I have been waiting for this video for so long. I was on cloud nine, when I met you unexpected Wode Maya. The most exciting part ,I'm in this video 3 times. Thank you so much. You are doing a great job. Keep it up!
As a Namibian RU-vidr 🇳🇦, I am glad to see Wode Maya promoting other RU-vidrs here👏🏽. As you visit Windhoek, Kapana should be on your list. We welcome you all to Namibia 🇳🇦
Through Wode Maya channel i ve learnt so many things but is so sad Ghana the dummy leaders don't appreciate what he is doing he far more better than all Ghana leaders
So much culture in Africa. Namibia, another country in my bucket list. Nice to know there are some African countries receptive to citizens of other Africans on the continent. Well done, Wode Maya. Fan from USA 🇺🇸
Amazing !!As a Namibian🇳🇦 I am happy to see so much positive reviews about Namibia and putting it out there for everyone to learn about us and our culture 👏 Welcome Wode!!! hope you enjoyed and to the future travellers heading to Namibia🎉🎉 Africa Unite💪🏿

@@onem.3361 going through rough times during which other African countries supported you does not translate to killing, raping, stealing and destroying their businesses. I know I am not going to south africa anytime soon. We all have our issues but theirs is really terrible.
@ patricia abijah he threw shade at SA but they not the only ones there are other Africans who feel superior to other Africans as well & don't even consider themselves as Africans so its not just SA ,I prefer SAfricans
@@jeswazwadi7049 I peeped that but giving him the benefit of the doubt I think he means that it’s unlikely that he or other foreigners would experience xenophobic attacks in Namibia compared to SA. But yes He didn’t have to mention that, experiences are different.
@@asteriashekupe To be honest most people who have lived in SA have told me the xenophobia is real however there are other African countries like Somalia & Ethiopia/Eretria who look down on Bantu Africans so it is not just SA
Maduka my brother exactly! We African's are one. We have a lot of common traditions, culture, cuisine. Our land borders are purely artificial we should disemphasize our artificial borders, and purported differences. Rather we should promote our unity and pan Africanism of our founding fathers like Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, Madiba Nelson Rohlahla Mandela etc!
If you're writing an exams and you're asked who a RU-vidr is, simply write Wode Maya and I bet even the dictionary will applaud you. This guy has opened the eyes of Africans to the beauty of Africa, something different from what we've been fed with over the years by the Western Media. By the way, kapana is suya in my country Nigeria.
🇯🇲Kapana is very much like jerk meat in Jamaica. The difference, with jerk, the spice is marinated into the meat overnight. The meat( chicken, pork, fish, conch) is then cooked/smoked over choiced woods to add flavor. Sweetened fried dough(cornmeal/flour mix)) & or hard-dough bread is served to accompany the meat.
Yummy that sounds delicious.I always tell people..some of the businesses our Caribbean diaspora can invest in On the continent should be The food industry ..your food is familiar, has a wide variety and looks delicious 🤤🤤😋 ..we have Chinese food, western, indian and Malay restaurants all over Africa but not Carribean food..its soul food and I know our people would love and support that.
I HAVE BEEN IN EUROPE, I MUST TELL YOU AFRICA IS THE BEST IN NATURAL FOOD. WE COULD BE THE MOST HAPPY PEOPLE IF WE BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE THE BEST. IF YOU WANT TESLESS ARTIFICIAL JUNCK FOOD THINK IT'S BETTER IN EUROPE THAN YOU CAN REFUTE YOU UNDISPUTED NEGATIVE BELIEFS ABOUT OUR CONTINENT
Thank u for telling Wode Maya that he is playing with fire by saying he loves food more than women..that is why the winter cold is going to deal with him 😄😄...thank u bro .love from Sierra Leone.
So amazed to see this as a Namibian and African.....Namibia will always welcome anyone from anywhere in the world. Well done Wode Maya and Cecy K. To our visiters remember never leave Namibia without visiting Single Quater. #Kapana
Maya, I'm African - Brazilian and I've been following your channel since the time you lived in China, btw I lived there too a couple years ago. Have you ever considered traveling to coutries outside of Africa to see the African influence around the world? In Brazil, for example, there is a city called Salvador, in the state of Bahia, where over 90 per cent of the population is black. Their cuisine is very similar to Nigerian cuisine.
You're also beautiful. It's says that beauty you see in another is reflection inside you. We forget ourselves and keep comparing to be others . Acknowledge yourself you are just beautiful like her and more so unique
Namibians are nice people.aAfrica has common food but names are different .In my country kapana is called Kamundele and that ugali is called fufu it depends on the tribe. It’s made of corn flour, corn flour with cassava flour mixt.Maya your personality makes everyone love u and feel comfortable. See you soon to my country
It is called single couters, because back then it was like an isolation hostel for the male workers that would come and work in the Urbun places back then during the colonial regime. And women were not allowed in. To mention a few. Thank you for coming Sir.
hello, kindly let me know how I can relocate from Kenya to Namibia. how is the education for kids, business opportunities or anything I need to know? can I lease farming land? how is pigs farming industry? how much is the rent?
