Good job. I wouldn’t worry about the temp of the vacuum pump. I run mine (JB & Yellow Jacket) for 24 plus hours straight. It does get hot though.

not sure if its of any use to you but to force y moves on our doosan you need to set x minimum in the NC Program post processor settings. needs to be a minus number. depends on part size

@davidpearson3146
@davidpearson3146 Месяц назад
@@DCT_Aaron_Engineering for the hole in the crankshaft, did you have your WCS y axis pointing in the same axis as the hole. hope that makes sense. that would use a y move. usually better to have the x axis in line with something like that just because you have more travel in the x axis. depends on part size obviously.
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering Месяц назад
@@davidpearson3146 G’day David. WCS was set up as a standard lathe job. Z axis on centreline of chuck and X axis perpendicular to the chuck face. I just selected the hole centre. Hi Andrew. You can use the tools stationary to drill on the centre line. However, having them as live tools allows you spot, drill and chamfer off the centre line. The lathe has an additional Y axis.

G96 / G50 @ 1:50 WOW, that Spindle 👌 It's sort of funny how Confusion 360, showed the part being Milled with Y Axis. But it ran in C Axis in the Lathe ?? Is this how Confusion shows it in CAM 🤔 I'm onlly asking for a friend 😅 The FR on the Parting Off tool might be a little aggressive. But, it's maybe more so that the part isn't launched than the actual Cutting Speed. I like how you always take so much time to show as much as you can in a video, everything from CAM to running in the machine. I might be a little lazy in this regard about how much time I put into a video. But, you have always made good content on your channel 👍👍

Nice project Aaron. I really enjoyed watching everything through ConFusion to running on the Mill. You're definitely spoilt with a Probe. ( but reality is, I'm too tight to pay the money to buy 1 for my machine 🤫) On the Mill I run mostly 100% Rapids with a mix of fast feeds. But, on the Lathe I do the same as you and run mostly 25% Rapids with a mix of fast feeds for moving around the part. It's a pain running a Tool into a part on a Mill, but a major headache running the Lathe turret into the Spindle 😬 I like the Watch you're wearing with the shaded area for knock off time 😅 Looking forward to seeing another video to continue the series with the small engine build 👍👍
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering
@DCT_Aaron_Engineering 2 месяца назад
G’day Peter. Thanks mate. Yes very spoilt. That MM2 has a 4th axis and through spindle cooling too. Once I prove the program I run 100% rapids, but if it’s the first cycle for the day I’ll slow it all down just to make sure it’s all good. I agree mate, a CNC lathe is a whole different beast. You don’t want to smash that turret. Talk soon mate. Aaron

Pucker factor. Having machine a lot of timber shapes screwed to a spoilboard, I can totally relate to that. I liken it to IFR flying. You have to trust your calcs knowing the tool is going exactly where you told it, but is still scary. Just curious. Why didn't you machine that part mirrored so when you tighten the cap screw, it rotated into the dowel pin instead of relying on pushing it into the pin? Not a criticism just a question.

However as I’m only machining 10 pairs, I didn’t want to waste a set of soft jaws. Oh course and you know me I used Confusion CAD CAM.
