We've Got A Problem...

I'm hoping this will change soon but as of now, here's the short of it; RU-vid has never paid too well on gun content even when fully monetized and so I've been grateful for the sponsors that have helped make the content possible. However, it looks like firearm-related sponsors are no longer allowed in order to keep the videos monetized. Once a video goes de-monetized, (like the latest episode of the 1 MOA Challenge) it effetely is no longer recommend and viewership (and possibly the channel) dies. So here's the solution I can implement now, I will absolutely still be here uploading videos, but the 1 MOA Challenge series will be exclusively available to Patreon members starting in 2025. The 1 MOA Challenge is the whole reason I subscribed to the channel in the first place. RU-vid has been going after gun related channels for a while now.. Im sorry this is happening to you.. as I have always enjoyed this channel.

As an added note, I really appreciate everyone who is supporting on Patreon! However the goal is still to try to find a way to continue uploading the long range challenge series publicly on RU-vid. I'm about done with YT, about to just solely do rumble

One thing to keep in mind is that RU-vid could get separated from Google if they lose the antitrust suit. Because RU-vid is heavily subsidized by Google, it could charge creators to have a channel on their platform for the bandwidth. Otherwise, RU-vid would likely go under very quickly. You should upload to all platforms now, grow a following now, and if RU-vid does go under, you are ahead of the curve and could probably make more money than just RU-vid. There's gotta be somewhere for everyone to land if RU-vid isn't viable, rumble, and X are the 2 best alternatives, because people are struggling financially already, so paying extra for content isn't going to bring in the masses like a rumble or x channel will.

This is complete crap I love the content you provide, in particular the MOA challenge. Got me off the couch and started shooting at distance here in MT, and will participate in a 1000yd comp next month.

I'm not enough of a fan of any channel to go and pay for their content... BUT due to this guy's honesty and humbleness, I'll be supporting his new venture for sure. Genuine people are hard to come by these days.

To Rumble! All the gun guys seem to be going to Pepperbox, but I can't get that app to install on my Rokus, but Rumble is the platform to be on for free speech.

That really sucks. The 1 MOA @ 1000 challenge was in my top 5 favorites of all series on the entire platform.

The 1 Moa at 1000yds challenge is one of the few series that I consistently watch the day it drops. It’s a genuinely good series so I’d hate to see it go.

How about this idea. Print a picture of each shooters rifle that shoots the 1000 yard challenge on T-Shirts with a brief description of the rifle, scope, trigger type etc if it is not cost prohibitive to have them made.

What the hell is wrong with RU-vid?! This is the best show since Top Shot.

Others try to duplicate what you started with the challenge but they dont hold a candle to your show. They sure as hell dont have your mom! We love what she brings to the challenge. As long as you keep it going, we will be here supporting you.

I've said this in comment sections on other channels. The real solution is for the biggest gun channels to buy stock in RU-vid and it's corporate parents. No one creator has the cash to be a majority owner, but the ten or fifteen biggest creators could have owned enough stock and prevented this together .

I thought they clarified to say we can mention and have firearm related sponsors, we just can't direct viewers verbally (or as already in the description) to the sponsors website? But yet I've seen firearms manufacturers or sporting goods store ads DIRECTLY on pre,mid,post ads from YT.

I'm brand new into long range shooting. Just built my first long range rifle. However, I have been watching you since before the first long range challenge. I look forward to every episode. As far as the sponsors, I have used silencerco and have 4 Arken scopes. I love them. Sold on the patron.

I've loved watching this channel. I've gotten some really good ideas on hardware to use and it has even got me into 1MOA at 1000 type shooting. I built a rifle specifically for it. It was great while it lasted. Keep us posted so we can follow wherever this ends up going.

This really sucks tbh, I subbed about about a month ago and got caught up with every episode and now to have this news really shows how YT wants to suppress this kind of content. What I allways wondered about was, why dosnˋt the firearms industry and the pro gun groups get together and come out with an own video plattform for firearms related content? With enough aggressive advertisement it should grow and become a real alternative for content creators

Most of my free time is watching things I'm interested in doing on RU-vid, the 1 MOA Challenge being at the top of the list. I do want to give props to some truly great content from your channel, thank you! I do hope you are able to continue. My days watching RU-vid are coming to and end quickly as I believe that sends a bigger message in the long run.

Someone needs to remind Google/RU-vid the importance firearms played in the formation of the U.S., the U.S. Constitution, and the freedoms we enjoy. Such as the freedom create, the freedom to pursue life, liberty, happiness-not just here in the U.S., but around the world. Presumably, RU-vid was created as a platform for free expression. Freedom has never happened without arms.

RU-vid's stranglehold on the video-sharing market is suffocating other platforms, preventing them from gaining the necessary traction to grow. For the digital ecosystem to evolve and diversify, RU-vid's dominance needs to be dismantled, allowing alternative platforms to emerge and flourish.

RU-vid and Instagram have gone too far! How about all of the big players like Texas Plinking, Demo Ranch, Colion Noir, etc. start a hashtag or something to let Mark Zuckerberg know this isn't ok and we're not going to play his political games. Something like #2ArightsVsMarkZuckerberg or whatever and we hashtag it across all social media posts or comments we make.

I know you actually read the comments, so here goes. I got rid of cable a long time ago. I now pay to watch just the shows I love and it saves me well over $100/month. I love the videos you put out. Not just the M.O.A. challenge (Although I really, really love it). You give fantastic advice, put in a lot of work, and have a family to care for. Paying you $5/month is the bargain of the year. I truly am sorry YT is doing you (and others) dirty like this. No one would blame you if you threw up your hands and walked away. Thank you for not. Seriously. Thank you.

