This week I assisted my buddy Greg to take delivery of his brand new 2022 Epoxy Granite Syil X7 CNC milling machine. These new VMC's from Syil are game changers and have truly left their competitors dead in the water.

It is great see more X7's in the country. Shame he did not get a Syntec 22A controller so I would have someone to chat with. I ordered an 808D but due to chip shortage got the Syntec...now glad I did.

Hi John congratulations on your purchase. Yes, Greg held out for the Siemens control package and he waited over a year. However the wait served him well, as he got the current 2022 model. Cheers 🍻

Hi Az. Unloading and placing is always a ‘pucker-factor-10’ time eh? 🤣🤣 Mr. Xu and his team have really come along in leaps and bounds since our (2018) ‘irons’… those granite machines look very substantial. Interesting to see that mega steel ‘lifting plate’ at the rear. The C.O.G on them is a long way back ( I nearly tipped mine over 😱😱). Your mate Greg looks like he has a very nice space there 👍 Great to hear he chose Siemens 808DA…. Must be one of the last before Syil start specifying Siemens 828/840 control systems? Everybody is asking the same question tho’…… what is that lathe in the background? Can’t wait to see the commissioning and start-up. 10x👍 Regards Robert

G’day Robert thanks for watching mate. Yes Greg was very happy with his purchase. He waited over a year for this machine to be built, as Siemens couldn’t get computer chips. The CNC lathe in the background is a Chinese slant bed with gang tooling and a small 4 position ATC tool post. It also has a Siemens 808D controller. Looking forward to seeing this thing fire up. Hopefully he’s very happy with it. Hope you’re well buddy. Cheers 🍻, Aaron

@DCT_Aaron_Engineering

@@Factory400 Hey Carlos. A Haas minimill over here in Australia would be about $80-100K Aussie. I think the little Syil easily punches (pound for pound) with a Haas Minimill. However they are little down horsepower with only approx 7HP and a BT30 spindle. They have an epoxy granite base which means excellent thermal stability and rigidity. Me personally, I think they easily outperform and out value any other competition around this price range on the market 👍

Hi Daniel. That’s a very good question and it depends which country you’re based in. The newer epoxy granite Syil is awesome. It’s a smaller BT30 taper machine but would easily punch pound for pound against standard EDU or entry level Haas MM and much cheaper (if in Australia). The Haas MM2 is in a whole other category.
