We Visit the Most DANGEROUS Town in LANCASHIRE! Accrington, Really? 

We have always said we won't have anyone targeting individuals here on this channel. This video was done to highlight the inconsistencies in how journalists have reported the story on Accrington. Targeting people here in the comments is not what this story or channel is about. We will, and have, delete or deleted some comments already. If people don't like this response, then simply walk away and watch other channels. That's not us being argumentative, but we just don't need the drama here.

I often work around Accy and always think it's such a shame it's got so deprived, like the other surrounded towns since the demice of the cotton trade where the towns were booming.. Accy especially has amazing grand buildings around the town centre, which remind me of some of the great old city centres across Europe.. Accy town centre must of looked great back in the day..the buildings are mega, with the balcony's and stone infrastructure.. like England's Rome 😂

Accrington Stanley. Who are they? Liverpool and Manchezter have money invested in them. It's a shame town's are suffering due to big supermarkets. It's a lovely town. I'm a scouser bu5 great history. Happening all around the north.

I was scared for the first day when I landed in Accrington @ 2021, I heard lot of negative news about Accrington but in reality I am really enjoying life in Accrington , town centre need to be more vibrant and should be a good shopping destination...

8:00 I used to park my ice cream van outside where that Pound Bakey is now. When the market was there and you could drive through the centre. Then it got pedestrianised, got to be a pain in the arse and without the market there wasn’t the footfall.

I’m from Ossy and I used to shop and drink in accy in the early 80s if that article was written in the early 80s it might have a ring of truth 😂 maybe you should do a video on how accy was a great place with dozens of pubs in the town centre but now there’s only 5 or 5.

I moved to Accrington nearly 8 years ago from East Durham. If people think its bad in Accrington they need to go to Peterlee in East Durham, I've not had any trouble here in Accrington

I was at work so I missed the premiere. Heh, Accy dangerous…. I mean, definitely not. It’s got its fair share of bagheads and wrong uns but it’s definitely better than Blackburn, Haslingden, Darwen, Nelson, or probably even Burnley when it comes to feeling safe on the streets.

Final say on the matter. I love Accrington, nice for a Wednesday morning out to the market or a pie any day from Mannings when it’s open. Also it has a traditional, if revamped, market hall.

We went on a school day trip to Accrington town centre. we were meant to going to Blackpool but the coach broke down. It was okay but it was a Wednesday.

Many years ago on abbey street there was a lorry crash. It had lost control going past the fire station, the firemen saw it fly past and knew it was in trouble. They jumped into the fire truck and went to assist. I don’t know the dates, this information was from a patients family but what I do know is the firemen were in such a hurry they didn’t don on their fire gear therefore got reprimanded.

I think it’s a nonsense that the nw is rougher. From experience with crime in both places the crime in posh areas like Oxford where the money is, we moved from there in lockdown, it’s far more scary because people have so much money they can pay other people to do bad things. I agree with you about the vagueness. It stops people coming to a great place

13:50 this is a very contentious issue in the north west really. It might explain why the statistics nuances aren’t shared. You can say one thing but you can’t say another if you’re a national paper. If you’d care to take a quick look into the proprietors of aforementioned vape shops and takeaways then I’d recommend not posting your research results. Despite my previous comments, you’re in the town centre like V says. Take a wander over towards church and ozzy out of the town centre or go up willow house lane and take a left or right.

Accrington worse than Manchester 😂 no way alright is Accrington ok gone down a bit nowdays neglected town used to be a good shopping place and a great night out 20 years ago. But most towns are quiet these days like Blackburn doesn’t come alive until the afternoon and the town as a poor night life to what it used to be. most young Blackburn ravers go to darwen for a night out these days.

A dangerous town? No more than any other average north west town but it is a very neglected town.

I call bollocks to it. I feel Accrington is safer and less violent now than it was in the late 2000’s. I used to skate every night around that era and we had a massive scallie population that wanted nothing more than to start fights and cause trouble. I haven’t seen that kind of anti social behaviour in a long time. Sure, we still have young lads roaming around in groups. But it’s been a long time since I’ve personally seen any issues with them. It’s true, like you said that since the redevelopment of the town centre the town has started to decline. The old market was the heart and soul of the town centre. The old cigarette kiosk was a work of art and the fish mongers was a land mark I’ll never forget. (Even if just for the smell haha) Accrington is more vacant than violent these days. Empty shops, old closed down bars and pubs. It needs an injection of local pride. As a life long resident I can confidently say we want our town to return to its golden age. We want small businesses to fill the empty shops. We want a community that cares. The TLDR I guess is. I feel same walking around in the town centre alone at night. Accrington has been mis labelled in my opinion!

Is that derelict building near the start of the video the one you went inside in a previous video, where that cat was? On the subject of it being a dangerous town, I think it probably would depend who you are. For instance an ammerican gentleman on RU-vid I watch called john of new, (he was told by alot of physics in a previous life he was john the beloved but he likes to spread the message of living life loving,) he tells the story of going to Egypt and feeling very welcome everyone was very friendly. Yet he met another ammerican who was angry and a bit arrogant who said everyone wanted to fight him. Obviously because of his angry arrogant personality. Now you went to Accrington and everyone was friendly. But the other day I was watching a youtuber from Manchester who is very angry and arrogant. He would start arguments and fights with people on the street and when people would ask him to stop filming them please like a security guard at Burnley college and a vicar or something at a church in Blackburn. He would just go on about how it's a free country and he can film what he wants and then hurl abuse at them. Now if he went to Accrington there probably would be trouble

Accrington may be a bit of a dump these day's but I have lived here all my life, I never see any trouble in town, people are very friendly. I go into town two or three times a week for a coffee and always end up chatting to strangers. I have no idea where the paper got this very bad review of Accrington from.

I was,born in Manchester brought up in Accy moved away 8 years ago. The best thing I ever did and that's wasn't because of gang warfare and other things 😂. It was alright town when I was growing up sadly its a ghost town now.