Sorry that this has happened to you buddy. RU-vid screwed my channel over as well, just as we hit the monetisation platform they decided they didn't like our content and blocked us from AdSense. They still run adverts, they just don't share the revenue! You're doing quality work so I'll be seeing you on the Patreon feed. Keep the faith.

I feel for ya and really love the series. But respectfully if you compare $19 for all of RU-vid to be ad free with premium…$5 is a lot. I think $1 would net you a lot more revenue.

Not sure how many you've looked into, but there's a lot of alternate content sites starting to pop up. Obviously, viewership is a lot lower on most of them but if YT cuts your revenue entirely, those other competitors might start looking even better.

Geez man, YT keeps doing whatever it can to drive certain content creators away. I guess outright banning the subject would go to far, but they’re doing everything else they can to quash it. You folks deserve to be able to make a living here, and I hate it that they are trying to make that impossible.

The 1000y challenge and your earlier videos got me hooked on long range shooting. I picked up a Howa 1500 in 6.5CM with and XRS chassis and hit my first 1000y shots a couple of weeks ago. As a Canadian, firearms "rights" are basically non-existent and we lose access to specific firearms regularly because of overregulation under the guise of "public safety". It's disheartening to see our sport and hobby be constantly threatened by the government and large corporations deeming this kind of content harmful. I hope you keep the series up, even if it is no longer on this platform. I'm sorry to see and hear that YT and Google have destroyed the original intent of youtube... it is so different compared to when it first started.

What you could do, is look for sponsors not supporting the actual shooting. You said you get Gatorade on the way there, reach out to them for example!

That is not right. I enjoy seeing the 1000 yard challenge. And if i wasn't so far away from Texas I would dust of my fun toys and participate if invited. I am getting ready to rebuild my XLCR1000 and want to do a video series on that subject. these are my two best hobbies.

I wish there is something we can do. Like for instance. Pull yt revenue. Not paying the 13.99 a month . The only reason I come on this platform is because of the 2A content. It'll be a real loss if we lose the moa challenge. And this is happening to all the other 2A creators.

Here's something everyone needs to ponder, and potentially bring up with your representatives. We grant these companies, like RU-vid, protections under Section 230 as we have come to the conclusion that it's an impossible task to moderate such platforms. However, we have seen over the last few years them taking aggressive ideological actions against content creators. So if they have the capability to moderate content that goes against their ideology then is it time we revoke Section 230 and begin fining and holding them accountable for actual malicious/illegal content?

This is terrible on RU-vid’s part. This series has to continue. Never shot those distances but seeing it done amazes me everytime. They want you being sponsored by meal replacement companies and earbuds.

Can you make short (say 2-3 minute) trailers of every new 1 MOA Challenge to publish on RU-vid (carefully crafted to avoid de-monetization and stay in recommended), with a link in the description to, or just describing how to find, the full video elsewhere? I imagine that a decent percentage of viewers will be invested enough after the watching the trailer to follow through and find the full video where you can have ads and sponsors (whether that be on pepperbox, rumble, vimeo etc.).

Hopefully the situation changes or gets better somehow. Keep up the hard work. Mush love and support from a fellow Texan!

I’ve done Patreon in the past but I just never remember to go there. I watch your content here irregularly because I was subscribed and saw it in my feed. I see more and more people moving to subscriptions and there are just too many. I hope it works out for you.

I very much enjoy the 1 MOA series. Those are the videos that caught my eye and I’ve been catching up from the first one to the new one. I know that this all takes a lot of work. It looks like fun, and it is a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of work and even just in powder and copper. I’ll definitely be looking into going to another platform to enjoy. Entertainment is expensive, and I think it’s fine to get to enjoy it. I think $60 a year is more than reasonable, and those of us that will pay for this spend much more than this on a range day.

Everyone I work with is going to be so disappointed. I hope this all works out

What about $100 gets you a trip to your range for a couple hrs of supervised fun. I always look forward to this series. Have considered taking up the challenge. I have a 540 yard range on my property near Devine Tx. Maybe someday. Keep up the good work and fight fight fight

Your work is great!!! I think this series would take long range shooting to another level! As a shooter, with limited access/experience to long range shooting(400+) yards, I humbly submit a thought. It might be great to add supplementary content on the basics tips/tricks on different aspects of long range shooting. Maybe tip of week in each video. I wonder if NRA/associations might sponsor your video. Also, do sponsor have a way to direct share your content with their customers? Your content is great and by sharing with their customers, the customer can see the product in action or new products they might be interested in. Last, is it the words the AI picks up on? Can you just show a pic of your sponsor and use cryptic speech to avoid triggering the algorithm for now? I guess links trigger the algorithm too Man this is the problem with censorship! It’s a slippery slope!

I always watch the MOA challenge the day it comes out, that won’t change whether you’re on YT, Rumble, wherever. I hope to try the challenge one day and have built a rifle to do it and have been practicing. I just to find a place to go the distance, and a crane to move it because my latest glass has pushed it to 17lbs. At any rate, I hope you keep it up Brandon, I know your fans will miss it.

RU-vid does that to my channel all the time. I have won every manual review. They turn the icon yellow right after it’s made public when is the time everyone is watching it. Even after waiting 7 days after uploading to make public. Takes up to 7 days for a review.

Such a fantastic format to watch, possibly for me the interesting & involving on you tube. We live in crazy times.
