This is called "jamming"....where ya just play what ya feel like & everybody joins in. Happens all the time w/ folk music sessions. Great job, guys! Sounded amazing!
@@WavyGravy1985I can imagine musicians thousands of years back had their own jamming sessions, I like to imagine they would think modern music to be quite tame.
Wish I could do things like this. But the way I have learnt I can only play if I know the notes. Trying to get out of that though, but struggling of finding ways how to.
Gentlemen I applaud you. For someone like me from an older generation it fills me with hope to see young men such as yourselves creating art and sharpening your talents. There's so much division and ugliness in the world today it's very nice to find something of value and virtue amidst the cultural clutter. Bravo!
Respectfully disagreed. That’s just one part of it. I can improvise and “fake it”, but it takes me a minute to get intricate pieces down. I have a friend who’s reaallyy good at intricate pieces but she can’t improvise for anything. We both have different strengths and we’re both skilled. You don’t need improv in an orchestra but you need it in a lounge, yk? And chances are you can’t always exchange the ppl who can do them at high levels. I wouldn’t ask Coltrane to play with Ray Chen or vice versa
This is not improvisation. It’s a well known hit song with very basic chord changes. It only seems amazing to people who don’t know music & can’t play or sing.
That is one of the coolest things ever… A live, in motion, mashup; done by actual instruments… You guys are blowing my mind and I love it too much!!!!!♾💎✨🤯💃⭐️
In other circumstances, people would say “this is totally rehearsed” but when it comes to music and musicians, there’s this bond and magic that they share with each other unlike any other, I feel, that make this possible. Music touches us all. 💖
Listen, caring about whether or not something was rehearsed is stupid in almost all the contexts where someone is like “Wah wah wah, I bet they rehearsed this!” Yes, maybe they did, and they did *wonderful.*
Yeah, but if you’re a musician it’s actually super obvious that this was off the cuff. For one, when the piano fucks up but recovers and the violin leans over to say good recovery, and also when the cello is playing the melody and obviously doesn’t know where to put his fingers on the upper notes. These guys are just in sync. Wonderful trio
@@liamvernon9793 They where fliming themselves practicing Golden Hour. they literally said at the beginning of the video. Plus you can play songs by ear if your talented enough. and i dont think that song would be hard to play. by ear or with sheet music.
That’s so awesome!! You can only “riff” like that when you all know your instruments well. When the Cellist started playing pachabels canon as a mash up it gave me goosebumps - I really enjoyed it. The fact that you all enjoyed it- well that just made it all the better! Thanks!!!
Small ensembles (e.g., trios, quartets, etc.) are trained to listen to and be mindful of each other's performance. The pianist was the culprit who signaled a change... but the pianist and the cello seemed to be following the violinist's lead.
This was literally so beautiful. People have never been so in sync, and it makes me cry watching this. Especially when the cello finds a different melody yet it still sounds like a part of 'Memories', wow... a great round of applause to the amazing trio here.
All the people have never been in sync? I think anyone can be in sync with anything besides music. When people know each other so well, it's like they know what they're thinking or feeling. And of course, these three hear a different musical note and just catch on to a new tune automatically. Very talented guys
These guys are incredibly talented! These guys have so much personality that I could watch them all day. I really love to see musicians enjoy playing and I think it’s so cool when they improvise.
The little laugh at the end by the violinist indicates that he enjoyed it. The grin or the cellists face while playing indicates that he enjoyed it. The speedy recovery and clap by the pianist indicates that he enjoyed it. The perfectly on time ending indicates that the trio enjoyed it. The violinist and cellist relationship, that is so well that the violin changed to harmonies, indicates that the duo enjoyed it. The trio truly did enjoy it 😊
That was impressive. They seemed to be having so much fun. I'm about to grab my violin and my four friends: 1 cellist, 2 viola players and my fellow violinist, to play this with me 😂😂
PLEASE WHAT THE HELL i cannot even describe how hard it is for me to play a new piece with other's and you all did it literally just then and there without any practice. you guys have beautiful coordination and harmony. Keep it up im subscribing
@@g.strobl4458true, but even in Jazz, playing with the same group, over time you know who will stay on melody and who will variate. There's still a greater synchronization that occurs, even in Jazz, when you've been playing with a group for a while
To think, I almost passed this by! I'm happy I didn't! Ive had a bad several weeks, and today was one of the toughest days. If more yourubers did what you guys did, maybe the world would be a happier place. Thank you for cheering me up! I think I'm going to listen one more time. Oh! I heard Steve Winwood call what happened there, happy accidents. You guys are great!
My a capella group just recently started improving songs after not thinking it would be good for so long and we all started picking it up really quickly! Super cool when you all hive mind it and harmonize correctly!
