The Battleship Race is based around the game "Battleships" where each player places Ships on a Pokedex Grid in a horizontal/vertical line. Everytime a Pokemon is caught, the other player has to say if it Hit, Miss or Sunk their Ship. Whoever is first to sink all of the other's Ships wins the Race!

SPOILER: It's really incredible how consistent it is at this point... When Chris gets a quick start, you can almost take a bet, that he won't have any luck for the final ship.

Crazy idea: 2v2 battleships map rando, where one person per team is playing, and the other is marking/routing. Sounds extreeeemely chaotic, and potentially hard to implement

I wonder how Shedinja works with this. Do you just get a free Pokémon if you evolve a Nincada or evolve into a Ninjask with an open party space? I doubt it, but it would be funny.

didn't you guys have the same rom? doesn't that mean that not every latias evolved into latias, since shens latias evolved into charmeleon? EDIT: or has it something to do with player id or something into which pokemon each pokemon evolves? EDIT2: definitely if chris had kept running that second latias it would've evolved into something different.. shens starter latias evolved into charmeleon and shens second latias evolved into banette.

The evolutions are randomized based on player id so the runs weren't all similar

@@giacomobusnardo8168 but if chris kept running the second latias it would've evolved into something else.. shens first latias evolved into charmeleon the second one that he got through evolution evolved into banette.

Would it not be optimal to put the exp share onto low level pokemon to get random evolutions every fight?

You're thinking about your info wrong. If you shoot a square in the middle of a wide open space that may only give you 1 square to cross off, but it does cross off 8 different positions for a four ship, as an example. While shooting in a weird outcrop may let you cross off a bunch of squares, but only 2 or 3 different ship positions. And those possible ship positions are what you want to shoot down. In other words: instead of shooting down 8 squares which taken together had a 2% chance to be where the ship was, you could have hit a single square with a 5% chance to be where the ship was all on its own.

The mod they use usually has Sweet Scent tm given instead of the Bulletseed tm outside Petalburg woods. Sometimes they use a different mod that doesn't have that option so sweet scent is not guaranteed. So what they're saying is there is no guaranteed sweet scent.
