Funfact: The Seven Words is a reference to George Carlin's bit about the seven dirty words you cannot say on television, which are "shit", "piss", "fuck", "cunt", "cocksucker", "motherfucker", and "tits".
Sailor mouth actually has an uncensored version that will probably never see the light of day, the voice actors had asked to record with actual cuss words because it was easier. The crazy part is Nickelodeon allowed it. We know people who worked on the episode were given copies, but we have no idea where they are now.
That's only based on what the fan wiki says, and I don't always trust fan wikis. Tom Kenny himself reveals in the description of the episode in the iTunes collection, SpongeBob SquarePants: Tom Kenny's Top 20, that they actually improvised fake profanities that would be censored by the humorous sound effects later.
Art comes from the soul and not the rule book. As soon as SpongeBob goes through the book, nothing works out for him. As soon as Squidward throws books and rules and gives himself to emotions, he makes a masterpiece.
Fun Fact: In the documentary celebrating SpongeBob's 10th anniversary, Chris Pine makes a cameo appearance and says that the best SpongeBob episode ever is "Sailor Mouth". Whether or not he still thinks that nowadays, though, I can't say 😅
The Sailor Mouth episode was really good because it manages to find a way to have the characters swear in a family friendly and hilarious way. I also found this episode relatable because when I was a kid and found out about swear words (I mainly found them through, ironically, SpongeBob EDITED videos), I would often use them and get in trouble for it. The dolphin noise whenever swearing occurs is hilarious. A very funny and enjoyable episode.
I also used swear words in my vocabulary when I was younger. However, I didn’t know that most of them were bad when I got scolded for saying them. From then on to this day, I don’t say any swear words at all.
@@SpacialRend7 opposite story for me. My dad curses like a sailor, and I've always known pretty much every bad word and knew not to say them, However, when I get to middle school, I was the only kid of a class of 30 that didn't swear constantly. Now I'm worse than my dad.
Sailor Mouth has been known to be the episode where all the kids watching this show learn not to swear. Even behind the scenes, the actors actually had to swear and they censored it with dolphin noises. It’s another great episode, with a very good lesson to teach kids.
For Procrastination, I feel like anyone could relate to this episode. You have an assignment to turn in the next day, it’s just hard to sit there, and focus, you finish the assignment (by rushing and staying up late) only for the assignment to be cancelled🙃
I love the “Sailor Mouth” episode! Interesting to know that the VA’s used actual curse words for their lines, but understandably got edited with dolphin sounds. I think it fits the humor for the episode though, haha! A very fun episode imo.
Seeing Clariss counting and pondering cuss words was icing on the cake! She's too precious❤ I'm from the Caribbean and I could've easily named 20 cuss words the first time i saw this ep. (7yrs old)😅
@@MultiTcherryI haven't thought about it either until recently because Plankton was the only person who always refer to Mr. Krabs as 'Krabs' with much contempt. Well at least that know of anyway. There may have been others, but to me Plankton was constant
I used to think “Sailor Mouth” was weird, because why would everyone get upset about dolphin noises? Now that I know that they are actually SWEARING, it makes all much more sense 🤣
26:47 I like how Squidward's comment "he means THIS filth, you loon!" implies that Squidward doesn't disagree with Spongebob's assessment that he's filth.
The clock part reminds of another cartoon called Chowder, where a guy’s trying to make it to his date on time and the clock taunts to him “You’re going be late. For your date. FOR YOUR DATE!!”
The "7 bad words" is a reference to George Carlin's famous bit about words you can never say on TV. I think the 13 is just a made-up gag about how sailors are so uncouth that they have a whole extra dirty vocabulary all of their own.
When SpongeBob was looking out the window if you noticed squidward was relaxing If SpongeBob was out there he and Patrick would definitely ruin his day 2:58
Fun fact: Patrick’s fake dad, Marty was voiced by Thomas F Wilson who also played Biff Tannen in the Back to the Future movies. He will also voice several more characters later on in the show. 😀😃😊
“Procrastination” is a relatable episode. As the name indicates, it’s one thing I practice not to do, especially when it comes to meeting artistic goals I’ve made for myself.
@@nicolasbaron4506 Ha, as a fanfic writer who usually writes 50k words per chapter this is nothing to me. Granted usually it takes me 2-3 months to finally publish the chapter but still.
Not sure if someone made it clear already but the 7 dirty words that Squidward makes a reference to is actually a nod to George Carlin's Seven Words You Can't Say on Television monologue
24:44 Squidward: excuse me?Does this lovely couple belong to you. They've been standing outside my house saying where's Patrick all Day? It's driving me nuts!

There has been a RU-vid video on the SpongeBob voice actors cussing as their characters. It was amazing you gotta check it out if you haven’t even seen it yet. When it comes to your wife Clariss, she cusses awkwardly. 😂😂😂
Sailor mouth always crack me up 😂❤️🙏🏾 glad you like the video 😂 fun fact: the actors actually cussed because it’s easier. There is an actual episode where they actually cussed which will never see the light of day
🙂Procrastination is a very personal episode to me. Only because of how relatable it is. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been distracted by things when I’m supposed to be doing homework. So yeah, I’m biased. It feels like an episode that was made for me.
