Watching this man run the 400m compared to other ELITE athletes is like watching Usain Bolt run the 100m. He just stands out among the stand outs, his form looks like it's from another planet. I have never seen a more relaxed runner on the 400m, he looks like he's not aware of the competition. He can go sub 43. @MrLoveOneAnother Thanks! I’m pretty sure the average fan has no idea how freaking incredible WVN record really is. MJ 43.18 stood for nearly 20 years and that record was phenomenal. Wade crushed it, perfect setting like you said and he took advantage of that. Hell, no one has even come close to MJs old record, why do peeps all the sudden think 43.02 or sub 43 is possible…it’s not. I’m 50 and I’ll be shocked if it’s broken in my lifetime. Same with KW hurdle record, which personally I think is an even tougher record to beat.

well, he can learn from marathon sub-2hrs legend E.Kipchoge system: addressing every possible angle for miniscule improvement; mental, technical, combination of speed and endurance (400m)- yes, S.Gardiner can break 43s barrier.

I've always believe that running your own race is key to achieving your personal best time. Especially in the 400m. I think being in the outer lane allowed Wade Van Niekerk to achieve that.

Wayde von Niekirk's record should be safe for a long time to come. Running well for 300m is impressive but the additional distance will be daunting. Wayde's mixed ancestry gives him what is called hybrid vigor. This is something that should never be underestimated when combined with excellent training techniques.

@pugita1232
@pugita1232 2 года назад
Oregon is a "fast track". That's why most U.S athletes ran incredible times at trials there but they failed to replicate their performances at the big stage. Look at the Women's 100m at the 2016 olympic trials. Gardner, Bowie and Bartoletta all run under 10.8 in the finals. Then in Tokyo Bartoletta didn't qualify for the finals, and both Bowie and Gardner ran 10.83 and 10.94 respectely in the olympic final. Way far from their trials times.

For johnson to set all those records back in the 90s is truly amazing imagine him in his prime today with all the upgrades in nutrition and equipment ECT ECT he'd have probably broken 19 seconds and I certainly think he'd have broken 43 seconds in the 400m.As an Irishman that loves Athletics Johnson will be a legendary sprinter forever.

The USA is busted with sprinters in the 100m and specially 200m. Though I don't really see them (Mike Norman) do anything in the one lap race. Thank you for uploading did not know that Gardner just broke that WR, I have never seen him as a WR contender but he is right now by far the favourite 400m athlete stepping into the World Champs. And wow Fred Kerley and Emmanuel Korrir are some great sprinters did not know Kerley runs up to the 400m and Korrir beeing so competetive over half the length of his usual 800m primary distance. Could you make a video about 17.02.2022 due to Selemon Barega attacking the 3.000m indoor WR again in Liéven with Lamecha Girma and Getmet Wale some 3.000m SC beasts to support him+JakobIng will maybe join that race if it get's slower like 7:30 Jakob is one of the fav's imo but I don't see him taking that WR against these three guty guys from 🇪🇹 Anyways stay save guys

I'm not an expert and I'm speaking purely out of my personal experience and some physics. If bb only he could position his spine to be as much neutral as possible. Watch his back while sprinting. He is flying, effortlessly, but if he leaned his chest just a little bit forward, i believe he could gain a couple of hundredths of a second. Believe me, there's a lot of stress on the spine when running like this, especially running that fast. Anyway, I'd love him to improve that segment and witness, let's be optimistic, 42:95 or a few hundredths more.

As a former 400m specialist in high school, it's the hardest run to run in track since you need speed, endurance, and stamina for one lap.

I will explain......I ran 400s in high school & college. This is the most brutal sprint ever! The 800 is crazy too.....but, this is the king. You go out hard.....relax, see how you're feeling......try to maintain your speed, which is damn hard... lactic acid building up.....and try not to decelerate, again, lungs screaming for oxygen......you try to run hard thru the tape. ...on a good day, you can.....but, even for elite athletes, this is very hard......your needle is on empty........like it should be......if you've never sprinted s 400......hope I helped you understand.....

To run a 43.03 400 meters is to run a 10.75 100 meters back to back 4 times consecutively with zero rest. It's next to impossible to run 10.75 100 meters 4 times in a row with 60 seconds rest in between. So in order to break that record or run a 43.00 flat takes a V02 max that's off the charts, a rare mutation of fast twitch fibers, perfect peak in training cycle and total brain 🧠 cooperation/determination/belief to pull that off. At around the 300 meters mark ur brain is sending natural signals for u to stop bcuz the muscles R so full of lactic acid. So ur brain has to be great at blocking those signals. Records R broken all the time but the 400 meters record tends to stand for a while.