@@reylaine8965 I think it was just shortened to it because "improvisation" is often shortened to "improv," at least that's what im getting from it. similar to how there's "unionizing," which could be the way you likely read it, with the sound of "union," but then there's un-ion-ize as in the chemistry term. That's the closest analogy i can think of at the moment, but I'm also incredibly exhausted rn so-
I super love this clip. It goes to show the trio knows their instruments well and the spontaneous reactions showed they enjoyed it! The smiles on their faces! I rewatched like 20 times (previously watched on TikTok) and still enjoyed this clip! Thank you for sharing.
You do not know how honored you are to be gifted with such amazing talent. I've wished I could sing, play piano or violin but it was not in my cards. You three are incredible musicians. Bravo
As a lifelong musician myself, this is magic when it happens. The combination of similar spiritual vibration, honed skills after years of practice and instinctual unison as one at the drop of a note. The best part is that it brings joy and laughter. Thank you for sharing the magic, guys! And,love that you were having fun and, yes, great improvising and recovery skills! Extremely rare to catch on recording, film or vid. I am so very happy myself now because of you...thank you!
Totally agree. I'm not a religious or spiritual person at all, but the connection to other musicians felt during improv is the closest thing I think I've ever had to a spiritual experience.
You this gave me chills!!! It’s so beautifully done and I love that it wasn’t planned. The energy of your music rises the vibrations and it totally took me to a happy place. I subscribed and I will tune into your music 🎶 so lease continue being you and your greatness will shine!! Wow! I am so proud of our younger generation who love to spread goodness to all. Keep it up. BRAVO. STANDING OVATION 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It’s just nice to see and listen to such wonderful young met to be, it’s pleasing to hear this especially on a day like today. Too much negativity in this world and these kids shine a beautiful light
I love how they were moving their feet they were so into it and their facial expression was priceless. What a wonderful young musician you guys are amazingly talented ❤
That was incredible 😂 honestly even in a band- there’s always that song or two…(for the band I’m in its “Hey Baby”) so when the percussionists start playing the beginning- everyone just joins in and others start singing to it- it’s absolutely glorious and normally after marching a long way 😂
That was brilliant, guys!!! So lovely, so clever, too. I've hit the bell, coz I want more. Thank you for bringing a huge smile to my face today. Please keep filling time and the air with your music.
I walked down the aisle to Panchebel’s Cannon in D. This was one of the most beautiful renditions of this piece I’ve ever heard. Bravo and very well done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It IS indeed beautiful, and I love Canon! However this song, although it's based on Canon's chord progression, is not Canon. It's Memories by Adam Levine!
Incredible! You guys are truly amazing! Harmony is limitless when musicians coordinate and give it their best! Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting- soo uplifting!👏🏼🙏🏼🎶🎵❤️
The love all three of you have. Made me go in tears a bit. I love this moment. Thank you for posting. You three are so sweet. Lovely musicians. 🧘🏽♂️🧘🏽♂️🥹🩵💜
THAT WAS JUST SOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! Thank you all, all three of you for learning those instruments! I wasn't expecting this at all and wasn't even trying to look on RU-vid I had only just turned on my phone... Once I clicked on this by accident I continue to listen.... It literally made me CRY! I'm not kidding! Not for some sort of reason like it brought back a memory, or anything even remotely like that. It made me cry because it was just so very BEAUTIFUL! It really touched me. Just because of the beauty. You all did such an amazing job!!! I'm so proud of all of you for learning those instruments, and for spending your time in this way at this age!!! I think that's partly what made me cry. For years when Pavarotti was still alive, I would stop anyting I was doing, just to listen If ever I heard him singing over the radio or something. While he was singing I felt like I couldn't even move his voice was just so amazingly beautiful. I haven't felt that way for quite some time now, until just now when I heard the three of you play this. It was just so breathtakingly beautiful, so unexpected, and so completely lovely. I miss those kinds of things happening in life. They are not at all frequent anymore with the way the world is. So much hate and anger and fighting and bitterness ... So much demonstrating, arguing, and Karen's everywhere. (I might even be one myself!). I'm telling you nothing set you straight like the purity of beautiful gorgeous music! Thank you for learning to play! Thank you for getting yourself together to form this group! Thank you thank you thank you for seeing the IRREPLACEABLE VALUE in spending your time this way, and sharing this with the world. This is the beauty we should be seeing in the world. And just like when one of you clapped at the end with that spontaneous joyous childlike GLEE! .... That is literally EXACTLY how I felt in the end also! (Lol, I even do that same little kind of clap, when I'm super happy about something super great and unexpected!) You guys literally made my night! THANK YOU!
Musicians doing what they love, in sync with one another. So much talent between the three of you. So much joy on your faces. Embrace your music, then share it.
back when I was in my (granted, middle school) orchestra my friend group was made up of 2 first violins, 2 second violins, 2 violas, and 2 cellos and we would always practice songs together at the beginning of class during warmups and since we did that every day other people would join in with us and more than a few times we’d all (like, the entire orchestra) just start playing together without the conductor. it was super fun because once you were done tuning you could just find out where in what song we were at and join in, no pressure :)
That was so good. Thanks. I've been having a pretty stressful week with college applications, and that just made my day hearing such a pretty rendition of memories.
