So Rennsport's big innovation is introducing shiny CoD weapon skins for 12 year olds into sim racing? Yeah if these things already show up in this early stage, you can be 100% certain these will be all over the place in a few years... if Rennsport still exists then

Trying to understand what Rennsport is trying to do here. Have yet to see anything above and beyond what’s already available for cheaper and not in beta. The second time in a week that we learned also that a game in development is selling DLC before the game is even finished. More competition is better, but I don’t see anything better here. Not worth throwing money at anyways.

Installed, drove 5 minutes, unintalled, back to LMU.

Paying almost 60 euros for a few liveries and name on billboard and on a track has to be the biggest scam ever. I know they try to sell it as a F2P game but that can't be the way to make a profit. I mean look at raceroom as an example. might not be the best sim out there. But that gives atleast some proper bang for buck.

I'll keep waiting till it's on steam and fully released before considering, thanks for the video though

1- Did they create a brand new physics engine? like, they started with a stone and they carved it into a city? I'm asking cause previous sims made us think this is impossible. Sims usually "pouch" a developer who has the code, or buy the licence or something.. 2- No need for setups, they are endless rabbit holes that only give the advantage to those who pay more. Just make it a sim without setups. Dare to try something new (a major sim with locked setups). 3- Important, did you notice anything new in the sim? anything innovative or revolutionary? for example I noticed many parameters on the screen and a rich UI. Is there anything this sim can do that others can't?

I think graphically this is the best Nordschleife so far. But the popin etc graphical issues take away a lot. Also being Unreal Engine the VR experience will probably be bad.

How do you rearrange HUD elements? I have been trying for months to sort that mess out.

Rennsport has difficult situation here. They need to offer something unimaginable to compete with the well established titles.

The intention of this game looks to be making money while it should be making a good game making money. Like they watched at F2P games and just picked a genre that did not have that. This system could work with an arcade racer but this looks like a doa for me

I am rather conflicted... The financial model of the game seems alright. It's free to play, has shiny content to bring people's attention. 20 euro for a car is close to iRacing model, which also requires a subscription. What probably is an unpopular opinion - I don't mind animated liveries. When given enough room, people love to customize their cars to some ridiculous levels. Though if we won't be able to design our skins like that, I'd be a bit disappointed. On paper it doesn't look bad, however, Rennsport still seems very rough around the edges. UI is still way too raw. There's lack of visual cues, icons, variety. All seem very monotonous. I know it's a beta and it's probably going to change, but I feel like this would require a core redesign of some UI elements. Same for in-game HUD. It just doesn't look that appealing when you take a quick glance. Another thing is graphics and that's probably what can be defined with "rough around edges" the most. It's easy to see they're using plenty of base Unreal Engine systems with ghosting motion blur behind cars, not overly saturated post processing etc. I'm afraid the game will lack in CPU optimization and will not be easily accessible to players that don't have the strongest PCs, yet it seems like with F2P model they tend to aim at such audience. Judging from the gameplay, cars still have tires that feel like they're made out of clay. It seems a bit more fluid than before but I don't think the characteristics are going away anytime soon. Feels like that's how the physics were written and they will probably not change it drastically any time in the future. I really hope they bring FFB to a better level. Using T300 in previous betas, there was almost no detail whatsoever. If they don't bring the base game to a better quality, I'm afraid that this entire plan will fall on its knees. The feeling of this game needs to be very good to convince people to spend so much money on it. They lean to the virtual side of things here, dealing with ESL, getting esport drivers. Real-life motorsport representation which excels in iRacing might have a much smaller role in here. I'm not sure if that will make the title appealing to a huge chunk of simracers. We will see I guess.

I have key since like 6 months and this game is one big disappointment they pumpin cash into these stupid esport events when game is garbage and develops so slowly that people will forget about it before it will even have chance to take off

Looks like it has the same graphical glitch as ACC, in external views the wheels dont look like they are rotating at the same speed as the car. Must be an Unreal engine thing.

uhm, is there no telemetry for simhub and motion from rennsport available? why would anyone want another unreal engine based simulator thats only half complete? remembering how much performance the unreal engine eats in acc i dont see rennsport skyrocket anytime soon. honestly, its kinda hard to see their vision for the game.

