We've MOVED IN! (to One Room) 

I saw the chairs and began to smile. As the camera moved around the room, my smile began to be a grin. Outright laughter followed. I am giddy with glee for you both to have this wonderful space! Happy New Year, indeed!

For anyone who hasn't ever applied grout on tiles before - you will want to wash it off within 30 minutes because it'll "burn" into the tile surface otherwise, and will require many hours of scrubbing to remove any excess grout that was applied and dried up too much. Also - dont use too much water, just kinda go over it like with a cloth iron, smoothen it out. Great job Kylie and Guy, I'm very much impressed, once more!

That metal door was made to stay. You needed a lot of brute force to remove it. The tiling looks great. You must be so satisfied to finally have one habitable room.

Congratulations. It is amazing how miraculous it seems getting things back everyone else takes for granted. Like a fridge, hot water, a flushing toilet, plumbing. We started renovating in Portugal about the same time and we probably have 2 to 3 years to go but are starting to get some essentials back. (Yes there are other nutters like yourselves secretly plodding away). I will never take things for granted ever again.

That was a great choice of stain for the pole and it made it look even better. Also the tiles looked so clean and finished looking. The door was amazing. It all made the room look ready to live in. But most of all the work you both put into this renovation was truly astounding. Can't say you copied anyone else's ideas. You did a wonderful job on this room. I live in a similar house in Greece and we use portable gas heaters when we cant be asked lighting the fireplace. They don't cost much and give instant heat. Bravo guys!

Oh I’m so happy for you both! When I saw those glorious yellow chairs I felt a thrill of joy and I cheers out loud as the table and chairs and induction cooktop revealed themselves! I did think “oh they’re going to need a backsplash…” but that’s a minor detail after this massive milestone reached. Congratulations and enjoy your well deserved rest. My wish for you is to move into one room of the house and get out of the tent. I love all your content. I get great ideas from gardening to renovating. Enjoy your life more. Take the pressure off of yourselves. I worked an 18 hour daily job for 40 years in what people consider the Glamour industry. Film making. I was so driven I could not see burn out . I decided to retire early and take my pensions and move to a tiny village in Italy. I have a community here, a social life, I enjoy everyday. You deserve that. I will continue to watch . Katie

Far be it for me to offer advice to anyone but if you can heat up the room now, I would. I had underfloor heating and it didn't take that long to cool down in winter, and if you already have to wait 6 weeks, why not be warm for 5 of the 6? I LOVE your room. You both work so hard. It makes me happy to think of you sitting in there enjoying a toast, dare I even say, perhaps a slice of toast as well? Happy New Year to you both. my first reaction to the cold would be why didnt you put a small wood burner in the kitchen living room to get you though the cold winters in portugal. it would also speed up the drying out of the walls. although you will have heating you always need a fire to sit in front of.
