Veena stores and 3 star. Ugh... its a legend.. Amazing food. Always. I think an openness to a state with a different taste is needed. Folks used to sweeter tastes also appreciate totally tamil dishes. Openness , guys. I am not even from karnataka, BTW

It's just that sambar is the most common dish we eat, when we see there's a difference, we couldn't help but complain. Not like we need to rage a war against you or something, just we have different preferences. Chill

@@snehajansi5365I think(strictly my opinion) we Kannadigas have a balanced sambar. The sour tamarind in sambar is balanced by the sweet jaggery. The spice is complimented by the salt. The Thanjavur cooks invented Sambhar in honour of Sambhaji Maharaj. When Shivaji's son visited Thanjavur the cooks wanted to give him a taste of home so they tried to recreate the Maharashtrian Amti, which had jaggery . So the original Sambar could have been sweet but there is no proof of that. But Amti being the precursor to sambar is recorded history.

OG Dosa is NEVER served with Sambar. Please don't taint it. What you do in Bombay, tumhi logon ko Mubarak ho. Also, you missed another of her most fav thing in CTR - Goli Bajji. You guys missed it.

@@doyouhaveaminute281 No it's not. Food history was not in Tamil sangam and Sambar has Maharashtrian origins. Sambhaji was touring Tamil Nadu and was missing the traditional 'Amti' and the cook prepared his version of it with available veggies and spices. Sambar is named after Sambhaji and this is a story from the 17th century so sorry for debunking your fake 1st century Tamil sangam stuff. Please do better research before crying here. You are embarrassing yourself.

3:44 CTR's best dish is their chutney (IMO) and dosa is fundamentally supposed to be paired with chutney while idli sambar dip is elite (for idli lovers, not me)

@BuzzFeed India: genuinely surprised at the lack of awareness...In Karnataka, dosa is typically had with chutney NOT sambar. That's how it's done at homes. Not every restaurant doles out Sambar!! Please do some more local research otherwise the video comes off as ignorant and disrespectful to local customs.

Abhinaya : after idly, “I am not a fan of mint chutney” That poor Pongal did not reach “THERE” They have my favourite chutney but still there is no Sambar Every side dish is sweet here 😅 In Karnataka we add jaggery to balance the sourness from tamarind Next time don’t come to Bengaluru to comment on our food in case you have too much problem with our food google tamilnadu style restaurant in Bengaluru and please go and eat there It is too annoying to watch you talk about food in Bengaluru