As I have stated elsewhere, The RaceRoom pay model doesnt work, I see nothing different here. AC Evo will be the new kid of the block, not this.

Thanks for video review. I just tried the beta and don't quite understand what more this game has to offer us that we can't do in other games. Can someone please explain. I run rtx 4090 and am not impressed with the track graphics. They are worse than Automobilista 2 which is an 11 yr old game. Track graphics don't even come close to Forza Motorsport or Le Mans Ultimate. Car graphics are good, however, the available cars are very limited. I am not sure why someone would want to invest their time and $ in this game given the current gaming market and especially considering Assetto Corsa Evo's soon to release. Love your channel content btw.

I dont like this particular "shiny" decal but im not totally against it as long as they have more classic livery than shiny. Im certainly tempted to try it out atleast and see for myself how it plays

Sooooo its RF2 with skins, a different UI, and less track car options... tough sell.

Also why no one of the big simracing channels are talking or playing this game.

Is DLSS, FSR or XLSS on by default? Might be the cause of the ghosting.

Got a closed beta key. Tried it twice and uninstalled. I've done testing before so aware of that but what was on offer was awful.

I tried the open beta on my sim rig yesterday and this game does have potential, but it can't compete against ACC, if it's one of the developer's goals with RENNSPORT.

Honest question for those of you saying Rennsport brings nothing new and that AC Evo will kill this game, what will AC Evo bring that isn't already on the market?

I'm still trying to figure out who this game is for. If you want to drive GT cars and avoid paying for iRacing, just play ACC. What is the market they are aiming for?

nearly 3 years and it's still so rough. even if the driving is improved that cant be only thing it's good for, there's already plenty of sims that do that.

Aren't the ghosting artifacts behind the car because of reconstruction technologies like DLSS and FSR, and not because of Unreal Engine?

I don't understand why this game exists in the first place, It's currently a more expensive and inferior version of Assetto Corsa Competizione. It has no mayor innovation, and it's comming out while Assetto Corsa EVO is around the corner. They're just dropping their special packages for some cash grab because they know it's already over.

Can anyone play in VR? I have a Quest3, connect via Link Cable, show my PC Screen (in Quest Link VR) and click on Rennsport. The game opens in a 2D screen in VR. I tried all possible Launch Parameters in EpicGames launcher like -vr openvr, -vr oculus, -oculus, -openvr, -vr, -openxr, -vr openxr and nothing works.

So they are asking for paid DLC's before the game is even launched? What a joke.

It looks like they couldn't solve the same issue that ACC has with the wheels rotating at the correct speed. Very minor thing but it's always bugged me in ACC.

Im so conflicting it has so many intriguing things, but the marketing and vagueness of the game are making it hard for me to be excited. It has so much potential but not much to show for it. It's frustrating because it uses unreal engine 5 and has amazing graphics, but physics currently needs a lot of work. And the sound design is great, but im so conflicted! I hope this doesn't fail, but it's not looking good for the future. I hope it's successful.

Test drove it and its better physics and ffb than AMS2. Its a combination raceroom physics and rfactor2 ffb.

I'm not very convinced on this sim. The driving feel is pretty good, IMO.

Zero triple screen support still ?

I tested Rennsport in closed beta. I still can’t find the added value to the sim racing world.

I never got that beautiful replays, even in my 4090. Waiting support for triple screen too.

The ghosting is a problem with TAA.

Wanna make "purists" upset add animated car skins. As long as the cars drive good and the tracks are decent I couldn't careless if someone wants to customize their cars livery with subtle animation.

It doesn't even work, I have no idea how you set it up for Moza base, it wont even launch the game, says it failed to initalize whatever the fuck that means, I launch the game from the Epic launcher then I can't even setup the wheel because it wont let me bind turn left or right, it says it's the same axis. Yet they have the audacity to ask money for this crap.
