We Tried The First 2 Player Nuzlocke of PokeRogue… again

This is probably the best version of a nuzlocke to watch. The pace of pokerogue is flawless, that is why I think it does so well on youtube. I watched the entire first video and this one as well because they don't feel like an hour, it feels like a 20 min video and that is what I love about it. I hope this series keeps going bc it is so good!

Couple of suggestions for logistics of pairs: 1.) Write down the pairs on sticky notes next to you 2.) Release dead mons and pokemon that don't get paired

I love Pokerogue and watching this series, but I agree that doing this as a soul-link is making it kind of awkward. The floor/wave system just doesn't work well with soul-link mechanics. It's too fast paced to have you both progress simultaneously, but it can also be weird for someone to be 5+ floors ahead, or even in the next set of 10. And getting pairs is a big halt in the flow, because the first person basically has to wait until the second finds something they want or gets through the set of 10 without getting anything (especially once you have teams of 6, you can't preemptively replace a pokemon before confirming a pair).

I think rather than limiting to one catch every 10 levels, they shouldn't be limited since they can't use revives anyway -which are a huge part of Pokerogue.

i just beat pokemon rogue it was so difficult my final team was Gmax blastoise Crobat Gyrados Alakazam Arcanine Kingdra i had alot of fun even though it wasnt a nuzlocke cant wait to try again and watch this

You can release Pokémon when one of you loses the pair. You go to the Pokémon menu and instead of switching it has the option to release. Edit: And they figured it out

You guys are stronger than i thought, been going to the gym for 2 years and can only bench 155 or 60s with dumbbells

I feel like every ten waves when the reset happens all Pokémon revive,makes it easier to remember as well . Also if you get another Pokémon of the same type you ahould probably release the first pair . Much love ❤️

Yeah, the Soul-Link element of this isn't doing it for me. I just don't enjoy watching y'all bang your head against a wall. If y'all don't want to jump back to fusions or Rad Red yet, why don't you two RACE in a Nuzlocke of PokeRogue? With types dupes, forcing to remember what you have with the other member, how imposssible and likely it is to lose a Mon in Rogue, i just think this will be multiple episodes of this.

Pokerogue was made for chaotic nuzlocke runs, making this comment after their first wipe, can't wait to see if/how they get to deeper floors and what they do if they roll into dna splicers

Shady missed out on a trailblaze electro ball Pikachu. I had one and it carried me all the way to round 110

Pikachu/raichu sweeps up to at least floor 50 it can start with nasty plot and thunder shock then gets electro ball early which kills everything after one nasty plot pair with a fighting type and the early game is cake

This series makes me want to do a pokerogue nuzlocke

I love the concept of this soul link but 1:release dead pokemon 2: possibly catch pokemon on the same floor so like 5 5 or something idk it just gets confusing and accidentally cheat when one person is years ahead of another person

Given the difficulty of this type of run I think it’d be ok to give each Pokémon a set of lives, probably 3, to give them more of a chance to progress. Or another idea would giving them the ability to restart the floor by refreshing the page of the battle goes poorly. This would also essentially give their Pokémon “more lives”. Don’t know how they would gain these resets but I think it’s worth considering. Not saying they can’t do it with traditional nuzlocke rules but wanted to throw these out there.

Legit just tried it for the first time not a nuzlocke but first go in blind I did all 200 floors so happy I took the fire starter he suggested and I had an axe kicking pure power medichan sweeping for days lol 😂

I love this game, but right now you guys have the game set up in a way that isn't the most fun to watch. If it were me, I'd keep the soul link and nuzlocke aspects, but free up the ability to catch some more stuff - you're limited to six slots so it's not like you can bank a bunch of fodder anyway. And considering you lose out on a bunch of levels, items, etc. when you lose a mon, just losing all that investment is punishment enough. **EDIT:** You could potentially "save" encounters that you don't end up cashing in on previous floors, so you bank one encounter per 10 floors - making it easier for you to rally if you run into a set of really rough fights after a long drought of having no extra encounters due to a full party or whatever. In this setup, meanwhile, if you lose a thing or two, you need to climb through a significant portion of the game to fill up your party again. So if you have a party of 6 on floor 30, and lose 4 mons, it's going to take you 40 more floors to even theoretically re-fill your party again. And you're going to have a lot of trouble catching mons in the beginning considering each biome pretty much has all mons of the same primary type (until you diverge, you're pretty much SOL for catches). So you're making it so that you lose out on a significant chunk of the 19 total encounters you're going to get (as you can't catch anything past floor 190 unless you happen to hatch or catch one of the Paradox mons from another source). Overall, I love the concept but you guys gotta give yourself the ability to get past the first 30 floors without beefing it!

Don't know if this makes sense: you could use the mechanics of the game whete you only loose if you wipe and you cant use a pokemone that are dead for that set of ten floors, you can only select items from the random rolled items, but on the full heal all pokemon come back to being usable.

This definitely is so much harder as a soullink because this inspired me to give it a shot and I've already cleared floor 60 on my first run. Though I've gotten super lucky and got the map and been able to choose grass locations and able to set up +6 bulk ups with Blaziken and Blaze Kick sweep.

You guys got me hooked on it! I did a couple of runs and made it to 182 and got swept by Aaron 🤦🏻‍♂️

Not joking: Technician Meowth with Fake Out +scratch + feint + Bite, clears to level 20 no problem. Usually you would KO with FO+Scratch, in case you dont, you can bite for flinches since usually you're faster! Hope this helps

Mega Alakazam is so good in this game. Psychic, Flamethrower, Calm Mind, Recover could solo elite 4😂. Adding a sleep mon is crazy for Eternatus. A pickup mon is also good (I picked up twisted spoon and many sitrus&lum to transfer to Alakazam)

Should 100% also do a VS series with this game

I loved the infinite and rad red stuff and would love to see dad vs the kids 2v2 but I don’t care much for this one but I’m here to hang out

I think they should do a cage lock however you can only have the first 4 moves the pokemon has, maybe randomise the moves so they don't just have level up moves, 1 perk could be replace the 4 moves but has to be used there so rerandomise the moveset of that pokemon, trade pokemon, so you pick 1 of you oponents pokemon to take and ability change, change the ability and nature of the pokemon, the last perk if you have all 3 is the reencounter dice, catch a different pokemon from the route that pokemon was on and keep both

Personally I just think you guys pair mons from each floor and try to make it through like you normally would in a classic run. If a mom dies, you can’t use it again until you reach a new biome.

Instead of a nuzlocke, I would love to see y'all do a race to 200.

Yo dylan I’m a personal trainer and former marine, if you are putting up 90s on db flat bench. I guarantee you have the strength to put up 225. I remember back when I was chasing 3 plates, I would regularly use 90s for working sets. You probably just have a mental block or maybe you just have dog technique 😂 either way you got what it takes so keep at it!

Any chance of getting a pairs overlay in future runs? Probably not worth it for the shorter runs, too much work for such little payoff. But maybe for longer runs, add them to the layout once you reach like floor 20-30?