That was soooo beautiful!! I was sad when you guys stopped....so I watched it again! Your music makes my heart smile. I need this song as my ring tone.
So beautiful! My son started on cello as did my brother, the sound of a cello holds a very special place in my heart and these three guys just groove with each other. That's so special!
THIS is the stuff that needs to go viral for the world to see. Not the stupid mindless crap that out there now. This was beautiful and I loved their little chuckles at the end. How wonderful ❤
You guys are such an inspiration to the youth. I wish they taught music in every school. Thank you for truly representing the intelligence and innovative thinking for your generation. You guys are our future. ❤❤
I feel these guys were already experienced musicians to improv like this. As a former musician a decade ago, I don't believe a group of beginners could pull this off.
They could, if their minds are wired in the same improvising manner and they have the same catalog of melodies memorized. Without a memorized catalog of existing compositions they would be improvising "jazz".
@@paulinelarson465 well it could be melodys that are memorised, but also they can just improvise or if someone has perfect pitch they can hear what to play. But I clmpletely agree that it takes a lot of practice and u have ro really know your instrument and comfortable with it. Have a great day!
@greta4503 Perfect relative pitch can be learned, i.e., the automatic shift to harmony by the Violin, allowing the Cello to take the melodic line, and the piano's steady, but varied, basso ostinato! True musicians, who sacrifice their egos to the music! Heartwarming!
It would not have the same spontaneous magic though. With the Canon the way it is , they could have improvised on it for a couple more rounds, but the violin was clearly indicating that they end it there. Not in any manner like a nod from the violinist, but in the way he was making the sound only. And, since they were synchronized, they did, (end it) and that was the magic of this moment. To sit down now and play a longer version, the magic that suddenly happened the first time won't happen again. They are two completely different events. Both can be beautiful but only the first version had that real-time spontaneity and subconscious synchronicity that, when it does happen, for the musicians involved, is on a higher communicative plane. It's impossible to do this if it's planned, it just can't get there. It's sort of like quantum theory where your result changes if the procedure is being observed as opposed to not being observed. . I hope this makes sense!!! 😊
Absurdly talented young people!! This video was randomly recommended to me and I am soooo glad it was! I cannot wait to check out what else you guys have to show me. As someone old enough to be your parent it is so beautiful to imagine the bright futures you all have ahead. Please follow your passions wherever they lead you and keep having fun, no matter what! Because really, if you aren't having a good time then what is the point?
This was totally amazing, but that's the beauty of studying an instrument; knowing the scales, the augmentations and 7ths and 9ths, and the diminishes, and all of that. I do believe they intuitively knew what sounded pleasing. I know when i hear great stuff. I subbed ❤
I know not much about music, only that it makes me feel better. No matter the circumstances, it just makes a soul feel better. You guys seem to be in your element, and it’s so awesome to see young people doing something so special. Thanks for putting a smile on my face . Thanks for reminding me that not EVERY young person is lazy and can actually get through a period of time without their tech devices glued to their fingers. Thanks for the joy your collaboration brought to my heart today. 😊
Just loved the impro and fun the three young men seemed to be having. Showed on each of their faces how much fun they were having, their continuity in playing their own instrument and the finish was a gold star rating. Lovely to hear such wonderful music being played by the younger generation ❤
That was very clever. You are all very talented musicians abd your parents should be very proud of all of you. When I was younger I would do similar things with my band mates just to see what we could do and have fun with it. And that is just you were doing, having fun with the piece and it was wonderful. All of you truly have a talent for music especially classical and I hope you hi far in it. It was very good. Have a blessed night! Take xare. ❤🙏🙏🙏👌✋😀⚘⚘⚘👻
Yes I’m leaving another comment 🤭 Idk how many times I’ve listened…Three of my favorites coming together like this ❤ Genius and beautiful! I’m enjoying it ❤Makes me want to get my guitar and join in😊
Very cool guys! So happy there are still some young people who appreciate Pachelbel. You all sounded wonderful and one can see you are enjoying yourselves. Never lose your connection to music. It can sustain you.
great ensemble skills! these are what good ensemble + improvising looks like :) I would love to play with people with such skill but not some people who don't even look at others 🙄
That was beautiful! Thank you for the very engaging, memorable performance. Makes me want to support our city's Philharmonic Orchestra. I can see a beautiful wedding day made all the more joyful with your music playing! ❤
Haha 😂 that reminds me of one of my orchestra practices last month during a break. So me and my stand partner were playing senorita and then my whole orchestra randomly joined in and we played the whole thing through. It’s so funny the things that happen when musicians are sessioning together or just when we hear other musicians playing. 🤣😂🤣
