I had something really fun happen today after watching this video (and all Tom’s most recent which have been so eye opening for me!). I was telling myself the story of being wealthy, abundant and blessed today. I’m going to be a guest at a fancy wedding in October and have been wanting to find a beautiful dress, but don’t want to spend a lot of money. I saw the perfect dress a few months back but it was $300 and I didn’t want to spend that much. But I have been thinking about that dress and saying wouldn’t it be nice if I could find something like that for much less. I decided to do some back to school shopping for my kids this afternoon and was in a store where I walked past a clearance rack of dresses, so thought I would casually take a look. I wasn’t even there to look for dresses. All of the dresses were rather ordinary and inexpensive looking, except for one which stuck out to me immediately - a gorgeous floor length floral organza gown. I thought “wow this looks expensive and has to be out of my price range even on clearance.” Well imagine my shock when I saw the tag said $50! I thought, “I have to try it on for that price!” But then I saw it was several sizes bigger than what I wear. That didn’t stop me. I thought, “can’t hurt to just try it on.” Well I tried it on and it fit perfectly! (Aside from the length which needs to be taken up a little 🙃). Then I saw the label was a very high end designer and knew the dress had to be in the $500-$700 range originally. I looked up the dress and found it online for sale from the designer for $1100!!! 🤯 I nearly fell over right there in the store. I couldn’t believe it! I nearly cried with joy. I’m going to dazzle in this dress. I cannot wait for the wedding!

The way I interpret this is whether you identify as a wealthy person or poor person you still have the same range of emotions in each state of being. Who do you say I AM? Choose your desired state. The emotions are still there, but you are who you choose to be.

The root cause of our emotions lie in a particular concept of self. Change your self-concept and I guess you start aligning with that assumed and claimed concept. I'm trying this now as I have a lot of fears around money and making ends meet working for myself.