You are correct sis.The workers were called contract labourers..most of them were aawambo men who would sign up for contract work in Luderitz, oranjemund ,Walvis bay and Windhoek. One historical contract worker was Tate Zacharia Lewala who was the first person to pick up a diamond in lüderitz Namibia in 1908(under correction) which triggered a massive diamond rush to Namibia especially Luderitz .. where they exploited the town took as much diamonds as they could and moved on to oranjemund which became their New diamond haven town.(Thats also how De beers/"Namdeb")was formed.
This is exactly what i love about this channel is when Wode is the man of the streets, I love the interviewing of people too but I also love the everyday life of the locals. This is exactly why I miss battabox the nigerian show it was exactly like this most the time too....
I've been waiting to hear the magic word "peppe"😂😂! WODE MAYA I love that you are open to trying the food/experiences and giving your honest review. Great job
You are right Maya. Most of the foods in various African countries are the same or made from the same farm produce. Interesting to watch this relaxing video that showcase Africa food. A true Mayan here sending you all the love and blessings. Thank you brother for all the good work you are doing.
Another great video Wode Maya. You know you should build on this fantastic effort you’ve made to enthusiastically show the world the best and genuine places of Africa . I see a food show, a hospitality show, an African business show. A Netflix series ! The world awaits you Bro
I'm so sorry you didn't visit my beautiful virgin country,Eritrea coz of the wicked dictator there, hope one day you come to visit us in our beautiful country,Eritrea 🇪🇷
@@tsehayegebrehiwot8607 not western country just u Eritrean people why don't fight our freedom. so sad to blame western. first if u are smart people u have to fight for ur futures. Eritrea is good country but many Eritrean left so sad.
Love the hospitality - Cecy K you did a great job ! Wode Maya I hope you had a great time in Namibia- I was not a youtuber when you came here but will definitely love to meet you when and if you come back to Namibia.. Otherwise we can meet in Kenya also ,hahaha .. Great content
@@WODEMAYA Please come visit Zambezi Region in Namibia when you come, nobody likes paying us a visit here 😭🤣 we are somehow a minority and we are always left out
One thing about Namibians, we love our meat and beer. Our beer is one of the best in the world (windhoek lager, windhoek draught, tafel lager etc) and we export meat aswel. Ps kapana with no liver is a crime
Ugali in kenya is made of maize flour, I can see the difference with isima from Namibia is made of millet flour... the rest of salsa is same as kachumbari from Kenya and kapana as chama choma... Africa is made of almost same culture, local foods taste similar and setra... nice video indeed... keep up the good work 💪🏾 WODE MAYA
It's mostly people from the Northern regions of the country that make "ugali" with millet flour. Not everybody likes it but those of us who come from those regions consume it the most. Ugali made from maize flour is what one would usually find in the shops made by Namib mills.
Even in kenya and specifically frm western kenya..we make ugali from millet, sorghum and cassava(this is traditionally made ,usually during dowry payments and very important function)
Ahmad, if you go to some rural areas in Western and Nyanza, you will find ugali made from a mixture of millet and maize flour, or millet and cassava flour , or maize and cassava flour. Any flour with millet in it, make a very nutritious ugali that goes very well with meats, poultry, and fish stews. Do not try with vegetable only stew because it is not very tasty unless you are used to. Anyway, African communities across the African continent seem to have a lot of commonalities when it comes to food and certain aspects of culture, particularly social norms. Awesome video from Wode Maya🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
We have brown ugali in Kenya too. Mostly western region. Made from a mix of millet, sorghum and cassava. My mum would say in olden days if a woman was able to properly cook this ugali then you were definitely ready for marriage 🤣🤣
That kapana is nyama choma in Kenya! I'm sure Wode Maya you've had a chance to taste it. Oshipima is ugali, obosuma or obokima in my mother tongue. Great job!
That is also ugali, Ugali, also known as ugali bogobe pap, n'simaoshifima oruhere and nshima, is a type of maize or cassava flour porridge made in Africa.[1] It is also known as ngima, obusuma, obuchima, kimnyet, nshima, mieliepap, phutu, sadza, kuon, gauli, gima, isitshwala, ubugali, umutsima, and other names. Nsima is sometimes made from other flours, such as millet or sorghum flour, and is sometimes mixed with cassava flour.[c
Indeed Afrika is one for sure. I'm an Afrikan living in the Southern Region in a country called Zambia and I'm Ngoni by tribe. We also call Fufu as Nshima in my language. #OneLove
Thank you my brother for changing the narrative of how other countries oversee think about African countries. You're doing a lot for African continent and you deserve a humanitarian award. God bless you and your work won't go unnoticed my brother Wode Maya. Thank you once more again for interviewing Dr. Helena Ndume, and I learnt a lot from your videos.
Nice love your videos keep it up first video I watched was wode in the himba village it was so amazing he blended in naturally I didn't even know he is a traveller all his videos about Namibia 🇳🇦 are so nice he looks like a Namibian welcome to our lovely country my brother
