For 199 episodes, we've avoided watching a Neil Breen film on So Bad It's Good. But for a big milestone, we had to bring out the big gun - the Breen. We watched all 5 movies in a single, terrible day. It was brutal.

I have two theories about Breen: he is either a genius and knows exactly what he is doing and how crazy it looks, or he is an actual danger to society and these are his literal manifestos. As Red Letter Media put it, whenever you have an important politician go into Vegas, the security detail's number one priority should be "Eyes on Breen!"

I feel like you missed the scene in the first movie where he finds out that the little girl died of cancer and the rock didn't work. That part is hilarious because it makes him look like even more of an idiot. He found a random rock in some dying old dude's hand and for some reason assumed it was a magic healing rock. Of course it wasn't. If it had been, the old dude wouldn't have died. I just love that he's arrogant enough to have a whole intro voiceover about how great he is, but still accidentally makes himself look like a total moron.
@publiusdos5925
@publiusdos5925 6 месяцев назад
I think the idea is that Breen's character is supposed to be a lunatic on purpose. The whole movie is an inept attempt to do a 1st person narrative with an unreliable narrator, and the whole bit with the rock and the dying little girl is the clue. Basically his movies are based on scripts written by someone who didn't ask any of his friends to give him some feedback. Space Ice ran with this idea with his video on Double Down, but I think he was absolutely right, this movie is supposed to be seen as the diary of a mad man. Ironically the movie convinced the world that the film maker was a lunatic instead.

neil breen is a cinematic genius and nothing can convince me otherwise. His movie making skills are just simply too godlike for us mere mortals to understand. Only after we give ourselves up to the true breen and acend shall we be given the gift of understanding these masterpieces!!! ALL HAIL NEIL BREEN!!!!

This was hilarious! I never heard of Neil Breen before this. So you guys have introduced his “work” to me. Thanks? He definitely zooms into the upper echelon of terrible filmmakers. That wonderful so terrible it’s funny, Plan 9 from Outer Space, level of bad. I may need to organize my own viewing party.

My theory about the Breen. At some point, he learned that some directors shoot scenes out of order, either for weather conditions or scheduling conflicts, but keeps forgetting to put them back in the correct order. And since he doesn't label his footage after shooting, he sometimes mixes in his outtakes and casting couch sessions.
