Why do all of the guys on car videos channels , turn in to comedians and take away from the content of the video . seen fake to over reacting to cutting a bolt , screwing around will get someone hurt .
So many car channels focus on rare cars or expensive cars that I have little to no chance of ever owning. I love the videos about vehicles i might actually be able to have as a project of my own one day
I love all your content. This is just great… In case you decided that V12 can’t fit in the Fox Body, what about putting it into a very clean Panther car? A Maurader with a V12 and a Tremec T-56/TR6060 would be amazing.
I think that measurement procedure Barb used to determine, eh, diameter (?) is illegal in some states 😎 Nice work on that carburetor! More surprise blow-up confetti things!
Add to the list for a better and responsive truck: Newer starter, 2 barrel carb and intake, 2.5" dia. tube exhaust from manifold aftwards , 3.73 gears + lsd, dial the ignition, and it will slide. Oh dont forget a fan clutch! That'd help that slant/6. Further budget would be great to take that tranny to passon performance for improved gear ratios (maybe they can sponsor a tranny). Killer killer killer truck! Loved this ep. Over here currently restoring 2 little red express and dailying an '82 royal ramcharger 4wd.
Never really been into pickup trucks but this would be very cool to have in the garage to tinker on and drive around, he'll might even cause a little ruckus for a 1st pick up truck. Low and mean ftw !!! Also sent over a pizza order 😊 enjoy guys 🤘
Went to a wrecking yard and asked if they had any carburetors. The younger guy stared at me like he had no idea what I was talking about, the older guys just laughed and said nope, nothing that old.
This has been one of my favorite builds so far. There is nothing here that I can't do or can't afford. That means a lot to me. Keep up the great work guys!
These odd ball cheap projects are what so many guys need right now for motivation. Too many 6 figure builds on social media right now. Get it rolling then worry about getting it right.
@@StayTunedTA I had a 64 m100 long bed removed a bunch of leafs from it laid it on 17” ram steel wheels a lot like the police wheels 300 6 4 speed with 3.00 gears. Unfortunately I had to sell it before I got to drive it but it was such a cool truck and I will build another one when my kids are older.
You guys are my current favorite auto channel. Like the variety of projects, footage, background music, conversation and jokes, and the pace. Great stuff - thank you!
The soon to be lost art of carburetor setup and rebuilding. It is about time Barb dusted off this Dodge, perfect shop truck. Also I love watching this channel grow! Whoever is editing the videos, you are doing great.
8:27 re: Z-bar linkage. An external hydraulic system has advantages (especially self adjusting), but a mechanical Z-bar setup can be REALLY nice if you replace the cheap factory wear-prone pivots with heim joints. My CJ7 was a mess to shift before the simple heim joint swap and now it's by far my favorite clutch to use. It feels like a bolt action rifle. My 5.0 MGB is getting a Nissan truck hydraulic cylinder on the T5 because joining the factory master via 3an braided is easy peasy. The builds on this channel are some of the best out there.
the trick on my 77 Nova 350 4spd. is to only use the clutch from a dead stop. and upshift w/o the clutch! work suprisingly well for the old saginaw M21! ive never used the clutch to slow down w/ my old car i let it in neutral and use the brake. since they are cheaper and easier to replace! 😁
Projects like this make me hate my state even more. This truck would be $5,000 “Parked when ran but half of engine is gone and I’m keeping the tires, battery, gas, and you have to remove those for me and you’re not allowed to drive a trailer to it so you’ll have to push it up the hill 300 yards to the street after you’ve removed everything I’m keeping. No lowballers.”
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. Finally you guys are showing those who think that spending a lot of money to build a killer truck is not realistic ! What has been done is killer ! 🍕🍕🍺👍👍👍👍
Thanks for showing the 72-93 Dodge trucks some love. This could have easily been another C10 revival 🤦♂️ Also thanks for the detail you shown on how to flip the rear and lower the front. Lots of questions get asked on the group pages about this and from now on I will reference this video
Id love to work in a place like this. Just helping out on super crazy, nasty hot rods all day with the boys. All the builds lately have been killer, shout out NEPA!
