on the truck, like a team reminds me of my dad and mom. When dad was working on cars, mom was right beside him learning and assisting him. Keep up the good work!
All ways busy guys, not a bad thing. Do you ever take a break. I had several trucks years ago in the uk, always maintance to do, unfortunately you can never rely on garages to carry out all your work, hits you in the pocket to. Peace of mind knowing the job's are done properly by yourselves.😁👍
I see a great future for your family and generations here. 4 fleet of trucks, and add more to it and you got yourself a small company of hiring drivers and expand from there. I see you guys are setting the path for your kids. What a wonderful people. God bless your guys family
Your attention to driver comfort and safety is impressive . That's more of a beautiful old school looking truck with all the benefits of better fuel mileage . Happy wife happy life !!!
After all the trouble Peterbilt went to reduce as much Parasitic Drag from the Airflow all around your latest Semi Tractor; I wonder how much more fuel you’re going to need. Good Luck.
Really liked this video. It really shows how much work you do on the trucks when your not driving 12 hours a day. It’s always about the trucks. You guys took a week off and had fun now it’s time to get all those jobs done you have been putting off. In just two short years so much has happened to you guys and your company. It’s has been nice witnessing it. Other are failing , packing it in, selling there trucks and are going to flip burgers in the future. Not you guys. Your growing. Kind of says you just might know what your doing. It does look good on all of the people involved. Congratulations on your continued success. Martin is very fashion conscious when it comes to his underware , they matched perfect. Plus nice too hear you helping out Martin in the morning.. Will leave it at that. Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails and happy motoring.
a sleeper window is good on pass side to blind side in a dock if the power mirror is broke but you all don't have to worry about that you all stay safe out there enjoy your vids Martin and ALICE
Martin you are so funny, and a great family man. Loved watching Bert doing his thing with dad in the dunes, as well as Alice doing her own thing with her daughter. Great family vacation, but as always never long enough. Good luck to all of you in your journey through life. May God’s blessings be upon you and yours 😎
Would be curious to see if there is much difference between “Tiny “ and Alice’s new truck on fuel mileage with the changes glad to see your general maintenance keeping things running smoothly 👍🏽
Experience. Started in Jan 05, in a 2005 Pete 379 EXHD, w/ a fiberglass cap over the cab + sleeper. Left Wrnr and went to a franchise fleet inside Wrnr... to a 05 Frgtlnr Century w/o a cap. In 2005 & 2006. Nxt year, got back into another 05 379 w/o a cap, and THAT sleeper a/c could (almost) barely keep up w/ the summer heat in the sunshine. ( no APU )...
Martin....just something I used to do . Wire brush... Black spray paint, in all my trucks. Just something to have drivers do a little bit at a time... Helps keep DOT off your back and gives drivers something to do on down time..... Make it while you can hoss. Truckem easy
I’m back out on the road (blaming you two) and I enjoy your effort. I think that running the ‘new’ truck at least 60 days would allow a good baseline before any modifying. Stay Loaded!
nice work both of you guys including michael too..: you guys got to do some indian rain dances to get some rain to cool it off in which will be great for abit awhile
Lol never tried to wrap but herd it's pretty rough if you don't know what your doing so I know if y'all can't do it I know I'm not even gonna try lol y'all take care be safe new truck looking good.
What’s your MPG after you guys took off the roof spoiler any deference on MPG, I have the same truck I’m still thinking about removing on mine I do pull step deck
i've been watching all your vids from the beginning you really started off rough until you found ceva , i wish we had something like ceva in the uk they make it really hard to be a owner operator here
What did you guys do with the brackets on top of the cab and sleeper did you just cut them off flush or remove the whole bracket also seen you change the bumper do you guys have any idea how to turn the Bendix wingman sensor in bumper off. The right way not just unplugging it.
The only solution I found so far without getting into programming is putting a piece of cardboard wrapped in tin foil 7-8 times infront and zip tying it to the radar. The front radar is Peterbilt, wingman is the side blind spot monitor bs. The studs were cut and brackets were removed.
nah would of got one like that in the first place (like a TMC truck) I wanted the sleeker look this build so no stacks no exposed tanks. Plus tired of upkeep on those after Tyler (washing/polishing)
I posted a link in a comment when you got this truck and it was deleted. If you want a place for custom made chrome accesories, let me know and I will post it again.
