Strange though the PAVN did not use heavy AAA or atleast thier own artillery such as the M46 130mm or D74 122mm or D20 152mm which could outrange and outgun US artillery
One of the guys who owns a flight school at the local airport flew transport helicopters in Vietnam. I couldn't even imagine what horrific stuff he saw.

This is the best Vietnam war movie ever ! Not only on the battle field , But also on the military families at home ! I remember all to well watching the evening news as child the casualty reports & remembering a few classmates loosing a father or brother & hoping my father was never on the list . & the antiwar protesters ( MAGGOTS ) & later into the early 70's the media turning it's back on there own country men & the biggest bitch of them all Hanoi Jane ( Fonda ) But if you have seen this movie I was the little boy dressed in fatigues saluting. & in case you don't know the history S. Vietnam lost 1.5 million countrymen & N. Vietnam close to 2.5 million countrymen but if you paid attn. to the movie at the end when the Americans left the battlefield the N. Vietnamese commander said , So this is Americas war the objective is the same but the cost will higher! Our military never lost a battle in Vietnam ! Only the democrats & the media & the American people lost the war. & thank God my father made it back home after 3 tours , My only hero in my life ,not for what he did , but for who he was ,my father.
I Kimberly A Sample say that they should bring it back and call it next Tour of Duty about what's going on today, like the series the Brave which I loved watching also .

Very common for the UH-1 to have been mounted with weapons, mostly guns and rocket pods as seen here. The UH-60 Black Hawk can do the same, but often isn't.

U.S. won most of the battles in Vietnam , around 80% ! Yet they stopped supporting S. Vietnam and left Vietnam for good in 1973 after a peace treaty in Paris - France with N. Vietnam. The aggression started again by the N. Vietnam towards the South in 1974, and U.S. even though they had stated they'll defend again the South in case of a threat by the communist North, they never did since the Congress decline any help or founding on that matter. Without the support by the Americans the South was doomed and in 1975 Saigon fall after 2 years of battles (1974-75) .