I've heard many times over the decades you can't kill the slant six, but I grenaded my ex's in her 68 satellite just driving it normally. It gave me an excuse to hop up a 318 from a 70-71 Challenger, threw a 360 cam and x heads with Blackjack headers some turbo 400's with 2 1/2" exhaust off my defunct 440 barracuda and it was a hot screamer!😲👍 The slant sacrificed itself for better things. Cool deal with the truck.
I watched too many Emergency! reruns as a kid. Always wanted one of those Dodge trucks. Had a 91 S-10, loved the Sike-clone too. You're really hitting them out of the park right now. Plus we don't have to wait months for a 10 part series. Bought a hat and shirt a few months ago. Should've waited so I could grab a Sike-clonse shirt.
From one Pennsylvanian to another, Great video Tony! Love the channel, you and the crew look like you really enjoy working together. Ordered the new sweatshirt. I also have the Angelo's Gym and the Firebird 3/4 sleeve shirt.
Picked up an 85 D150, a few dings but no rust. $1700, slant six and 4spd OD. The block is cracked, he had straight water in it when it got to single digits last year. I’m swapping in a 318 magnum with a carb soon. Next year it’ll get a 5.7/8spd. It’ll get the van LCA swap and some drop hangers. The 8.25 will have to get swapped for a 9.25 when the Hemi goes in. This will be my son’s truck eventually. I’m hunting for a 72-80.
Tony, you’re a great guy, great mechanic and amazing fabricator but this truck and video was a snoozer. Consider going back to Cali and hooking up with Lucky again. Wish you the best from a big fan.
I would love to know how you arrived at that pinion angle measurement? No mention of the trans tailshaft measurement. Can't imagine it's pointing up, which it would need to do to make your pinion measurement work. Just saying.😮
I don’t understand why you guys lowered the truck. It will takes away the originality of the vehicle and improves nothing mechanically. You turned it into a mistake.
I'd like to see the guys put an aftermarket cam in this little six cylinder and maybe an aftermarket intake manifold and headers if they exist. Wring that little 6 banger out!
The Leaning Tower of Power. kid had one in highschool that we worked on in autoshop, Teach said it was probably one of if not the most reliable engine Dodge ever built.
Grew up with a 1974 two-tone (yellow-beige/cream) Dodge D200 that my Dad flew to Detroit for in order to get the exact specs he wanted. Had a 440 ci V8 engine in it! Dad intended to put a camper on, but it ended up being his work truck most of his life. Had some great memories driving in that thing!
Thats what i was hoping. I am a mopar guy and ive heard a slant 6 can b built up and b wicked. Unfortunately ive never seen it. I have dreams of doing it myself in some oddball mopar some day
I seen yall wanted to put the v12 motor into the mustang why not sell it and put that v12 into a truck and make it manual ? Some you don’t see everyday
You guys should've been building hot rods in the early 60's. The creativity and talent is through the roof! That sub $1000 truck is worth daily driving now!!
This video just gave me PTSD. I just took brake cleaner directly to my eye a week ago. Wasn't even using brake cleaner. I was cleaning out the floorboard of my car and hit it and it went directly into my eye. 😅
@@StayTunedTA yeah it was the first time I've seen brake cleaner since it happened. luckily I was able to find my way to the bathroom from outside and while I was washing my eyes out I called my mechanic friend and I asked if it's happened to him and he said yeah I should be fine. It was just way easier than trying to see what the poison control number was because I was blind. Definitely going to start wearing eye protection when I'm spraying off my brake rotors. 😂
Down and dirty! Confetti pop was the icing on the cake. Great little attainable type of build. Like a lot of guys in the comment section this is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. So many fun builds going on. Can't wait to see what's next, guess I just better ... STAY ⚡️ TUNED
Neat, the round light full manuals are the only Dodge trucks I actually like and you're right, totally timeless look! Nice find, there aren't as many of these left as people think. When they went to square headlights and EFI, yikes, tuck and roll. And hey, don't throw away all that genuine Dodge rust dust, some rabid Mopar guy is gonna want that for his fake 'survivor' restoration 🤣😂
BARB! WEAR EARPLUGS! I have a little kid too, I started wearing them because I want to be able to talk to him when I'm 80. My dad has hearing aids, and it's definitely ruined a part of our relationship. It makes communication that much harder.
