This video is sponsored by Competitive Cyclist. If you're thinking about a new bike rack (or even if you aren't) check out the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-bike rack (bit.ly/3QNzeMb) and the 1 or 2-bike add-on (bit.ly/3qwPabf). We've been using this rack all year and absolutely love it -- it's super solid, easy to load and the 2-bike extension is so easy to install that we just pop it on when we need to transport more than two bikes.
And make sure to use code "SYDANDMACKY15" for 15% off your first order (some exclusions apply).
Over the past few years, we’ve dabbled in pretty much all of the ways you can race a mountain bike. Except one. This weekend, we’ll be getting the dream team back together, relegating Macky to Camp Dad status, and racing for 24 hours straight. It’s going to be chaotic. It’s going to be iconic. It’s going to be awesome.

Yo! Nice to see Bo again! It was really fun when Macky went out for follow footage. He was so fast, especially not having to conserve energy as much. It’s like “oh snap, here comes the super human!” I also really enjoyed the team aspect of riding together and the whole race in general!

Great race video! We love doing coed relays... I can't take credit for this advice, but our last race a guy suggested a shorter rotation through the night. It's really hard to ride back to back laps. Nutrition, lights, energy suffer... In the past we stuck to a strict A, B, C, D, one hour rotation,,, This year we tried something new. We rode A, B, C, D through the day and at night rode A, B, A, B, then C, D, C, D in the dark. We got more sleep, better refueling and recharged lights in the night. When the sun came up we went back to A, B, C, D rotation... Super fun! Oh and we won Oregon 24 ;) Thanks again for all you do... Love the channel.

Loved this video for several reasons. The night riding adds a completely different element to the whole thing. Also, I love night/ early morning riding. I've done Ragnar 24-hour off-road team races, which are wonderful and fun. While it's a logistical mess, it's a whole lot of fun when you're with people you like. Great job, guys!!!

Wow, amazingly filmed and edited. Truly great content….didn’t feel like 48 minutes. Great personalities and that follow footage was amazing. Only Macky would just do “fun” laps to capture all that. Thanks for the entertainment this weekend

To Lo: You give me so much joy and I can't explain it but also make me want to try mountain biking, even though I'm horrendous at gross motor skills. Your energy is the best, and I can't thank you enough for being you even on camera! Also everyone else: Amazing energy, but ya gotta up it to be troll night queen.

Absolutely brilliant, great fun‼ This Enchanted Forest race had it all: The Queen - Syd, The Prince - Joe, The Princess (in pink leopard print kit!) Lo, and the Shining Knight - Bo (aka Macky's stunt double, just with more hair!)‼ This race was so magical, riders got to see the moon at night, and many more the next morning near the finish line 😜👍‼We need some more Dream Team, team events! Syd and Macky, keep doing what you do 😁👍‼

I have lots of thoughts, but to keep it simple, that was superbly awesome, fantastic video and story-telling. Lo, I had a race I did last year where I had pretty bad brake rub too. Went back to the race course a week later, and put like 10 minutes on a previously hour-long course. And also, shout out to Tony for doing it solo. What a stud.

Amazing race! Reminds me of the MS150 that I rode 75 km on, legs cramping at the end. Mystical, magical, ups, and downs, along with the humour, seeing 1 foot tall frogs, and trolls. Love the follow rides. Don't you just love mechanicals, and the ever just make it before the lights die. Like that triathlon where that one gear just won't do what it was suppose to do. Or the ride where they required a bike mechanical before the ride, and I now didn't know what my bike would do, cause you are use to it after all the training rides.

Ever consider bringing an extra set of wheels for just in case? Is there rules against changing a wheel as opposed to changing just a tire? Or just no room in the car? Perhaos have one set up for just in case scenarios like this...one that works with both bikes...you could change out the tire for each specific race or just put a good all around type tire on and leave it for "The spare". Lol...I have zero racing experience, just a shop mechanic who doesn't even work with racers...so consider where this is coming from. New subscriber...enjoy your struggles and victory too. Do the math. Would a spare wheel have won the race or made your finish that much better? ❤❤❤

I am going to make a small historical correction, since the cyclist turned historian has not been right even one First the Spanish do not invade, they explore it Second, Cibola is not onion in Spanish, that is what the word cebolla is used for, Cibola refers to a legendary city full of riches, which during the viceroyal era was supposed to be somewhere in the north of New Spain, in what is today the northern Mexico and the southwestern United States. The medieval legend of the Seven Cities originates with the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula, where according to the story seven bishops left from there to later establish themselves in a land located to the west, across the sea, where each one would have founded his own city. The discovery of America in 1492 and rumors about the existence of large cities in the north of the continent made Brother Marcos of Niza affirm, without further foundation, that the legendary Seven Cities were hidden there, which provoked his intense search during the subsequent years. Without any result.

I have done 20, 24-hour races on teams and solo. Those races are some of my favorite, best memories. One of the 24-hour races I did, all the starting riders had to toss one shoe in a pile, run in the grass about 50 yards to the pile, and find their shoe, THEN start riding. Great times!

We have a team signed up for 24HITEF this year (2024). First time to go there. The course looks fast. Would you say it is mostly XCish? We've done 24 Hours in the Canyon at Palo Duro which appears to be a bit chunkier. Which tires did you use for this race?
