Jinjer utilizes multiple time signatures in their songs which is what you were referring too. That is one of the reasons they sound so unique and it is also very hard to do! Another awesome thing is that they change who leads the core tempo, sometimes drums, sometimes bass, sometimes guitar, sometimes vocals, so cool!

This song got me hooked on Jinjer... I absolutely love it! Very progressive sounding. It may not be to both of your tastes, but may I suggest Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev... It's fire. It is all good bro, I'm 44 and can only manage a very similar Goatee... Some of us are just follicly challenged 🤣 Chocolate, Raspberry, and Strawberry Milkshakes. Jinjer creates nothing but great music. They are all Masters of their crafts and know how to show it off. I would like to suggest a song that will surprise you because it's way out of their norm. "Beggars Dance" from their King of Everything album is a short 2 minute Bossa Nova Trac that sounds like it came straight out of early 20th century. Tatiana has stated several times that if she wasn't doing metal, she would be a Jazz vocalist and Beggars Dance really shows how she is able to pull it off. I think that was the studio version with two different live videos mixed together brilliantly. This song shows her range, talent, unique lyric-writing and the band’s ability to change the whole vibe of the song on a dime. I read somewhere that she writes in her native language and then translates into English. Is that true?

Incredible message on top of the great vocals. Nice when you choose the official music video and it's a live concert. As for milkshakes, it really depends on what options there are, I like trying new things that you don't see everywhere. But when it's only basic options I go strawberry then chocolate and last vanilla. There is a limit to what flavors I would try, no tea, coffee or wasabi ect., nothing too crazy.

...cool guys...someone said they are "math rock"...which makes sense ta me...i can only count to nine....lost a thumb in a bowling accident...lol....yeah between the time signatures...the syncopated and poly rhythmic rhythms these guys just keep you on your toes.....also..loved the mini-docu you did on them....great job.....

The time signature is 4/4 throughout. This is the best example of the fusion of triple-z jazz and heavy metal. Good reaction.

They are coming here (St. Louis) march 13 for a headline show, then they are playing with slipknot for the knotfest tour in memphis and arkansas and I may do both of those!! and if you wanna her her cleans check out " I speak astronomy" which is mostly cleans (and phenomenal cleans at that) or check out " bad water" is all cleans.... or their older stuff or whatever... just can't go wrong with this band. Maybe "vortex" off the new album or "wallflower" both are great songs!!

Some useful terms: Syncopation: Unexpected changes in the rhythm. This might be as simple as the drummer delaying a beat on the snare drum, or as complex as the whole band accenting beats that don't fall on the typical 1,2,3,4 subdivisions. It's a very vague term in some sense, but I consider it to be a note or lick that defies the apparent pattern. Polyrhythm: when one or multiple instruments play two dissimilar rhythms concurrently. The most simple example might be playing triples (one-two-three) over a beat of four. The notes will line up at certain beats while being opposed at others. Odd time: When a time signature is not a multiple of two. I guess 3/4 (waltz time) is generally not considered odd time, because it's easily thought of as slower 6/8. Odd time is most commonly 7/8 or 5/8, which, if you simply nod your head to, will cause you to be off by half a beat every other bar. It's incredibly strange to try think of as musical timing when you're used to 4/4, but once you get the hang of counting beats, you'll notice lots of 7/8 and 5/8 in progressive metal. Often these are switched between and mixed with other time signatures. The way music is structured is very interpretative. For instance, a songwriter may formally divide two bars of 5 and 7 beats respectively (one bar of 5/8, one bar of 7/8), or just note the time signature as 6/8 (the average) and consider the change in feel to be an accent or syncopation.

That's called a "BACK BEAT". The emphasis is on 2 and 4 instead of 1 and 3 in a 4 beat per measure time signature. That slow half time feel part you said you didn't know the term for.

It’s called metal has many riffs time changes transitions about as complex as orchestra these individuals are so talented the skill thanks to doing constructive things not eyes in phone or gaming most of one’s day metal result of hard work unlike say rap where a computer does the sound/beat and it’s will be same redundant few beats the whole song if you can call it a song or poetry with a beat whatever real basic easy not much skill needed now learn a instrument writing with pals

"the one and only tatiana and her band - jinjer".... vomit the band is better musically than tati is vocally... and i say that as a big fan of them.... she is an equal instrument of each song and i actually REMOVE her from some of the songs when i download tracks because she hasn't always made the best artistic choices to fit each song (though much better over time, it's the earlier stuff that she misstepped on most frequently) this is one of the best collections of musicians we have in one band that is currently out there
