This is what our grandparents and/or their parents fought for. A peaceful land of Finland and well being of everyone. Happy independence day Finland and thanks to all war veterans. Let's keep Finland up and doing great! 🇫🇮
@Jason If you feel like that, then do so. Nothing is against that. From my point of view, European Union gives us a little bit more rights than before and it also gives us a freedom to visit globally in all the european union countries without a visa or time limit of staying.
I’ve been following your journey for quite a while, and as much as I love this channel and think you’re wonderful, you must understand that this husky sleigh ride is Animal abuse and its worst! What you don’t see is what they’re not showing you and I know this because my mom is a veterinarian, and she works with rescued huskies that have lived their entire life and these situations where they are used in exploited to pull slays by being forced to live in horrific conditions outside despite the fact that people think huskies are bred to live this way they cannot! All dogs are pack animals and only wanna do is live inside and live with Their families indoors where it’s warm and cozy, they don’t want to live outside in cages anymore than any other animal dies. I guess unless you’re a polar bear it’s freezing for them, and these animals are forced constantly through beatings with things and starvation to be forced to pull people on the slays and causes severe Ather, arthritis and pain for these animals. It’s irreversible unless it’s caught early and these people are constantly sedating them filling them full of pain relieving drugs to cover up the pain that are causing them but it doesn’t fix their bones and their muscles are deteriorating. According to my mother who’s a vet and specializes in exploiting animals used in the entertainment business. These dogs are kept outside and freezing cold temperatures in these cages because they don’t want them to get used to a nice warm bed. They don’t want them to feel loved, and cuddled and sympathized with they want them to be workers they want them to be enslaved in a life of servitude where they don’t get to make any of their own choices, they just are carded around and used and exploited so people like you unfortunately will pay this horrible operator to beat moisture around on a sleigh, and these animals are pushed to the limit until they can’t do no more and then they’re killed because they’re useless and these animals are cycled through very quickly. They don’t live very long they live a life of torture and pain and live in Animal Person basically, from the time they are puppies all the way to the adults and again they get no love no nothing there treated like basically a working machine and nothing more and yeah, I know you get to go into their enclosure and give them hugs and you can tell me the way they were after so happy to get any kind of attention from anyone but if you seen what went on behind the scenes, you would be thoroughly disgusted. Please don’t support this don’t promote it just don’t have anything to do with it.
The husky sledding looked so much fun! Huskies love to run, mine does! We've done scootering in the snow together, but not sledding. Seeing the cute puppies reignited my need to get a husky puppy friend for K'eyush! I just love that crunch of snow, such an amazing holiday!
I cannot get over how stunning it all is .. That scenery is beyond magical with so much White but little pops of Red from the buildings just wow :) it has both cosy and freezing vibes at the same time loved this x
Hì! Thanks for the wonderful vlog. I used to work there in Santa Claus Village back in the 90's. The place has grown a lot since then. I also lived near by. Once in January 1998 it was really cold, it was -45 celsius for three days and over -30 celsius for three weeks. That was fun!Usually there is much more snow by this time, glad you got the wibe without that loads of it. You made me miss Rovaniemi and Lapland, I don't live there any more, so thanks a lot😀. Have a great time there!
It's nice to see that you had a good time here in Finland. :) Even though I live here (in Helsinki), I visit Lapland many times a year because it is soooo damn magical. Last month we also visited Santa's village, again, but I really recommend going hiking in the fells, the views are incredible! :) Have a wonderful Christmas everyone :)
The little lodge's that reminded you of Tipi's are called "kota" in Finnish ☺The design is similar to Native American's Tipi but it is for very different purposes, it was used by the indigenous people of the arctic treeless plains to follow their reindeer herds. Sami people still use it as temporary shelter. Sami are actually the only indigineus people in the EU! Sami people have multiple different words for them in different Sami languages. The Finnish word "kota" actually used to mean "home" in pre-historic times, which is where the Finnish word for home "koti" derived from. Finnish people stopped living in them in pre-historic times already, but to this day some people have them in their yards for outdoor cooking purposes etc.
omg how absolutely gorgeous! It's currently -40 outside where I am here in Canada and this made me feel so cozy! I think I should go make myself some hot chocolate haha. And wow I think I'll also look into doing dog sledding, it never occurred to me that we probably have something like that available to the public here but it looked like sooo much fun and I would love to go fast!!
First time seeing your videos but it's amazing you took us along on your trip. You're so bright and happy and seeing you enjoy things and experiences was so much fun!
Hey, Catherine!I'm a new subscriber on your channel.😊 It makes me so happy you enjoyed your time here in Finland!❤ I'm having so much fun watching your Christmassy vlogs.✨️🎄🤩
Love it! These vlogs are getting me ready for our winter vacation to Park City, Utah. We are taking my 14yo and 16yo kids snow skiing and snowmobiling for the first time. We will be there the week before Christmas. Eeek!
