We tried a new way to play Pokemon Battleships 

Use the pokemon that prof oak shows in the intro as the free shot

I like the concept of this Battleship with the randomized free shots, but this was a rough FIR seed. Also, what was Shen talking about at the end? Is there going to be a FIR randomizer tournament 'cause that would be an awesome watch!

It would be nice to have the clock back on screen, or have the video edited to be able to use the video timer as the timer

Was that a valid strat at the end? You got Octillery but then restarted so you got all your candies back and ended the game still with a Remorraid? Feels odd, are those the agreed rules?

Maybe the randomized free shot offsets a bit the massive awkward part where the shots are basically the same.

I didn't know Bill calls you when you fill up your Box in Gen 2. Why did you mark the squares next to sunk ships as impossibles?

Butthurt Shen is best Shen

The thumbnail made me think that you changed it to where you just pick any pokemon to put on a ship space, meaning that for horizonital you're no longer just trying to catch everything in an evolutionary line. Although at that point, I think the game is closer to Guess Who or Bingo than Battleship. Could be a fun thing though, you secretly select X amount of pokemon and then your opponent needs to guess what you would have picked. I'd ban any of the choice pokemon like starters and fossils unless reloading a save is allowed, at which point the meta would be to pick all 3 starter evolutions so they have to be trained up and then you have to load your save and do it all again twice. Like if I had to pick 6 pokemon, I'd do that plus a rare pokemon that you can get early as a 1% or have to wait to late game, and a couple post-game pokemon. Or maybe I wouldn't do that but make you think that I did that so you waste your time and they weren't even my selections. Of course in a randomizer, that all goes out the window.

How about "whenever Chris and chen pass each other on the map they both get a free randomized shot." But this rule only works once every 20mins.