Good morning Mr. Martin and Miss ALiSE are you guys going to try making that nice looking red Peterbilt a slam hoarded Peterbilt with that big red thing off the top of it can’t wait to see what you guys are going to be doing to that new Peterbilt you guys got I bet you guys are gonna make it look really good this is Norm Kolenda from Marlette Michigan blue skies sunny little breezy here too Right now it’s 67° outside today
If you’re pulling a flatbed you good to go with removing that roof fairing, any box trailers and you’ve just blown your fuel economy for the sake of looks.
You act cocky but your lying. I’m an engineer by trade and have hundreds of hours on wind tunnel and OTR testing on this very truck. You absolutely will see an 8 to 11% decrease in fuel economy……that’s a fact. Don’t mislead people into thinking you’ll not see a difference because the numbers don’t lie.
@@steves1007 This is Alice replying now and hate to tell you this but this truck is getting the exact same MPG as Tiny Dancer does (our ultraloft 579). You are wrong. Your “by trade” is wrong. You are not the one that’s inside this truck driving it right now seeing what is going on. You are some youtube know it all who is insistent on throwing his weight around because you need validation in your life that you are right because you said so. The rubber flaps that we took off account for very minor gains, the roof cap was replaced with another more visually appealing one that is the exact same height as the factory one was to encourage the airflow over the trailer. There is no loss on miles per gallon and actually there are so far only gains from what this trucks lifetime average is with me being behind the wheel and the weights we pull of more than 1 mpg so far on this first trip out with the truck. All the factory aero stuff had this truck at 6.5 mpg with pulling a van trailer with the former owner. I am at 7.5 right now which just so happened to be Tinys round trip average last week. And yes I will film the fuel receipts between the 2 trucks and the pen to paper miles for Battle Mountain to Denver to Laramie fill up. Same exact route for both trucks extremely similar conditions as same days of travel. It will be about a week and half out however due to video filming/a airing dates. Just because you said so doesn’t mean you are right here. Not your truck. Not your fuel bill. Worry about your own stuff.
@TruckingTogether So the question? Is not comparing it to another truck the question is did it reduce that truck's fuely economy from when it had all the aeroscoth on it???
Martin did that dealer you bought your new truck even service anything? I don't know how y'all do business that dealership unless they sell it to you real cheap! If they don't even check filters what else did they not check starting with the worn out front end?
I agree. Isn’t that one of the reasons why they bought it? They can do whatever they want because it’s there truck and I do think it looks better however I think fuel economy was there goal for this.
no. it will still do better mpg than Tyler even with those ugly things removed. I’m not out here to look like every other company truck and the difference is maybe tenths of a mile which can also be made back up in driving habits. It is not the only reason we changed trucks I just said it would get a couple mpg better than Tyler as it’s one of the reasons which helps offset the cut rates we have now. Main reason, Tyler’s time is running out on extensions for CA and I wanted the same transmission as Tiny
I love the channel I really do. But in my opinion. The money you will save in fuel. You're gonna end up spending on DPF problems and DEF flui Then you will be right back where you were at with Tyler. good.
At 16:32, Alice says that Martin has color coordinated his underwear today to truck…doesn’t he always wear red, because it’s the only color seen in various videos?
I will never understand why you don’t fit a spare tire and some spare tools/equipment up there…. it just needs to be covered on the back and now you can save yourself on roadside bills. ooorrr you could just remove it and lose all that real-estate. Looks good, but c’mon. I guess if it’s not big enough for a tire, maybe it’s not enough room for tools, idk.
there’s no room for a tire the way those are designed and if there was one up there you would be hard pressed to not kill yourself while taking it down and balancing on a ladder
Not one change you’ve done to the truck increases your revenue one red cent. Just waiting money, and I wouldn’t stay leased to a carrier that decreases your contracted rate. y’all are on the Velox18 business plan.
I’m back out on the road (blaming you two) and I enjoy your effort. I think that running the ‘new’ truck at least 60 days would allow a good baseline before any modifying. Stay Loaded!