I actually liked the ending of I am with the dummy. Spongebob was just trying to help patrick because he s his best friend and he humilliated him just to make himself look good in front of his parents. Turns out that those werent patricks parents and his actual parents still believe patrick is a dum dum
Sailor mouth came out just 10 days after 9/11, it made me and my entire family laugh because we saw nothing but sad news so it felt nice to finally have something to laugh about even though my mom did ban that episode later. I was 7 years old when it premiered
I didn't understand the Sailor Mouth because well- I was probably like 7, 8 or 9 when I first saw it. Now that you have reacted to it and made me remember it... I'm like "Oooohhhhh"
I've always love the episode of Sailor Mouth! I'd laugh so hard that SpongeBob and Patrick cursed.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 20:40 OMG!!!! LOOK AT HIS FACE!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had a similar experience to when SpongeBob went to turn in his essay and the class had been cancelled, except it wasn't an essay. I was supposed to give a speech for a class that started at 8 (this was in college btw, not high school). I got up at 6:30, ate breakfast, then went and found a room in the music building (I was a music student) to practice the speech for about half an hour. Then at about 7:45 I went to the building where the class was held, only to see that there was no one in there (I got there a few minutes before 8, and there would always be at least a few students there before me). This obviously confused me, so I pulled out my phone which I hadn't looked at all morning and saw that the professor had emailed everyone saying that the class had been cancelled. Mind you, I was all dressed up in a suit and everything. I wanted to strangle that professor.
When they recorded Sailor Mouth, the VAs requested that they be allowed to actually swear and be censored via the dolphin sounds as they felt it would be easier for them to act off of. So while we'll likely never hear it, somewhere out there there's real audio of SpongeBob characters swearing.
Sailor Mouth is the funniest episode 🤣🤣🤣. Everyone cursing in this episode was funny even Mr. Krabs. Even Mr. Krabs Mom was funny for a short appearance.
Nice one Tim and Clarissa of the Spongebob Squarepants episodes this episodes of the Sailor Mouth and Artist Unknown cracks me up of laughing and the buzzing sounds is to avoid the bad words. LOL 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
they actually did swear tom kenny talked about how they got permission to actually swear because it was easier so there is an uncensored version that's never seen the light of day
I would pay to see the uncensored version of Sailers mouth I know Nickelodeon studios has the tape but it’s not been seen by the public hopefully that’ll change someday
Yeah, "Procrastination" can be relatable. I have, though, trained myself not to procrastinate too much whenever I have had homework assignments. Even though he's not the smartest (like forgetting the role reversal plan he made with Spongebob in "I'm with Stupid"), Patrick knew at 24:36 that his parents are not named Janet and Marty (his real parents are named Herb and Margie). But yeah, I guess most sea stars here are not very intelligent (with some possible exceptions). With the iconic "Sailor Mouth", you'll hear lots of people tell you that the cast were using actual curse words behind the sound effects. However, that's only based on what the fan wiki says, and I don't always trust fan wikis. Tom Kenny himself reveals in the description of the episode in the iTunes collection, SpongeBob SquarePants: Tom Kenny's Top 20 that they actually improvised fake profanities that would be censored by the humorous sound effects later. Also, Squidward's quote "Don't you mean there are only seven?" was a reference to George Carlin's iconic routine, "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television." As for the biased Book of Art Rules in "Artist Unknown", I'm guessing Squidward himself wrote it. He was wrong about there being rules, because, in truth, art has no rules.
I'm with Stupid has to be my favorite Patrick Star episode because even though it's wrong of Patrick to make fun of Spongebob I always found it funny as a kid and still to this day as a young adult also your reaction Tim at 25:11 is everything I love it LMFAO 🤣💕
I would pay good money to have a copy of the uncensored original audio. I'm sure many people said this already, but they found it easier to actually swear and bleep it out.
We had to go to the library in groups for school assignments to make sure there were no distractions. Although, once I was the one left to do all the work while the others just played on their phones. I was very passive back then. So, as you would expect, it turned out bad and we failed
You do have a sailor mouth, Clariss. It's one of the many things that makes you so attractive and why Timothee is one of the luckiest men in the world.
I like procrastination because of how relatable it is, I’m With Stupid is just funny and SpongeBob being insulted was my favorite part, Sailor Mouth was really funny with all the swearing. Artist Unknown has some funny moments
Ugh perfectionism. It's such a complicated thing, especially in my field (band instrument repair). I'm at trade school right now and our instructors and mentors actually encourage messing up, especially while we're still in school. So do the potential employers that come to visit us. They put us to a high standard and expect us to make our work as accurate and complete as possible, treating us like competent employees, but at the same time helping us through every step of the process and happily answering any questions we have. I love this style of teaching, especially for hands-on work, since it helps us understand our own human flaws and inconsistencies. We want our work to be perfect, with the understanding that it probably won't be
One of my prouder moments in college was starting a 15 page paper 10 hours before it was due and getting a 95% on it. I actually once wrote an 800 word essay on what not to do at a stoplight to see if it was as hard as reactors were saying it was. It took me about an hour and took up a single page.
I do remember in High School I did do some kind of assessment/assignment (I can't remember what it was, it was about a decade ago) and I struggled at first but then I got a bunch of ideas, got in the zone and got it done quickly and then I was excited to show my teacher my work but then he/she was very indifferent and was like 'good work' or something. So I was like in my head 'Are you kidding?!' Because I thought the teacher saw it as a bigger deal than that. But I had some awesome teachers at my high school.
Shockingly, the procrastination episode is more relatable to me now than it was when I actually was in school. Seriously I have honestly gotten worse about it in a lot of ways... I still haven't even decided which of the 900 ideas I have should actually become my first novel, let alone begun writing the motherf-
SpongeBob: We'll be good citizens, just like good ol' Mr. Krabs. Patrick: Agreed Mr. Krabs: (curses up a storm) Me: Still wanna follow Mr. Krabs' example?