Such a beautiful winter wonderland! Ty for showing me this magical place because being from FL I would freeze to death in 2 minutes ☃️😊☃️🌴☃️. Those huskies were soooo sweet and they loved all of your petting and love 🥰 I'm really enjoying this adventure!
The way the Finns do sauna is first, take a short shower, go to sauna, get some beer/cider/longdrink/soda/vichy, get some steam and when you feel enough, go OUTSIDE and if you are a Finn enough: crawl in the snow. Repeat several times. =)
I had a husky farm in rovaniemi with my husband. We had to sell it during covid time case we absolutely could not afford it. I miss the dogs, but not the tourists cause some of them where "not so nice." And yes, the dogs absolutely love being outside, no matter how cold it was, I could never get them to come inside the house.
The "juice" (glögi) is seasoned with cinnamon and carnation. It is like our non-alcoholic version of Alpine region glühwein. It can be flavoured with redwine and vodka as well. The flamed salmon is a real treat too! Too bad this is the most commercial (and small) part of Lapland. You should direct more North to Levi and Ylläs region for example. They are big ski resorts but they offer hiking, snow walking, snow mobile and husky safaries aswell and the most importantly: better touch the nature of Lapland. In the middle of nowhere where is total silence and beauty. There you can experience the Magic of Lapland in better scale.
Hi there. Know you flew with Ryanair and stayed at the Santa Claus holiday village but can I ask who you booked with? Did you book with each directly? Thanks 🙏
I love your travel videos can’t get enough 🥰😍 I could watch n hour or two if not more you guys are my fav nice to see more of dean and dean being more vocal too love you guys so much now I want Chinese food lol 🥰😍💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 love you guys so much I’ll wait for another upload 🥰👏👏
Oh my goodness, what a beautiful place to visit, thankyou for showing this place, now because I watched backward I need to watch the other video of Lapland
Next time you visit in Finland, you should visit in Ivalo, Saariselkä in Inari :) Those are also very magical places to visit and in Saariselkä there is finlands longest sledding hill :)
Thats not teepee its hut and that not smoked salmon it was fire salmon or blazed salmon. Otherwise, you've enjoyed the trip and got something that you don't have at home, and that's the point of everything. Some of us have to live here every day. 😉
Another amazing vlog, I loved it. Kid you not, the husky sled part brought tears to my eyes, it has absolutely been the number 1 activity on my bucketlist for sooo long now and I'm sure, this is the place I want to visit the most. It has everything I could ever wish for. Thank you sooo so much for sharing your trip to Lapland with us! 💕
Oh yes, the light there is otherworldly! Just incredible! Te only other time I’ve seen something like that is when I was in Greece and Florence. Must be why people love going there for painting.
My face aches from smiling through the whole vlog ! Omg !! Those puppies ❤❤ so adorable , and Dean looks like he might need a Husky puppy in his life lol , loved this vlog so much ❤️❤️ Sarah x
Ahhhh the doggies!!! Huskies have been my favourite dog breed ever since/because of the Snow Dogs movie hahaha. Also the scenery is absolutely stunning!!! Thank you for sharing this vlog series, I'm loving it 😍😍😍
I have a husky mix, seeing the dogs that give rides. ❤❤❤ Dean holding a pup, makes me want another one! They r so strong. I really want to go to Lapland!
Heheh, I'm so glad you got to experience some of the best bits of Finland, it's pretty miserable in the autumn and spring here, where it can be very gray, wet and dark. -10 and colder with snow is Finland at its finest! Wool is your friend in Finland, remember for next time, wool is the best at keeping you warm and breathes well too (scarves, hats, sweaters, socks, with goose down jackets on top), synthetics aren't quite as good! :D Also glad you got to taste some of the salmon, it's a staple food here in the Nordics! Salmon soup is my absolute fav :p And omg those puppies though, I would just walk off with one, so friggin cuties XD
Hi. Any places you would recommend buying these items? I live in a sunny area with no snow in South Africa...dreading the cold but not sure to purchase when I arrive in Finland.

Hehehe they have the thickest fur as well! They are so excited to run 😂 you can see they are in their element on the sleigh hehe they even look back at us when we were going too slow 😂
Never understood why Americans insist that Santa Claus lives on the North Pole!?😳🙁🤪 Has anyone seen reindeers grazing there?🙄 There’s nothing to eat but ice or seals but reindeers are not carnivorous…😣🙁 But in Lappland big herds of reindeers are roaming there and occasionally crossing the roads as witnessed by car drivers. 🤔👌
