This week we continue the Porsche 911 widebody backdate project and begin work on the rear end of the car. We fabricate rear bumper brackets, use 3d printed hammer forms, and shape the bumper flares out of steel. Our goal with our videos is to document the process, share what we know and also provide entertainment along the way. If you enjoyed this week's video, please drop a like so we can continue to keep growing and afford to increase quality, have longer videos, and eventually be able to do two videos a week!
Thanks for your support, friends!

I guess i never realized just how many tongue twister words are involved in true dying art metal work. Still massively impressed with this shops metal skills. Super talented crew here.

It’s the bug out (bulge outward) Porsche.. I’m excited about this one. It looks so cool already. Goodness, it’s fortunate I was sitting down when I checked my RU-vid this morning. Crucible Coachworks uploaded on MY Saturday! What a treat! Note to self, avoid Ryan with a pair of scissors in a dark alley. Seriously though, nice skills Ryan. As a guy with zero experience, it blows my mind what you can do with steel.

Great video! Love how the bumper is turning out! Good call on the simple flare to the lower portion. Flows well without being too matchy matchy.

You guys should invest in some wireless mics to make it easy to hear you guys. Your voices are fine when you face the camera but fade when you look away or Tony is talking.

11:30 if you really want to mess with someone, get a tape measure made in centi-yards and milli-feet or something; just replace the meter with foot or whatever and watch people freak out over the Imperial Metric measure system.

I've never seen a spring steel PEI sheet shift like that on a 3d printer. You might have dust, metal dust, or something else that is not allowing the magnet to stick to it better. Try cleaning the PEI and the magnet real good and see if that helps.
@CrucibleCoachworks
@CrucibleCoachworks Год назад
Yeah I was surprised also. I realized this bed plate also has a layer of of that kinda think foam adhesive under it too, making it a bit thick for the magnet to grab well. I might need to get a different one. Haha!

@@CrucibleCoachworks Did you ever see that one channel called Grindhouse Performance where he used 3D prints to press designs and bends into sheet metal?

Good thinking. Cut a logo noone will ever see, but where the rear tire can kick up moisture and debris up into.
