We went to an ECOLODGE in MAURITIUS 

We went to Otentic Eco Tent for a week-end!
Otentic eco tent is an eco lodge nested by the GRSE river in the South East of Mauritius!
After a week of adventure we decided to go spend an even more exciting weekend with Juliette Antoine (and eventually Phil hahah) at this Eco Lodge. As we got there first, Vic and I got to choose the best tent (yes you sleep in HUGE COMFORTABLE tents) and went around the lodge to find out what we could do once the rest of the gang finally decided to show up.
Once everyone was there we immediately hopped onto some mountain bikes and went for a ride around the sugar cane fields nearby. We found this really cool man made reservoir, jumped in to cool off then made our way back to the lodge.
While everyone else was enjoying some drinks by the pool I went to watch our dinner being prepared! The chefs were so nice and were happy to show me how they made their special Mauritian menu!
Soon after, we all had dinner (which was absolutely AMAZING) told stories by the camp fire and went to bed.
The next morning we woke up for the sunrise...again...(thanks vic...again).
We took the kayaks out to the open sea and watched the sun rise over the eastern coast of Mauritius. Light started to fill up the sky and touch the mountains one by one right before our eyes. It was truly breathtaking. After about an hour of pure contemplation (and some drone flying) we made our way back to the lodge for a well deserved breakfast.
At around 10am we got onto a shuttle boat which took us to Ile aux Cerfs (one of the most touristic places in Mauritius). We wandered around, went for a swim and watched people parasail until we were picked up and taken back to the lodge. After lunch and a few cups of coffee we got onto kayaks and paddle boards and set out to see the famous GRSE waterfall where we were greeted by monkeys and Pail en Queue birds.
Our first weekend came to an end after yet another cup of coffee and a quick dip in the pool.
We felt bad that we didn't show you guys everything Otentic had to offer, so the next weekend, we picked up Phil and headed back to Otentic for another night. As soon as we got there we dropped all of our stuff and went off on another mountain bike adventure which took us to another waterfall hidden in the sugar cane fields! The next morning Vic woke us up with a cup of coffee and we went of on yet another river adventure! After lunch we spent hours playing volleyball, badminton and "tennis volley" before packing up everything and saying goodbye to the lodge.
We had such a fantastic time discovering a part of Mauritius we had never really explored and making new friends. The staff was kind, the vibe was relaxed and laid back. Also, THE FOOD WAS AMAZING (which is so important to me hahahahaha)
